Comparing Trump or a US politician to peaceful religious leaders? You would be better off comparing Trump to David in the OT or Jim Jones the cultist wacko who was a pied piper like Trump is, conning people into giving him money, to sign silly agreements of loyalty to consider being illegal and manufacture votes or discredit law abiding people, to hunt down other politicians and cause them harm.
I would rather try to forward a middle ground guy than just fall back to the popular loud mouth who directs the masses to be stupid and divide the country. Its amusing how the rumor about Putin waiting out the election in hopes that his boyfriend Trump gets in and we stop supporting the other side.

My point was you can accuse anyone of being corrupt without providing evidence. Oh, they are all covering it up. Just saying it and believing it doesn't make it true.
If Trump, or anyone else for that matter, is found to have committed corruption, in a fair court!, send them to jail. The problem we have today is Trump is already presumed guilty and let us not shed any bad light on the Bidens cause that might help Trump and above all we don't want that! The end will justify the means. BIG PROBLEM RIGHT THERE. I don't care how much you hate Trump, losing the obligation of a fair and equal justice system destroys this country.
If Hunter showed an actual tangable service provided for all those millions I wouldn't have a problem. Having connections is a benefit. No one said the world is fair, I understand that. But not showing any tangable return points to corruption. Of all places, Burisma? Really? And money (million + for Biden family) from Romania real estate tycoon accused of corruption, right after Joe gives Romania anti-corruption speech! And this one, Rakishev, a Kazakhstani oligarch, wired $142,300 to Rosemont Seneca Bohai. The next day, a payment was made from Rosemont Seneca Bohai for a sportscar for Hunter Biden in the amount of $142,300. The guy bought him a car. For what? Then after all this bullshit hits the fan what does Hunter do? He paints garbage and sells it for thousands if not hundred of thousands. Same scam, different tatic, he actually has to produce.............something!
What does the world think of us now? We are no better than Russia or Ukraine with the obvious corruption we turn a blind eye to. That's why I post here.

Well, when they have a disaster in their own country who do they look to first for help? We are still the richest most powerful country in the world.
Trump is indeed already deemed guilty by most because of the mountain of evidence already available to the country. We saw with our eyes how he incited 1/6 & did nothing to stop it until it was basically over. I could go on & on by why bother.
As far as Hunter is concerned, I don't think anyone here on the left has tried to defend his actions & agree he should be prosecuted for any crimes he committed. You've provided FREE PARKING in your head on this subject & are fighting windmills here.
BTW...how about dem Lions last night!!!

What evidence? Last I heard the J6th committee has destroyed half of their evidence. Over 1 terabyte of documentation. And that's a feloney.
And I don't watch NFL. They will not get a moment of my time.

A conman will hide and cheat to get what they want, I consider Trump to be a con man and that is just how he is...his wiring is to find a way to get what he wants no matter who is impacted or what he has to do. There are signs and signals that anyone with SOME intelligence can sniff out a snake oil con man and its been a few decades since I first saw the guy and it did not take long for me to see he was a con. The way he wrecked his common investors over and over, the way he tried to manipulate to get his development projects done..his life is a road of being a self serving con and thats just who he is and will always be.
I consider Biden kiddo to be quite similar to Trump, just was not given the empire to pull the major con like Trump was from his dad..Joe never had much in the way of funds so Hunters con was through political connection not a financial bank account but both have many similarities.
There are tons of cons in the world from Scientologists to serial killers to car salesman to guys like Jim Jones. Trump is wired as a con and the degree to which he will destroy people to get what he wants is only measured on that scale, but for sure he is not interested in society or you or anyone but him and his self serving aspirations.

Enemies such as Russia, North Korea, Hungary and China prefer Trump in the white house. They see him as less committed to traditional alliances and open to corrupt deals. However allies see indictments showing no one is above the law in the US and Trump has flaws as leader. He is a threat to democracy and security worldwide. They think he belongs behind bars and not in the white house.

