Notice how they say "at the time", well, he was on a damn high speed chase SO HE WAS IN THREAT THE ENTIRE TIME. He was a moron THE ENTIRE TIME. Nobody had any idea if that kid had a gun in his car. US has a gun problem.  The most police and other types of shootings of any country in the world.  Sad consequence of having the most well armed population.

Jumping to conclusions will only do harm.  Fun fact... media has been wrong before.  If after all evidence and facts and shows wrong doing,  then cop deserves his punishment.   

Difficult job for police who must make split second decisions in dangerous situations.  As a safety precaution, scared police tend to shoot first when in doubt in dealing with population armed with millions of guns.  Senseless police shootings happen less often in other countries.

Police officer was shot is now taken off life support in Indiana.

"Officer Seara Burton’s injuries have been determined to be unrecoverable," the police Department said in a news release posted on Facebook Wednesday. "Seara will live on and continue to be a hero with her selfless gift of organ donation."

Four officers were charged with the shooting .

August 2022, the four police officers involved were charged for their roles in the botched raid that killed Breonna.Taylor.

Brett Hankison and Joshua Jaynes had already been fired by the department, but the other two, Kyle Meany and Kelly Goodlett, were fired recently.

The four now face federal charges including civil rights violations for using excessive force to using false information to obtain the search warrant that authorised the botched raid. They have also been charged with allegedly spawning a conspiracy to falsify the warrant and then cover up the falsification

The Texas police officer who shot a 17-year-old black male while he was eating a meal in a McDonald’s parking lot last week has been named, as the teen remains in critical condition, Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales said in a statement.

San Antonio Officer James Brennand was fired for violating the agency’s tactics, training and procedures, police said.

Nichols death has reignited the debate about police violence which is more common in the US than in other western countries.  Apparently, body cameras don't work to reduce violence.  Research shows other ways are more effective.  First, ensure that officers who engage in misconduct are held accountable.  Secondly, track complaints about officers who use excess force.  Third, invest in alternatives such as more community policing and mental health professionals in law enforcement.  Fourth, more training to restrict use of force such as hands off policy for foot chases.
