@THEMUGG How many previous presidents did not exit the area? Just one or is it many many more? You say things in such a silly partisan way it is difficult to take anything said seriously. There is and was no easy exit there or it would have been done long ago. So quit blaming the guy who got stuck with the task, a task which had no chance at success and the previous twenty plus years show this fact. When someone seeks out ways to throw dirt on someone it looks like you soak up any and everything and fail to use common logic in your analysis. But hey using your logic its any blame on Biden and those libs is good enough for you.

republicans got us into that afghan mess
and the loser which millions of magas r defending kept us there for 4 more yrs with enormous financial cost
but president biden got us out

I questioned you with the childish emoticon you used, not any words. You rarely if ever actually explain yourself just follow along and cheer what other partisan conservatives here say. I asked for you to do more than just your usual emoticon.
You gave ZERO context about the situation just taking another chance to slap Biden and blaming him for an exit that no other president dared to take and the result was never going to be good. Why did Trump kick the can? Why didnt Bush Lite get the US out of the area? The answer is because they knew it would blow up and was impossible so Biden got stuck with the task. I guarantee HE didnt want the task either because he was also in politics the entire time and didnt take action to change the situation.
As I said, if you want to find a reason to smear Biden you are one of the first to jump on the pile. The DNC is not my party, in fact Ive stated MANY times that Biden is a lifer crappy politician and I call him out when it is warranted. This event was not his doing or his fault it is the nature of that region and it will never be an area where things get better.

Dont give Biden credit he had no choice, Trump forced it on him and there was no other way for him to proceed. Biden did nothing great but at least he didnt kick the can like Trump did.

At some point we have to come to an understanding between the difference of what moderating is or should be and what wholly and thoroughly attempting to dominate the discussion by way of bullying tactics because they do not align with what your beliefs is …..
with all due respect you are overtaking the rhythm and the flow of the discussion in here way too severely . You need to step in and interject to keep things moving along and moderate . People are allowed to have their opinions without being attacked to such a strong degree for them .
if you want to express your opinions and participate in the discussion in the manner that you do then you need to renounce and relinquish your moderator status here in this forum because it is too much a conflict on interest and also unethical .
please consider stepping down and letting one of our two new moderators handle the regular day to day dealings in here .
then you can expound to your heart’s content .

Nonsense......I've dialoged plenty on here. I'm just not a cheerleader like many others, & you know who they are (one just gave you back-pat in this thread). Find anywhere on here where I've cheer-led for Trump. I don't like the guy but, unfortunately, he may be the better choice for what we've been given at this point in time. You're always quick to jump my shit whenever I post something you consider partisan to the right, but rarely do I ever see you react to the nonsense posted by others here. We've all watched Biden spew BS & lies over the L4 years but somehow the lead topic is always "Trump lies so much". As I said, opinions vary, & hearing dissenting or negative comments on Biden shouldn't surprise anyone. But when done, you construe it as "an attack"......it almost seems personal to you.
I understand your hate for Trump. He's one of the most unlikable people inside politics & out. I don't like Biden but I don't hate him. He's just a horrible politician that has milked the US for five decades. You should understand that when people read/hear all the "orange man=bad/Biden good" crap that there will be some reactions, & some push-back, that you'll disagree with.

You need to quit being sensitive given that you are part of the problem and not a solution. I am not interested in your back seat driver commentary since you add to the divide here not make it better.
If you led by example yourself instead of always telling people what to do the impact of your words would be greater, instead of the chippy mother hen sort of stuff you regularly post.
Mugg is a big boy, he posts emoticons and partisan takes, he can handle himself he does not need you to cry foul as you constantly do and step in for him. Focus on yourself and try engaging with others in a sincere way, this complaining about me having a political viewpoint is very old and very stale.