I think your statement is propaganda as usual. Using your own terminolgy, there is absolutely no evidence that foreign adversaries prefer Trump to Biden.
For a con man 2016-19 were some of my best years. Taxes lowered, energy cheap, lots of extra cash to play with. Getting out of war in Afghanistan, no wars anywhere else. Pointed out who was ripping the US off. Unemployment the lowest in decades, real median household income the highest ever, lowest poverty rate ever in 2019, saving union jobs with tariffs, all the while under constant attack by the Left. Impeachments, phony purchased dosier, etc.
Damn good for a con man.
WORDS ARE CHEAP.RESULTS AND FACTS ARE THE BASIS FOR MY DECISION MAKING.
And I know Trump isn't doing it for me. He is doing it for his ego. When the US succeeds under his leadership his ego is fed. So let him feed his ego.

I find this reply humorous, you give credit to Trump for things that were good for YOU that had really nothing to do with him at all and you blame Biden for things which really have nothing to do with Biden.
Your taxes were lower, does that mean the government was running a surplus? Were they running a FED padded deficit? Yes...so why are you happy that YOU had low taxes but the government was printing red ink? That means others are getting the tab for a lack of taxation and the sole reason Trump was able to float debt (which is one of his favorite things) and have no recourse was the FED playing ZIRP for 15 years.
Oil was lower....same story, do you know WHY oil was lower then vs now? Was OPEC still a monopoly then vs now? So given that OPEC hasnt changed, what DID change? Repeat the lesson again, the FED ran ZIRP for over 20 years and that created a corporate environment for credit that allowed fracking and oil companies cheap to zero cost capital..in return those companies were able to finance risk projects at nearly no cost so US and Canadian supplies were able to artificially soar and that created lower price. That has Z E R O to do with Trump. What happened to wreck that? Well an excess supply created a worm hole in the oil market that brought prices to below ZERO if you recall and it wrecked SEVERAL oil and gas and fracking companies and disabled or stopped MANY risk projects. Banks stopped lending to speculative oil companies due to defaults and risks and like a pebble in the ocean it rippled through the markets and here we are. Ive laid this out for years on here, so many times but partisan thinkers cannot look at logic and facts, it always has to be about their political party and their politician and against another politician and party.
The FED raised rates and keeps doing so, that is wrecking the debt situation and causing enormous interest costs, THAT will raise taxes, the FED raising rates means mortgages are more expensive, lines of credit, margin loans, corporate debt (especially for higher risk corps) is more expensive. In return corps from all avenues are no longer able to get zero cost freebie lines of credit to ramp production and take risks...THAT is the underbelly of inflation and higher oil costs. It has nothing to do with government regulations or Biden or Trump or how awesome Texas is or the stupid pipeline, those are moron words and concepts. The reason for all your happiness and now all of your misery is pretty much due to the Federal Reserve.
I doubt your partisan eyes even read all that message..

So I should pay more taxes and still watch the red ink increase higher than the Trump years.
A president who pushes for energy independence or a president who wants to end fossil fuel production in the US and buy it overseas, like Germany buying Russian gas.
And nahh, can't blame Biden. Laughable!

Energy independence is not about a politician or the government. You do realize that the cheap oil and gas you rolled around in was subsidized by the FED and thus by retirees and those on fixed income budgets?
The FED by running ZIRP played freebie gimmies to one group and pain to another. By artificially keeping rates so low for so long it gave a subsidy to governments, corporations and those using debt/leverage and to people who are savers and fixed income investors it meant there was zero risk free options, it forced people to take risk and that is awful.
My inlaws when living were retired when ZIRP first started and were living off 401k funds and a small pension, well when rates went to zero they had to switch from safety to risk to scratch out even 4-5% when at their age the risk was too high and yet that is the only option out there. So you are ok with getting a subsidy via low rates for mortgages and cheap oil and are mad when a monopoly which existed before now has control again, that is how it goes.
If you want cheap oil you have to take money from someone else to fund it, big oil will not speculate without either cheap capital or excess profits and speculative explorers cannot run an operation without extremely cheap capital and debt, and VC shops are not funding frackers with rates up here, the risk is way too high and breakevens are very high now.
The rant you make about Russia and Europe makes no sense, the 100% truth is your subsidy for cheap commodities ended when the FED reversed ZIRP thinking that would slow inflation...

Hmmm, Yahoo Finance said the averagd 401k soared from 2009 to 2019,( ZIRP years) by 466%. That's 18.93% per year. See much of that was contributions though. The S&P 500 increased over 255% during that time, an average of 13.5% per year.

