Shortage of baby formula provoked misleading conspiracy theories that suggest government is responsible for bare shelves.  But the shortage is caused by contamination that forced plant shutdown by major manufacturer and ongoing supply chain problems due to the pandemic.  Not just any company can produce baby formula because Food drug administration regulations must protect baby consumers.

Why not help students since government bailout industries and the rich?  For many jobs, post-secondary education or certification is a necessity.  But education is a risky investment as not everyone can profit.  According to federal reserve, the least wealthy 25% of US population is the most likely to have outstanding student debt.  Debt forgiveness won't affect inflation much because benefits are spread over years and debt payments can still continue.  Polls show debt forgiveness is popular among most Americans.

Hey third, if you're a real person and you're in a public forum, can you answer a question? 

What should students that have paid their loans back receive? A tax break for 10k? What about students that opted NOT to take on debt for higher education? Should they be qualified in positions that require higher education for employment? What about people that went to trade school? Should they get a 10k cash credit for their tools that they are required to pay to help with their career?  Higher education costs = tools for trade school students.  100% sure you will NOT answer any of these questions as a real person.

That comment is bullshit. No way 95% is a valid %.

Anywhere you look, it's pretty much split down the middle or 55% one way or the other.

Ha. Go read any public forum and look at the up votes compared to downvotes and the comments. Very overwhelimg that practically ALL the comments do NOT agree with student debt forgiveness. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise. The only people in favor of this are the students that took out loans for a shit degree from a shit school. They are also the ones who never read the loan terms. Or people who think there is literally free money floating around. This isn't fantasy land we're living in. 

Everyone should be on agreement that the cost of education is too high. But that falls back on federally backed loans provided by the govt. So the fed govt could easily be the reason why the cost of education is soaring and colleges are milking the loans and students are not doing their due diligence before taking money. What message is being sent to future students when the govt "forgives" current debts? Just keep taking these ridiculous loans for a liberal arts degree that pays 1/10 of the loan a year. Keep racking up interest so the repayment takes 25 years. 

IMO the interest shouldn't be nearly as high (maybe instead of forgiveness, the pause interest so borrowers can pay down their principle. Just my opinion). Repayment applies 6 months after graduation. Does every college grad find employment within 6 months of graduating? Most likely not. So they're just incurring interest while paying the min payments. 

If the govt is going to back education, why the hell would any college lower prices? Keep living in fantasy land. Read up on SLABS. Student Loan Asset Backed Securities. There is a reason why these loans are not forgiven in bankruptcy. Spend a few hours reading up and you'll see why forgiving these debts is a terrible idea. Money borrowed with the promise to pay back is then reloaned and then reloaned and the snowball has been built to the point that it's too big to fail and that's why we're in this current mess. Remember the housing market in 08? Same shit, only the debts will never go away and that future promise to repay has been lent out again. 

This admin is just trying to buy votes at the tax payers expense. It's absolutely ludicrous and anyone who supports this has no clue of the consequences that will follow. 

People that took out loans,  parents who worked 2 jobs, students who worked to pay for their education should be reimbursed as well.  This participation trophy believe is only make our weak kids even weaker.  Thus group knows only immediate gratification.   Me first mentality,  they have no idea about hard work and the value of money.
