 You are not protecting women by attacking one you question if they have an outlier. What is your opinion on Ledecky?  Do you think she has an advantage from her build and her genetics over the women swimmers? If you look at her and you look at pretty much any other female swimmer it sure looks like it.

The thing is you cant attack someone you THINK is different without proof that they are. That is slander...and why is it that the GOP media side goes for slander as a means for getting support? Like mentioned here the Trump-NC machine is ramping up their Harris attacks its all personal and it is all flame throwing, and it is NOT about issues and it is NOT about policy it is NOT about topics that matter, its all mud slinging slander garbage.

 That quote on any other day might not mean anything but in CONTEXT it means everything. You did not properly position the timing of his remarks or include the remarks his VP made or the remarks that other GOP noise makers made. Its all a collective attack and you cannot hide behind context unless you properly use it.

I have no reason to doubt the IOC here, and I agree with their decision. But I do have a question: Is a person’s genetic makeup in terms of X and Y chromosomes relevant? I would think so, if only in terms of whether the hormones that are produced as a result of these genes deliver a competitive advantage similar to taking supplemental hormones.

In other words, test the relevant hormones, not the genes that produce them.

It seems to me that without such a criteria (a strictly applied testosterone level for all), it would be impossible to determine where to draw the line. In the meantime, the IOC is right not to impose a ban based on hearsay or alleged differences in genetic makeup. Surely we can’t be testing athletes for their chromosomal makeup. That would seem to me to be an invasion of privacy and unnecessary. More relevant and practical would be the measurement of hormone levels, including testosterone and cortisol. Differences in sex development, as these two competitors allegedly have, is no one’s business. But a standard for hormones and their impact on athletic prowess is highly relevant.

I cannot agree more. Test the hormone levels (T) and I and the rest of the world need not know what X's and Y's you have. Just make it fair to all females.

Absurd that women with genetic differences are discriminated against and harassed. This is not about protecting women in sports. This is about protecting a stereotype of what a woman is. This is bigotry.

Some top athletes are natural freaks of nature but this doesn't mean they should be banned. For example, Serena Williams. Odd that elevated testosterone is seen as an unfair advantage. 20% of women suffer from poly cystic ovary syndrome which can cause hormonal imbalance such as excess testosterone.

Anyone can identify as whatever they want. These boxers failed the genetics testing. If they were born as a female but have male chromosomes, they should not be allowed to fight other XX females. Trust the science, right?

 There is slander because there is no proof, it is intentional attacking of the person without having the proof to support it. That is slander.

The problem is that the GOP hate machine has no fear of prosecution or penalty for destroying the lives of ANYTHING to do with the DNC or that is against the Trump-NC agenda.

Also please make sure to include ALL the players, all of them including Fox including Greene including the Mountain Man, including all of the hate machine parts.

Trying to protect the integrity of a sport is not slander, hate or any other claim of destroying. 

Not testing for and using testosterone in women athletics leaves no choice for all women to "juice up" or be left behind. The IOC is beyond absurd! 

Who woulda thought the day would come when a leader would even have to say "no men in women's sports" let alone be attacked with vile hatred and demands to be sued and destroyed. 

As far as "proof" this athlete has in the past been disqualified in the past for failing gender tests. What male enhanced genetic qualities does this athlete have?

 It is telling how times have changed and how brazen and lawless some people are. Decades back there was real fear of prosecution and penalty from publishing, reporting even suggesting slanderous claims without PROOF. Now its whatever the crap goes and especially for those with 10 layers of lawyers and opaque PAC cash to spend if there are actual charges ever considered to be brought.

Remember even as far back as Watergate that those reporters did not break the story without substantial proof and evidence that would be iron clad in court. Now it is say whatever you want without recourse even if it harms someone. It helps when the someone being harmed has no resources to defend themselves and the zero bully can stomp all over them and have no fear of reprisal or prison time.

Now media empires have too much power and individuals do not respect society and our legal system. The fact that the only tool of respect is financial impact means that anyone with deep pockets can wreck anyone they deem as a threat or even worse destroy someone just to get attention and votes.

THE PROOF IS THE SCIENCE (in this case, the science has centuries of years of testing). These humans have male traits! What do you not understand about that?  Im saying before the Trump-NC machine slanders there should be proof FIRST.

The problem is this, the Trump-NC is not interested in the Olympics or equity for women in sports...they are interested in the sensational, in being square in front of the issues of the day and getting attention, drawing eyes to content and to the vote booth.

If the Trump-NC really cares about the Olympics and gender equity then take it through the responsible, legal channels and spend resources and time investigating the issues. Obtain change through respectful and legitimate channels.

Slander doesn't take on the same meaning anymore especially those that put themselves in the public eye...you see that in business a lot where a customer takes to social media to slander a business without having to substantiate their claims and thus ridiculing a business to defend claims or let it go...it's what being open to this type of behavior has become...

You talk about repercussions but could the same not be said about employees suing an employer based on frivolous accusations? There is zero repercussions to those who file and lose and yet a business had to incur financial responsibility to defend a matter that was not proven to be accurate. Should that employee not burden the financial responsibility to reimburse that business if they are found to not have a valid claim? A business has to pay the employees legal expense to defend should they lose.

My point is, there are many injustices out there and when you open yourself up to the public then you are subject to ridicule whether it is right or wrong. Just like this site, who allows users to make accusations and allegations to discredit a user with or without proof. It happens and it's what one is subject to being in the public.

The world is much different than it ever used to be.

 In the political landscape there are deep pockets so those with deep pockets can slander as a narrative and they DO so. In the case of a business and a customer, unless that business has deep pockets they for sure are at risk of loss.

This chasm of inequity and unfairness is getting worse because the current front runner has multiple layers of lawyers and deep pool untraceable cash due to idiots supporting him and corps trying to leech on for their purposes.

It is true that social media in many respects has wrecked society, in the case of small business and in the case of the larger social framework as we see pretty much daily through this toxic social media quagmire.

And I only see the social media aspect getting worse...what it has done, however, is exposed news media outlets when otherwise that is how news was distributed so you tended to believe what they told you...that is no more and long gone which means many were lied to for decades and had no idea...

That is unacceptable 

They should be punished - but only if they lean liberal or democrat 

If they lean conservative or republican - especially MAGA - then no, we should all just look the other way and let them get away with it  just like Trump's pending criminal case if he wins the election
