They will dip into their nest egg to pay the mortgage, health care, car payments etc & not because they want to but because they have to.

If they don't, then the vultures will swoop in & gobble up what they can.

The rich own stock, the middle class own homes and the poor own the clothes on their backs and very little more.

Bezos has a winning business model like most of the mega rich. People like him help build the country not destroy it. Competition not regulation will even the playing field.

Public health experts say Trump's early denial of pandemic slow US response.  Delay has proven to be costly.  35,000 lives could have been saved in the US if social distancing and other mitigations began a week earlier according to Columbia university.  This highlights the importance of early intervention against exponential growth of virus spread.  Without social distancing, there could be up to 35 times more coronavirus cases according to University of Kentucky study.  Also Institute of health metrics estimate millions of cases if there is no mitigation.  Previously, Trump brags about saving millions of lives in theory.  However that is based on the unrealistic assumption of no restrictions.  No lockdown of schools and businesses.  No big gatherings.  No hand washing.  No social distancing.

So, what do you think will happen ?   Will President Trump blink and wear a mask...or will Gov.Wittmer back down?

Reality is that more people are going to die FROM thisTyrannical lockdown than because of any of the phony mitigations you keep using that come from the Big Pharma mockingbirds who are paid to sing their song.

I agree it's not conjecture. My concern is that many of the 368 million lost jobs will not return. Some small businesses will just fade away while others are so highly leveraged the debt may just crush them. 

Businesses are already making changes. Last night the boss wanted pizza, a calazone and some garlic rolls & we placed an order with a local joint. They  are known for their garlic rolls but these were half the size previously served. The marinara for the calazone was in a much smaller container & no where enough to really enjoy it. Luckily we always have a jar or two of Rao's on hand. Same price for less product may become a common theme.

Changes are on the way on how business is conducted.

I think it has 10 or 11 tables. It's almost impossible to make a reservation and people like sportswriter Dick Schaap had a table for 4 reserved every Monday night for about 15 years.

In the Rao's cookbook containing many of their recipes, Schaap wrote the preface for one of the books. He talked about people offering to pick up the tab if he would take them to Rao's & sometimes he would do that. When out of town on assignments, his wife and son would bring guests. He brought umpire Steve Palermo who being Italian thought he died and went to heaven after eating at the restaurant. Others he took to Rao's were Jerry Lewis, Phil Simms (after he won the Super Bowl ,Bo Jackson, Tom Seaver, Bill White and Maria Navratilova et al. 

He tells a story about taking a young Billy Crystal to Rao's and that Crystal was shocked to see who else was eating in this tiny joint in Harlem. Lawyer Roy Cohn was at one table, Mariah Carey at another and the infamous Claus von Bulow at another table. 

My little sister was a big shot @ Pfizer in NYC & represented the company's marketing efforts in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. They held their kick-of meeting @ Rao's and she told me that she wished she could have "bottled" the smell inside the restaurant. BTW...if anyone collects Olympic stuff, she has plenty of swag left if interested....caps, shirts, key chains,. pens etc.

Anyway, we've been fans of Rao's for quite a while.

So it was never necessary before but now it is? The mask is to protect you? No, it's to CONTROL YOU.

How come the media sources sheep like you adhere to always say things like "many studies show" but never cite any actual studies? In real scientific journalism you read things like "...a study by so and so..." or "a recent such and such univerity study...". And there is usually an extensive citations page. Facebook journalism: "There are many many studies done by guys that are bigly smart. Top men. Top.... men." Why is that. Every so often there will be a quote from a "doctor", half of which don't exist. The half are usually discredited outcast. That doesn't mean i'm saying you should truat the medical establishment. Quite the contrary. I believe you should trust that industry less than carnival barkers. What I am saying is if you are going to say, "many studies...", and you want to appear credible, you should cite sources. Frankly, you should always cite sources. Otherwise, you're essentially just writing an op-ed style piece.

Thousands of Floridians are still waiting for unemployment checks. System unavailability, phone calls that ring busy & once a claim is filed, the applicant cannot get a status of their claim online.

In response, Governor DeSantis reported the system has been available (except on weekends for maintenance) and that most of the issues being experienced are because of missing data from applicants. 

The end result is the state doesn't have personnel to contact applicants and applicants can't get in touch with anyone in the Unemployment Office to get an update on their claim. 

It's major CLUSTERFUCK!

My mother and law has had iasues in Oregon. Of the people I know collecting in Cali I think some have had issues, others no problem. Haven't really asked them too much about it. Their business kind of thing.

I know Michigan and other states had initial problems based on pure volume. I get that. But we are what 4 or 5 weeks into this now.

Can you imagine a major company like American Express or Walmart or Exon having computer related problems impacting customers for this length of time?

Brevard County, north of Vero Beach, is hosting a 70 team baseball tournament for kids 9-14 during this holiday weekend. Close to 2,000 people are expected.

I love baseball; played it almost my entire life. But I wouldn't let my grandchildren play in this tournament. I don't know these other parents,, or the tournament directors or the concession people. I don't know if local hotels or restaurants have been defunkasized or not.

County Commissioner Curt Smith said it's vital that the tournament be successful. OK, cool. But then he goes on to say "it's going to be a big breath of fresh air for the economy." Wut? Wut? Wut? This is about your local economy? WTF?

I hope it goes well but I think it is way too early.