I dont hate anyone, I call out Trump for what he is and he puts this on himself not anyone else. Me pointing out his garbage mouth like his Vietnam compared to the NY dating scene is not picking on him nor hating him. I dislike blowhard bullies, in society and in here and anywhere. Ive stated my views on Biden quite often but the difference is Biden is not a derisive abusive punk like Trump so there is no way the two are alike. Biden is a lifer who did very little in his political career but he does not scorch earth everything around him and put people down as a means to elevate a hollow zero ego like Trump does. Biden with all his flaws has more respect for people and for politics than Trump..that I call out. And I call YOU out for your regular schtick as well. I know you do not like that other group, you have to co-exist with others you dislike and not make the digs and insults and poor responses. You used to be a better member than this and if you want to play those kind of games then I will call you on it because if you can dish it then you can also take it.
You never replied with the original point, why would you belittle Biden for the situation there when the exit had no chance at being clean and without chaos? If it were as easy as your side claims why did all the previous presidents not clear out of there as our purpose there is LONG gone, we have no reason to be there and yet for over twenty years we stayed...nobody dared exit the area and yet you bash Biden for being left with the mess and the end result being lousy? There was no good result there was no grand exit and that area will continue to be a disaster just like we left a atomic bomb mess in Iraq and Vietnam and Korea and most places we stuck our nose in and then left after creating a disaster.

So your logic is the exit needed to happen regardless of the outcome. And if the said outcome is poor we just blame and make excuses?
I agree with some of what you are saying but massive mistakes were made regarding the exit.Making excuses makes your stance weak regardless if you make some valid points.

I'm saying Biden got stuck with plunging the toilet that nobody else wanted to do, there was no grand exit with a parade and handing over the chocolate key to the city. We created this mess, it is not stable now and it has never been stable and since we are never interested in building infrastructure just spending on bombs and guns then how could the result be any different? That area is a disaster and worse than when we went in so the fact our exit was a wreck is par for the course there. We went in with a military objective in an area with strong divisions amongst the citizens and groups there, we were a resident not a participant we never sought to make their lives better or invested to do so. The end was exactly equal to the decades of existing there and we should not enter places for military purposes only and expect a great exit to happen.

The words that you posted towards me could easily be reflected right back to you and onto yourself . By no means do I say that I’m perfect but I have no problem at all stating that fact either . I show and display both my strengths and weaknesses and admit to them .
Can you do the same ?
And no person should lead by greater example than the moderator . Unfortunately you are too emotionally attached to your disdain for Trump , amongst other things .
with power comes responsibility . I am not attacking you . I am making my opinions clear like everyone is allowed to do . They are in regards to this forum and it’s productivity . So I see no problem with them being spoken aloud .
There are others who are worse offenders when it comes to the emoticons and partisan takes . I will not even debate that with you . I feel that they are stepped in for repeatedly so that they are allowed to continue on with their schtick and/or style . I am stepping in for Mugg because he deserves the same respect and opportunity .
do you see that point or argument ? And can you answer that question truthfully without harassing me ?

I hear ya.However there are many experts state the mistakes that were made were agregious,be it hind sight is 20/20.
We are presently spending over a billion dollars after the exit and rising.Neither candidate will properly address the waste and the fraud that is currently going on with that spending.

Add up the tab for being there twenty years longer than we should and add the tab for our Iraq mistakes, we make decisions for reasons that are flawed (Iraq) and short term or specific purposes and then we hang around well longer than we should. I'd say Korea and Vietnam were straight out mistakes as was Iraq but the cold war purpose we were in that region had merit and served its purpose but the region is unstable and without a completely overhaul it will never improve.
We like to go in and take our guns and men and shoot up the place but never do we spend the money to change the dynamic, change the local communities and try to improve things for people living there..we only approve of weapon spend and military spend then wonder why all of these end up as disasters.
I would suggest there is no way the US can go into any region in the Middle East and do so without a bad outcome, there is too much religious divide and domination of men over women, there are not even basic rights and basic needs for most people living so the US going in with tanks and guns and men just means it is going to end in a bad way and there is no chance for a positive exit. When was the last time we took a military position there and exited where things were better? I dont recall of any such examples. Biden did not keep the US there for over 20 years too long, Biden was not the only president who is responsible but he is the guy with the plunger so he gets the smear and especially from the TNC/GOP side.

