Covid-19 Good And Bad

Was saying Coronavirus cases were at 15 and soon be down to zero in March a better strategy? Was downplaying the severity of covid and avoiding a mask mandate for 4 months a good strategy? Was saying anyone that wants a test can get one in March when they weren't even readily available a solid strategy? 

Like you said Trump halting flights from China did not do anything because Americans working or conducting business in China were still permitted to come back. So what did that actually achieve? So you just admitted that all Trump really did was put a meaningless flight ban from China in place and that was it? I think some of the Dems definitely could have and would have done more than that.

After the Trump administration announced the travel restriction, Biden said that Trump had a “record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering.” in reference to the ban..

Binden was upset, that President Trump closed the border with China due to coronavirus..This is an example of what the Left would do..open borders,, just like our Southern borders..the oppisite of what President Trump did.

I believe many Americans already have their minds made up as to who they are voting for. It’s the undecided voters that will really decide the outcome.  I would like to know why sleepy Joe hasn’t named his VP yet? Why is it such a secret?

So what would the left have done?

We have thousands waiting in their cars to be tested & then waiting another 7 to 10 days to get their results which are at that point almost worthless.

Trump never had a plan. He's not working on a plan. He will never have a plan. 

A "Lefty" is not President right now, so who cares? 

Again, a capable leader applying medical science, common sense, and reasoning could have enacted any of the measures listed below, regardless of political party affiliation. 

Mandated mask wearing 2-3 months ago, and informed all the Republican led states to hold off on re-opening their state economies until further information on COVID-19 was discovered, and the virus was under control. Perhaps have the states meet all of the criteria established by the CDC before re-opening, which none of the states actually achieved. 

Perhaps refrain from holding re-election rallies in states with utpicks in covid cases like Oklahoma 

Just a few of the measures which could have occurred with capable leadership.

I wondered who made the decision to say ‘essential workers’ to be open and who had to be closed? In essence all businesses are essential.

The states (governors)... not the federal government .. are the ones that need to speed up testing against the coronavirus

I know the things I wish had been done from my "Moderate/Independent" POV and you have listed several. 

But it always comes back to this:

Our duly *IMPEACHED* trump is in charge....all this is on HIS watch!

If he's gonna brag & boast AND TAKE CREDIT FOR the conditions of our nation when times are GOOD (like he ALWAYS does)

then he damn well OWNS the responsibility for the conditions of our nation when times are BAD.

Suree. Yes, the Federal Government should play no role in supporting the states with test speed and efficiency. 

The truth is the Governor's are each running their own coronavirus response with guidelines from the CDC.

California hasn't fully reopened, mandated masks a month ago and yesterday had +10,278 new cases and 120 deaths.

Does Trump have the power to mandate states to reopen businesses or close businesses? No

USA 50,403,896 tests which is way more than any other county.

First, at one point trump stated he has "total authority" and it is "absolute" in direct reference to what he can do inside individual states.

Second, China has done more tests. (Worldometers)

Third, for a fair comparison we look at PER CAPITA numbers -- and the USA is 23rd in population testing

Fourth, that states are being left to fend for themselves  should NOT be the case

Fifth, much (not all but much) of this would not have been necessary - including the current rise in cases/hospitalizations/deaths in California and elsewhere -- had trump acted sooner, as the Columbia University research team uncovered.

Sixth, it was the leadership of the mayors and Governors to lockdown and prevent an even worse catastrophe than we already have -- not trump.....If anything HE openly resisted the whole idea most of the time!

If Trump were to impose orders that bind everyone to stay at home or wear masks, his constitutional authority to do so would be highly contested as a matter of both separation of powers and federalism.

Trump sends in Federal Agents to protect federal buildings and Governor Kate Brown filed a lawsuit, seeking a restraining order. LOL

But yeah if Trump tried to take control of the pandemic the left would have followed his lead. LOL

Protecting people by requiring them to wear masks is slightly different than sending in federal agents to beat unarmed Navy veterans in the streets with batons for no reason. 

Right, because he doesn't have the right to impose it on any given state.

But he should *LEAD* and facilitate a coordinated response, like other countries did...That's all the people wanted.

Trump offered assistance with coronaviorus to all state governors ..

In fact.....New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ) said that President Trump's assistance with the state's response has been " very creative ," and that he has been "fully engaged on trying to help New York."..Cuomo said the Vice President and President have responded very quickly to all of their requests.

Gov, Gavin Newsom California stated that he has had long conversations with the President's administration and that he has followed through on every single thing

Nevertheless MOST (not all but most) of which would NOT even be a big issue had trump acted sooner, as shown clearly in the Columbia University research...which I believe trump then condemned as a liberal hoax and fake news....his "go to" quotes he likes to keep handy at all times...
