*DELTA* is indeed the overwhelming dominant strain of covid, according to the experts, and so the infections we see today are almost entirely *DELTA* -- not the original covid-19 for which the vaccines were SPECIFICALLY developed. 

Now if everyone was vaccinated with a brand new vaccine devloped specifically for *DELTA* and infections and hospitalizations still continued to surge -- THEN I would have serious concerns.  But no such vaccine exists.   We are in effect battling a significantly DIFFERENT virus with a vaccine FOR ORIGINAL COVID-19 that by sheer dumb luck just happens to afford some decent protection (not great, but fairly decent) against this new *DELTA* strain.   Mind you, EVERY SINGLE DAY, as *DELTA* passes from one maskless idiot to another, *DELTA* is mutating further.  And as a result, soon the 66% protection quoted a month ago will wane further to below 50% then 40% then practically useless. 

We will need a new vaccine like we do every year for the common flu.  Except this virus is 10X more deadly than the common flu.

Maine and Vermont report that vast majority of cases, hospitalizations and deaths occur among unvaccinated population.  Unvaccinated people continue to drive transmission of virus and hospitalizations.  Vaccination rates are too low against more contagious delta variant.

I no longer have compassion for those who choose not to get vaccinated.

Measles and Smallpox are to completely unrelated conditions caused by unrelated classes of viruses. One is virtually non-existent. The other one is essentially non-existent, extremely rare. (Thanks to vaccination. Go figure.) The Delta Variant of the SARS-CoV2 strain of coronavirus, and earlier Alpha variants are literally and definitively the same viruses. They are the same strain of the same virus. They are variants. In a correction of nomaclature to fubah, covid 19 is not a virus. It is a condition caused by the SARS-CoV2 strain of the coronavirus, so named because it is the second strain categorized as causing SARS, a severe and potentially deadly respiratory/pulmonary syndrome. Coronaviruses constitutes a very large class of viruses but one thing that they have in common is their spike proteins. This is where they get the name coronaviruses, their spike proteins giving them "crowned" appearance under microscope.  Think of the corona of a solar eclipse. So given that each of the current vaccinations are based specifically on the spike protein. The J&J vaccine manipulates the genetics of a different virus, an adenovirus, to give it the appearance of a coronavirus via spike proteins.  The mRNA vaccines literally program your own body to create spike proteins, that it is supposed to in turn recognize as invasive, and destroy. Let that sink in. It's mind blowing. Actual bio-hacking. Exciting stuff. And also very scary. I'm getting off in the weeds here.

To say that the Delta Variant, and earlier variants, are different viruses, to compare them to smallpox and measles, neither of which is the actual name of a virus, is categorically wrong. They are the same. And as trap said, there isn't a swinging heater in the forum that can tell the difference between earlier Alpha variant, the Delta variant, the Landa variant, the Mu variant, or any of the subvariants in between. We know they all have spikes, which is what these vaccines are suppose to be targeting.

Now in all fairness to the vaccine makers, 66% efficacy, which I believe is the lowest, coming from the Pfizer, 66% is actually extremely good for a respiratory virus vaccine. By comparison, in any given flu year, a 66% effective vaccine would be a win. With a flu virus they are essentially guesstimating at coming mutations. It's a little bit of a crapshoot. With this, they started from an existing variant of an existing strain of virus and reverse engineered a vaccine.

there was never any promises made nor even any suggestion that those vaccines would provide exactly the same very high level of protection ( over 90% ) against any succeeding mutations 

and so  the implied or stated rightwing media rhetoric that point to specific communities who r almost fully vaccinated against that original strain ( over 90% efficacy) but then get slammed by  the highly infectious rates of delta  r deliberately misleading the public into think the vaccines dont work

According to Daily mail, England chief medical officer is expected to approve vaccination for teenagers.  Heart inflammation is a rare and mild side effect occurring up to 1 in 15,000 teenagers after 2 doses.  University of California study found this risk after 1 dose is so low that covid hospitalization is twice as likely.  Israel study found covid infection is 4 times more likely to cause heart inflammation than vaccines.  The proportion of people saved from covid hospitalization after vaccination is higher in all age groups.

 I don't see why you two feel the need to personally attack me, and gang up, when I have tried my best to just not address you. I never refer to either of you in conversation with others. I never jump to the defense of others when you are attacking them, nor interject myself into things for no other reason but to instigate yet this seems to be modus operandi for you two. I have no personal beef with third. Have never had an issue with him. I do have an issue with the nature of some of his posts.
