The reason why I wanted a Bloomberg/Warren ticket is I knew they would be tough on the banking lobby. After all, Mick Mulvaney took more money from the banking lobby than anyone else, and was Trump’s chief of staff when they erased all those regulatory safeguards that keep banks from overleveraging themselves.

Then again, it’s not like banks have ever had major crises that hurt millions of people in the last 20 years amirite? 

There’s a lot of rolling around and laughing going on in here , but where is it , exactly , I mean where can I find it , please , you tell me , where can the humor be found in this horrible political melodrama that gets played out day after day , that stretches out to years , and then decades , election after election ?

Because I would like to laugh too . I swear to God I would . And people like it when I do . Cuz I got a great smile . Probably because I’m not a pusssy , because I can fight through the tingling pain and discomfort and wear those Crest White Strips for the suggested amount of time that’s recommended and written there right on the box .

Again, anytime anyone mentioned that “gee repealing the Volcker rule seems like a terrible idea” or “having payday lenders with insane interest rates next to military bases really screws the people who serve to protect us”, they were decried as libruls. Anytime anyone protested against Trump’s insane deficit spending, they were decried as RINOs or libruls.

So yeah, it’s hilarious to see today’s fascist wing of the GOP suddenly play both-sides-ism. After all, Volcker was a Republican - not that anyone in today’s GOP is smart enough to know that.

So yeah, I do get the right to laugh at dotards who frequently lie about major economic issues, then are proven drastically wrong. After all, I’m the son of a Reagan era economist - I was raised by conservatives.

Today’s fascist wing of the GOP is by far not about being economically conservative - they could care less about budgets. They don’t give a damn about inflation (which was actually reported about Trump during his presidency). 
I don’t agree with everything the Dems are doing and Biden was my fourth favorite candidate in the primaries, but they’re laughably better than the tire fire that is the competition.

That is the system, yes....how do you break that system?  

Rich donors dominate election spending in the US.  Drowning out voices of ordinary Americans.  As a result, candidates tend to be the best fundraisers instead of people with the best ideas for the country.  To fix system, US needs more transparency, public financing, limits on campaign finance and enforcement of rules. 

Unfortunately , I’m thinking it’s probably , and most likely , virtually near impossible to infiltrate this set up . There are just too many locked and loaded opportunities for money to be made on both sides of the fence . It is too firmly entrenched and deeply rooted in the way that things are done so it would necessitate a humongous change in the way people feel about the honesty and the equality of a level playing field , and what that would bring to the American people . And I know how difficult it is to become a creature of habit , and to get set in your ways , and then have someone ask or order you to go about your business in a different manner , because I always wear my sneakers on the beach , and no amount of resistance or pushback will ever have me don the apparel of flips flops or sandals . No way . Uh uh . Nope . Not doin’ it ……

Thirdperson , I second what you said , because you’re the first person that I’ve seen suggest that we put a salary cap onto campaign finances . That’s a brilliant idea . - reversing Citizens United. Corporations are “people” for the purposes of the First Amendment, but a corporation isn’t a “person” when it comes to certain criminal charges (murder, for example). As you can see with that example, Citizens United is internally inconsistent.
