Nearly six in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump
should be charged with a crime for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on
the U.S. Capitol, according to a new poll released Sunday.

Almost 21% of republican voters asked also agree!

The findings by the ABC News/Ipsos survey reveal a very slight
uptick in support for prosecution of Trump since the start of
televised hearings by the House select committee investigating
the insurrection that Trump incited.
An ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted in April found
that 52% of those surveyed thought the same.

The latest poll also found that 58% of Americans believe Trump
bears either a “great deal” or a “good amount” of responsibility
for the events of Jan. 6 last year.

this comes as a bit of a shock the percentage would be in the high 50s

apparently many who say they wont watch the hearings or read about it       r doing it anyway

          The Republican Party of Texas over the weekend adopted
a resolution at its state convention that rejects President Joe Biden
as the winner of the 2020 election, further aligning the state party
establishment with former President Donald Trump
in pushing false election claims.

"We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election,
and we hold that acting President Joseph Biden was not legitimately
elected by the people of the United States," reads the resolution,
passed by voice vote in Houston on Saturday.

They offered no PROOF to their allegations, of course...

       Before the final resolution was adopted, Brian Bodine,
a platform committee member who says he wrote the resolution,
proposed an amendment about the January 6, 2021,
attack on the US Capitol.     It asserted that the
"rights of those charged with crimes have been violated"
and it rejects the "narrative" that events at the US Capitol
represented an insurrection.  The crowd applauded.

The GOP platform also included a section calling
homosexuality "an abnormal lifestyle choice" and
opposing "all efforts to validate transgender identity."

Texas GOP platform is crazy, backwards and controversial.  It's one thing to question necessary changes to election procedures due to pandemic.  But it's outrageous to continue to endorse Trump's rhetoric about stolen election proven false countless times.

The 60% were nearly down party lines, so what are Democrats going to say? LoL Also the majority saying the committee was fair also said they weren't following it. So that tells me as usual, they hear other low information people say it, so they go along with it. What a shock Huffpost had their own version of the poll. You do understand that Republicans hate Trump just as much, if not more than Democrats. Washington was corrupt long before Trump got there and he upset both side apple carts.