Inlaws retired in 2001, maybe you are not aware about how a retiree should be invested to be low on risk, that is not being invested in a S&P index per the stats you gave.

ZIRP started after 9-11
Inlaws retired in 2001, maybe you are not aware about how a retiree should be invested to be low on risk, that is not being invested in a S&P index per the stats you gave.
If you look at the last high was 6.4 percent on FED funds rates at the end of 2000, rates went to 1% and they tried to raise them again knowing its a horrible idea, that reversed in 2007 as the FED saw the real estate bubble forming, then its been 15 plus years of historic low rates. So you wonder why the markets went up in 2009 to 2019? The FED caused the market bubble, taking away bonds and fixed income options forced anyone seeking more than 1% into the markets or get screwed by inflation.
My inlaws got chewed up with inflation, they started retirement with an small savings excess and as rates went down and healthcare inflation up, before they passed they were strongly in the reverse position of taking from their retirement assets to offset the lack of return and higher costs.
If you guys dont get that the driver of our economy and most any sector is rates then you are out to lunch. The cost of capital and debt is one of the highest issues corps, governments face in financing and running operations. If rates exceed the benefit of using the debt then corps especially will reconsider the possibility of risk capital and expansion, so if you want cheap oil then make debt cheap or free, if you want tons of people owning a home lower rates...

I get what your saying although I see ZIRP really beginning after the housing crash. Rates were very low 2002-2005.
No one says life is fair. My mother died of cancer before she retired, my mother-in-law passed from kidney failure in her 50's. Father-in-law worked til almost 70 and had one year of retirement until massive heart failure took him.
I count my blessings!

The chart I linked said it all, rates went from 6.4 to 1, that is ZIRP, then I think it was dumb Ben who thought it would make a bubble and tried to reverse it but in doing so caused the implosion of the CDO market and the FED had to wind up ZIRP even more, but even the reversal did not take rates back to where they were in 2000.
My comments were about your partisan moaning about Biden and how Trump was the reason for the markets, for low oil etc...which is 100% false and I have to point out how the FED runs this show, not Trump and not Biden. You want low oil? Take subsidies from one group and give them to another, that is how big smug Texas had their bragging moment but now you do not hear their jawboning because oil and gas exploration costs more and firms are not risking so Texas keeps their traps shut as they should have all along.
Trump did not cause low oil, Biden did not cause inflation, the markets and the economy are bigger than the POTUS and it takes a long long time for the wheels to move and most reasons for the movement is more due to rates and leverage than anything else.

So Trump who carried a big mouth and a little stick did more for the border than Biden who knows the wall scam and yell at the media does not make the problem go away is the one responsible?
You cant throw a few bucks at thousands of miles of border like Trump did, half do the job and the solution is a laugher at best and think that it solves anything. The border solution would take a daily, weekly, monthly investment of millions of man hours, thousands of skilled people, billions in technology and infrastructure and a commitment for 100 year of spending TRILLIONS and executing to perfection to make a difference. Trump sure ran his fat mouth about the border but did nothing of substance but for sure he blamed everyone who knew he was a joker for his suggestions and plan because when HE could not execute there is NEVER ownership and responsibility...its always that the liberal media and the liberals in politics stopped him. Yes that is the sign of a real leader and someone who gets the job done.

Your "partisan moaning" is getting this thread nowhere.
I plan on getting back on the subject.
An FBI supervisory special agent told congressional investigators that the Biden transition team and Secret Service headquarters were tipped off in December 2020 about a planned interview of Hunter Biden—a tip-off that resulted in the interview of then-President-elect Joe Biden’s son not taking place at all, even while he was labeled the target of the yearslong federal investigation.
The agent, who worked for the FBI for more than two decades and retired from the bureau last year, participated in a transcribed interview under oath behind closed doors at the House Oversight Committee last month.
That we sought to interview Hunter Biden."
The agent said he believes the Biden transition team was notified of the intent to interview Hunter Biden as well, and said he was "upset" when he learned of that communication.
"I felt it was people that did not need to know about our intent," he said. "I believe that the Secret Service had to be notified for our safety, for lack of confusion, for deconfliction, which we would do in so many other cases, but I didn’t understand why the initial notification."
IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified that the Biden transition team and the Secret Service were "tipped off" about the planned interview of Hunter Biden. The agent corroborates Shapley's testimony.