Mugg can take care of himself, your interjection served no purpose. You take every opportunity to cry moderator foul and then use lousy logic about one side vs another and THERE is your flaw, I am not one side versus the other but YOU are and you cannot help yourself in hiding the flaw. To you it is one side vs the other and to me it is not. This area is based on political discussion and it does not matter which politician I like more than another. I am entitled to my political position AND I am also here to represent the rules of the site. These issues are SEPARATE but since you side with one political side you join them and try and debase being a moderator. A moderator can have views, make posts and even say things you DISLIKE, that is not an issue there is no reason for you to complain about me having a political position. My comment to Mugg was due to the silly emoticon he made and the lack of content in his reply.
We welcome discussion in every area of the site and I welcome discussion here especially and YOU lack in this area strongly, you rarely if ever discuss politics or depth of a position, you want to play teacher and tell people what to do and you chastise one side dominantly and you are biased in your political position inside this forum. You are entitled to your partisan position, nobody will take that from you but you cannot whine about moderating and discussion when it is not your place and really you do not engage in political discussion. Why are you engaging here when you really are not either motivated or equipped for political discussion? Why do you never debate/discuss content and bring value to the political discussion? Your replies are rhymes and schticks about people getting along and then partisan digs to the DNC side, faults of the collusion that the DNC side makes. They are not breaking the rules in having a quorum of their own and avoiding the trap of debate with your side. If you dislike their style and quorum then avoid it and stay OUT of their threads. They are not breaking site rules and how many times does this need to be said? I moderate rules being broken, I moderate insults and digs made from MEMBER TO MEMBER not member to politician or member to political party.
Both sides dig the other political party, that is the meat of the discussion and any member can discuss political content here, including ME. If you fault the aspect of moderation then you are not understanding when rules and abuses are taking place from the perspective of the site. Your comments are always off base because you are partisan and slighted against one group and you fail to see that the rules are about member to member interaction, not if you are a TNC fan or hate Biden or if you like the Steelers or the 49ers, we moderate member to member infractions...not if I am tough on Trump or not.
How is this needing to be said to you over and over and over and over?

It is similar to the chair game, Biden was the last one out on this thirty year gig and he is the one holding the bag for how many presidents and military leaderships before him?
Even with a telegraphed exit plan in the media it still made no difference..the entire world knew the US was edging out (to the extent we did anyway) and yet there was no soft landing on the exit. Its easy to blame a hard landing exit and make even the smallest impression it was due to a political party or politician in general but unless the other party and all the presidents before had a better strat then you and they have no claim in the crappy way it went. I have no idea how given the disaster the region is and the complete lack of infrastructure and control we have there that an exit could be smooth and without event. It isnt like that region is sectioned off and nobody can go in or out, its an open region and all we have is a very small military footprint it isnt like the military was heading to the LAX and flying home to Maryland with all the safety and comfort of the US.
How would you envision a smooth, safe, clear and clean exit? Lay it out for me in a way that given the region makes sense...instead of partisan wack-a-mole I would LOVE for someone to blue print a better outcome and have the concept be legit and possible. So anyone here is welcome to take the time and explain it in depth given the deadline we faced and the dynamics that exist. I blame all of the past admins, I blame the military and politicians for setting this situation up and for destroying the region and staying too long. I dont blame Biden any more than I blame Bush or Obama or Trump, all of them had the opportunity to do this and NONE of them did.

We do agree it is a mess over.My biggest issue is people on both sides of the aisle are getting wealthy from this debacle.I believe money is the driving force as usual.
I reread your response,I see you response less circular and more stating President Biden made a hard decision.

I used to be a better member than this? What, like when I never voiced an opinion on politics? LOL, maybe you're right. But this whole line of dialogue started because I posted one emoji that apparently irked you. I can't understand how that bothers you so much when, if you look around this forum, there are a number of posters that do the same, or copy others' posts, blow them up, & give one word replies. How valuable are those? Wait......maybe I'm just spitballing here, but perhaps it's because I slanted a pro-Biden post instead of piling on Trump some more. To you that must equate to me defending Trump, which I know you hate........& yes, I did respond about why I dissed Biden & his actions. Go back a few posts. It wasn't just this one incident, it was his whole approach.
