Despite Trump's claims, US is still terribly behind other countries in coronavirus testing. According to World health organization, US has tested only 0.2% of its population, whereas South Korea has tested 0.7%. Norway at 1.5% has the highest rate of testing. If mortality is the ultimate measure, US deaths as a percentage of total cases are 3 times higher than Norway and Germany. Some countries that implemented extensive testing early are no longer in free fall as the US is now.
Previously, Trump promised many big box retailers would offer parking lots for testing across the US. So far, only 5 out of 26,000+ stores owned by Walmart, CVS, Walgreen and Target. Trump has exaggerated the impact of his policies and potential treatments to give people false hope. In a crisis that demands trustworthy leadership, he is the worst person to reassure the nation.

0.2% of US population=660,000 people
0.7% of South Korea population=364,000 people
1.5% of Norway population=80,000 people
Wow go back to school and learn some math buddy.

Fact checker politifact rated false Trump's claim that US has tested more people in 8 days than South Korea has tested in 8 weeks. US compares poorly in testing per capita according to Institute of human virology. US tests 1084 per million while South Korea tests 6768 per million people. Also timing of testing is important. Both US and South Korea reported their first cases on the same day in January. By the end of February, South Korea conducted over 80,000 tests while only 472 tests in the US although they are desperately needed according to US center for disease control.
Beyond testing, infected people should be identified and isolated. That is a key step in stopping the spread of coronavirus, but it still hasn't happened on a wide scale in the US. However South Korea followed up tests vigorously to support quarantine according to John Hopkins school of public health. According to Kaiser family foundation, many public health experts say the US is still not running enough tests to meet demand.

Again your math is horrible. Per million changes as we have 250 mil more people. You know the truth but are trying to bring on false facts. Look back at my post on #1855.

Yes. Very good for Trump and us. Should not waste tests on well people. Only test the ones with symptoms or exposure risks.
Of course, rates for mortality are higher. We are only testing sick folks not well folks. If we testing all 330M+ we would have a really, really low mortality rate. Alas, that is not the goal though.

People do not seem to understand your last part. I read that 80% of people will be asymptomatic or with just a cough or itchy throat. I truly believe our deatt rate is below 0.1%.

Of course it is. Just like most of these. This may be a little higher than some. But nowhere near the astronomically outrageous numbers they were initially pushing out there.

Enforceable if you've got a King.
..
Also, enforceable if you are the President of the United States...Federal law gives the President vast emergency powers in times of pandemic. He could have the federal government detain individuals if their illness might wind up crossing state lines. Some even interpret the statute as meaning a president could deploy the military to cordon off a city or state.
The Centers for Disease Control, maintains that its quarantine powers go quite far. Regulations finalized by the Obama administration claim that federal officials can detain individuals if their illness could spread to other states. The rules essentially give the federal government the authority to stop and seize commuters in a bid to halt the spread of contagious disease.

Furthermore...for example the federal government issued isolation and quarantine orders during the Spanish Influenza pandemic in 1918 and 1919.
..and the Federal public health and welfare statutes also give the federal government authority to isolate and quarantine persons with certain diseases, based on an executive order issued by President George W. Fact checking by NPR and USAtoday also dispute Trump's claim that US is exceeding South Korea in coronavirus testing. US still lags behind according to American clinical lab association. Trump's comparison is misleading by omiting a key detail. Although the number of US tests now exceed South Korea's, the percentage of population that has been tested is far greater in South Korea. According to Kaiser family foundation, raw numbers are not the best measure. To account for population differences, per capital testing rate is a better measure. On a per capita basis, South Korea is testing 6 times more people than the US. According to World health organization, testing is a key measure of a country's ability in dealing with a pandemic. Currently, South Korea has declining number of new cases while US sick cases are still growing at exponential rate.
