The Gateway Pundit, a right-wing website known for peddling falsehoods and conspiracy theories, published another inaccurate article related to the 2020 election on Tuesday -- and its false claims were echoed on Twitter by some Republican figures with substantial followings.
The saga began with The Gateway Pundit's initial headline.

It read:

"**HUGE BREAKING NEWS** --

Wisconsin Assembly Votes to Withdraw Its 10 Electors for Joe Biden in 2020 Election -- VIDEO."

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NYT, WaPo, MSNBC, Twitter, Facebook, Google and every other outlet in the US peddled inaccurate information about Hunter Biden’s laptop at the height of the Presidential election in the United States. 

You don’t care about that. Oh noooo. You’re focused on an inaccurate article from the Gateway Pundit about the Wisconsin Assembly.

Thomas supports the coup attempt resulting from THE BIG LIE

(CNN) The House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riot has in its possession more than two dozen text messages, 29 in total, between former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, a conservative activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, according to multiple sources familiar with the messages.
These text messages, according to sources, took place between early November 2020 and mid-January 2021. Thomas recently revealed that she attended the pro-Trump rally that preceded the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021

Ginni Thomas regularly checked in with Meadows to encourage him to push claims of voter fraud and work to prevent the election from being certified.

Thomas wrote to Meadows on November 19, 2020,
"Sounds like Sidney and her team are getting inundated with
mountains of evidence of [Democrat] fraud. Make a plan!
Release the Kraken and save us from the left taking America down."

By the end of November, Thomas was getting increasingly frustrated
with the lack of progress of the attempt to find a path to overturn the
results that the majority of Americans voted for.
On November 24, 2020 she wrote:
"I can't see Americans swallowing the obvious fraud."

Thomas wrote to Meadows that she was angry with then-Vice President
Mike Pence for not taking the steps necessary to block the certification
of the election results.
          "We are living through what feels like the end of America.
            Most of us are disgusted with the VP."
Thomas' messages reflected a belief that the legal challenges presented by a group of conservative lawyers helping the campaign were valid. She attempted to convince Meadows to put his faith in the hands of Powell, who had spent the weeks following the election claiming to have "mountains of evidence of fraud" that NEVER materialized.

Trump is under scrutiny over a gap of seven hours and 37 minutes in the White House's call logs on the day of the Capitol riot. The absence of these call records has also prompted the House January 6 committee to investigate what one unnamed lawmaker has called a "possible cover-up."

On a 220-203 vote, with two Republicans also joining all Democrats, the House voted to hold Dan Scavino, Trump’s longtime social media manager, and Peter Navarro, Trump’s trade adviser, in contempt of Congress, triggering a review by the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington.

“They are in contempt of Congress, which is a crime," Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), chair of the committee, said on the House floor.

They do have bonafide proof the Trump did make multiple calls during that time

January 6th is the Trump haters' equivalent of the 'Reichstag Fire' which was used in 1933 to pass the 'enabling act' which led to the stripping away of all power from the people and allowed Hitler to create a totalitarian dictatorship. 

Yet these same phonies overlook the attacks including setting fire to a church and federal building in the capitol in the Summer of 2020. Scores of secret service agents were injured in front of the White House from these thugs.

You see it isn't called insurrection when they do it...they call it peaceful protest. 

"But let me be very clear to you and I have been very clear to the President. He bears responsibility for his words and actions. No if, ands or buts," McCarthy told House Republicans on January 11, 2021, according to the audio obtained by CNN. "I asked him personally today, does he hold responsibility for what happened? Does he feel bad about what happened? He told me he does have some responsibility for what happened. And he needs to acknowledge that."
