Sadly, police violence is one of the leading causes of death for young men in the US. The risk is higher for black men. With the most armed population in the world, no surprise US has more gun violence than in other countries. Unusually more deaths than from car accidents. More than necessary, police tends to shoot first and ask questions later. Rise of black lives movement is a consequence.

What percent of gun violence comes from people in legal possession of a gun?

Yes detox it can be reasoned that police are not the primary factor for gun violence but when your guards turn on you, protected by union reps so that most misconduct is unfireable there is no accountability .
It is time to discuss who are the police and what controls that personal. It bad enough to deal with murdering lawless gangs
we dont have to as the public out fit one and provide special laws to that subset of the law enforcement soicity

I'm sure you have stats you can back that with, right?

I've never watched her. Don't know who she is. I assume you hear her name on Newsmax TV?
I don't think police kill people based on the color of their skin. I believe that many aspects of society view the life of a non-white person differently than of a white. The Supreme Court agreed with this in Furman v. Georgia and I have written extensively on this subject.

And when you say society views non-white lives differently are you including Asians in that? If you are, what specific statistics are you using to say society views Asian lives differently? I don’t believe you’ll answer this because it will blow a hole in your initial argument.
Yeah because Asian-Americans aren't being unjustly attacked in America at all today for no reason other than race/ethnicity. You must be the most unaware, misinformed poster in the forum. Seriously.

That’s interesting. What do you make of the fact that black people make up 12% of the population and commit more than 50% of the murders in this country? Do you think that statistic is important to this discussion? Of course you don’t. Why don’t you?
Whether you realize it or not (surely the latter), you have just supported my thesis.
You used a statistic on perpetrators to counter my argument on how society perceives non-white victims.
You, like so many others, view non-white lives differently because you rely on a statistic to presume justification of deaths.

Sure I’ll answer.
The response is that in the area of criminal law, Asian-Americans make up a statistical insignificant portion of the population, making it difficult to quantify anything related to Asian-American perpetrators. As far as victims, it is the same numbers that were relied upon in the Furman case. White lives are construed as being a greater loss than non-white lives, which is why the death penalty, while being statistically equally applied as to the race of the perpetrator, is not equally applied based on their race or nationality of the victim.

Your dealing in a statistical anonymity of unregistered or unknown victims. Hence your statistical registered count of a population is not reflective of the entire population and then where is that population concentrated.
I am sure if dealing a 90 percent agsian population area china town south boston as example and their encounters with the non Asians would be descriptive of the point of view the majority holds .
As for the discussion of when appropriate deadly force necessary must evolve within all levels of government.

I know this is what your sources are telling you. I know you believe that because they are saying it it must be true.
But what statistics are you using?
(you don’t know)

You’re using a 50 year old case.
How does that case give a more accurate representation than statistics from today?

The Furman case... Since this was 1972 ... it would be safe to assume that the white defendants had a much higher avg net worth than the black defendants. Correct? Id argue that information has much more to do with wealth than skin color ... also, the environment in 1982 is much different than 2021. The case youre hiding behind is irrelevant.
I'm certainly not hiding behind it. The death penalty data has not changed. A white victim is nearly 40x more likely to bring a death penalty for the convicted than a non-white. By the way, this statistic doesn't change based on the makeup of the jury. In other words, non-whites seem to have many of the same beliefs.
