All I am doing is quoting statements from previous candidates of your beloved tea party.
I'm sure this guy will be different.
As for attacks, you may want to review post 68.

All those statements I posted were made by previous tea party candidates. I know you believe that all women love rape, women can stop preganancy from rape, happy-marriage can be cured by therapy, etc.
There is a reason these candidates lose in general elections.
ah no you didn't say it was a statement made by previous TEA party candidates .....

Actually, all he did is make sheep think he is something different.
You do realize those mindless "sheep" showed up over 40% more in this primary

Yep. He will say something like that on the campaign in the general election (or something about blacks, etc.) just like most of the other tea party candidates.
As I said earlier, these tea party candidates do no one any good. They allow left wing spend and tax Dems appear moderate

How does Cantor's stance differ from this:
I could live with a deal that includes effectively shutting down the border, deporting all that have committed crimes other than being here illegally, and providing legal status to those already here and established in the community. Seems fair. However, a fair deal will never come about due to the politics involved.
Cantor's stance was for allowing for a path to citizenship. My comment was for allowing legal status but no citizenship ever for those here illegally.

If they are granted legal status, they are here legally.

True but that doesn't mean that they have to be granted citizenship or have the right to vote.

There you go again playing the "B" word card..

So what you are saying is we should make those who are legally here second class citizens?
Why stop at no right to vote? They should ride the back of the bus, not be able to sit at seat counters, drink out of the same fountains as others, etc.
Perfect idea. I think the poster above me will love it.

What I'm saying is that for those that are here and working, as you stated earlier, grant them a type of work visa that allows them to stay here to work and have legal status as in not being deported just because they are here illegally, but can still be deported if they commit a crime. Since they are not citizens of this country, they cannot vote. I think waiving the deportation portion that they are currently facing in exchange for no citizenship is more than fair. Of course if they don't like that deal, they can return to their own country and try to get here legally. Their choice, just as it was their choice to break the law by coming here illegally.

I actually love your idea now.
I think someone that escapes death in his country, brings his family to the US, works 70 hours a week to provide and shows the world that anyone who works hard enough can achieve the American dream, coaches little league for his kids, pays taxes, attands church, and is dedicated to the community should always have more rights than those born here who commit crimes, never work, collect welfare, and do drugs.
Its funny because right wingers are always saying that we should reward those who work hard over those who don't. Who knew that they only meant that depending upon where you were born.

Sorry it's not as simple as that. We cannot just open our borders for anyone to come in. Despite how our government and businesses have acted and continue to, we have immigration laws.
People that work hard should be rewarded but they also should follow the law at the same time not just ignore those pesky little immigration laws. I also call BS on the escaping death thing. Not doubting that they are some that have but the vast majority of people here illegally have done so just to either find work, have a better place to live, live off our govt, or engage in criminal activity.

It is quite narrow minded to think that having 11, 20, 30 million illegal aliens in this country doesn't have very serious negative consequences.
Sure there are some that come here and are hard working people and just want a better life for themselves and their family, but to ignore all the bad that has happened due to our refusal to protect our borders is nonsense. Gang activity, ID theft, murders, rapes, theft are all increased by the US allowing in so many illegals. Some people deported multiple times only to come right back over and commit more felonies. The facts on this are not in dispute and are settled.

Forgot to add, show me that one guy that fits this description and I'll personally back his right to citizenship.
And yes, people who commit crimes, never work, collect welfare and do drugs should have restricted rights. Great idea!

DJ, would it make your head explode if I told you that I've been in Mexico for the last 10 days with 4 more to go?
We are actually here to get my wife her permanent resident visa. It took four years and thousands of dollars but we want to do it legally.

Wall, you cannot deny that there has been an increase in the crimes I have mentioned because of illegal immigration. It has nothing to due with the color of ones skin, it has to do with the fact the we have allowed millions of hard core criminals to come over here and run free.
I have said on these forums previously that we should allow for more legal immigration for those that have no criminal record and can come here and contribute something. Kicking out those that do not meet the profile doesn't work because we haven't secured the border. We can secure the border if we wanted to. Do that and the rest is much easier.
Agree that most people are generally the same regardless of where they come from. I have had some great conversations in Mexico with locals and have gained a great insight into their way of life and the issues their government places on them. These people work their tails off and have very little. Seeing little kids walking up and down the beach with their parents or older siblings is simply heartbreaking. I know they do this on purpose to get the Americanos to buy goods from them but still....We stopped for tacos the other night at 2am and there were kids aged 5-10 trying to sell items to us. Felt so bad for those kids.
I don't blame anyone trying to better their lives but at the same time we cannot take everyone in. We cannot take the poor people from every country in the world or the US will collapse under the weight.
