Here in Maine all shootings are justified by the attorney general's office.

But a closer look at what happens to officers involved in shooting citizens is destruction of their career behind the scenes they are demoted , pushed off patrol and into training. 

Mandatory counciling which leaves them broken and shattered as well as mentally defective. Most stop serving as police by the end of their current contract .

What ever career they once had is flushed. 

One difference is in training of new police.  In the US, average is over 20 weeks compared to 1-3 years in other countries.   US training is outdated, inconsistent and too brief.  Police academies resemble military boot camps which don't require critical thinking.  Officers are trained in weapons and defensive tactics.  But they need more training in soft skills such as communication, decision-making and crisis de-escalation. 

Nichols'death reignites public calls for federal police reforms.  However congress has failed to implement legislation for decades.  For example, George Floyd justice in policing act because of mostly republican opposition.

An 11-year-old Mississippi boy who was shot by a police officer after he called 911 for help is recovering after being released from the hospital, according to his family.

The family is calling for the officer to be fired and charged with the shooting.

Aderrien Murry was shot in the chest by an Indianola Police Department officer early Saturday morning while the officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call at the child’s home, according to his mother, Nakala Murry, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Murry told CNN that the father of another of her children arrived at her home at 4 a.m., “irate.”

Concerned about her safety, Murry asked Aderrien to call the police.

Murry said the officer who arrived at the home “had his gun drawn at the front door and asked those inside the home to come outside.” Murry said her son was shot coming around the corner of a hallway, into the living room.

“Once he came from around the corner, he got shot,” Murry said. “I cannot grasp why. The same cop that told him to come out of the house. (Aderrien) did, and he got shot. He kept asking, ‘Why did he shoot me? What did I do wrong?’” she said.

There are many people who should never have been allowed to become cops.  There are many people who should never have been allowed to possess firearms.

The screening processes are woefully (and often tragically) inadequate, and have been for generations.

Nothing serious is being done (thoughts and prayers are worthless).  Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result is insane.

The United States IS insane.

that’s it’s weakness that drove us apart , and the greed of old farts , who gleefully agree to keep the unevenness between what’s known , and what should be , frozen in the cold , closely guarded and armed …….

So instead we get the status quo , and detachment from growth , yet we show no alarm …..

Guns are easy to blame.. to an extent however people are foremost.. no accountability... no responsibility.. this goes for all parties.. want to blame someone... look in the mirror cause that person might be the one at fault..

 But most people understand that gun violence boils down to who's running the city , and those " mayors" are overwhelmingly dems in the big cities... how come you can't see that ? 

Republicans insist more gun violence happens in democrat cities.  But gun violence is worse in republican states.  Statistically more significant to compare states instead of cities because of larger population.  According to Third way, republican states have dominated the top 10 murder rate states from 2000 to 2020.  Even when largest cities (often democrat) are omitted from republican states, murder rates are still higher.  The 3 states with lowest rates of gun deaths are democrat with stricter gun laws. 

What about the inner city gangsters ? that bang on them hammers ? causin’ mass hysteria and calamities ? in the community ? Those that slang that heat without impunity ? Bullet holes riddled through the streets ? Between my couch cushions and my window view you seem , only concerned with one side of the barrel , when it’s all kinds of different fingers on them triggers I’m sickened the truest cowards , blast death without a thought , and unfortunately your dormant if you believe it’s just the fiends who “ keep “ the law ……
