I do dispute that Iceland has a 90% vax rate. Maybe adults only. Overall it's about 71% that I see.
Would not say vaccine doesn't work. To prevent an infection, yes, but it has shown to greatly lessen the severity of an infection.
Now, if only our Adminsitration could be straight forward and stop bullshiting people.

Singapore is 53% fully vaxed, so 44% of infections vaxed is pretty high.

Not all covid cases deserve the same degree of concern. Unvaccinated people are still at higher risk of infection, hospitalization and death. Breakthrough infections among the vaccinated don't prove vaccines don't work. As expected, the greater the share of population vaccinated, the bigger the share of covid cases. So if population is 100% vaccinated, 100% of cases should come from the vaccinated.
Actually, infection rate is lower for fully vaccinated people who are also far less likely to suffer serious illness. After achieving herd immunity via vaccination, number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths are lower now than months ago. Iceland is one of the first nations to lift most covid restrictions. Life has pretty much returned to normal.

This is heartbreaking to anyone with a heart and a soul (ie, those who are NOT trump worshippers)
Personally, I don't want anyone to die, not even those ignorant ones who made a series of bad choices that put them in a dire situation. I wish the trump-vaccine was an actual fast-acting ONE HOUR CURE to eliminate all covid from the body - but it isn't - nor was it ever expected to be. Once the covid has invaded the upper respiratory tract and taken hold the situation is bleak. Even among those who ultimately survive - including younger people and including those otherwise in previous good health - many are still reporting long-term negative effects from their bout with covid....some unable to return to work because of it.

A "growing body of evidence" does not give specific numbers or specif proof, yet. Vaccines helps protect those who are the most at risk against the virus from sever side effects (this group more than likely makes up a large percentage of that 99% hospitalizations IMO). Those who are at more risk should highly consider the vaccine for the short term gains while those who are not in the high at risk category are probably considering the long term effects (that have not been studied) with and without the vaccine. Giving the public mixed information and signals needs to be fixed in order to get everyone on the same page. Mixed information is not helping the cause.

But this DELTA variant is a curve ball on the outside corner for sure.
The trump vaccines were designed to counter the original strain of the virus. They can't possibly know how a virus will mutate when manufacturing those vaccines.
We also know, that if covid-original flavor or the DELTA variant (or any other variant) is allowed to spread unchecked as a result of failing to achieve herd immunity (via early vaccinations) then those viruses and their more soon-to-mutate offspring will at some point become immune to the current trump-vaccines and we are back at GROUND ZERO once again. The Biden admin sees this well and is making every reasonable effort to get people vaccinated but it has since stalled bigly -- largely because of those REFUSING the trump-vaccine. There's no mixed messaging there. They've been saying for several months to get the trump-vaccine and bent over backwards to make it easier.
