Nearly 30,000 borrowers awarded
Public Service Loan Forgiveness
so far under new Biden admin rules

Washington (CNN)
Katherine Rickfelder, a Florida public school teacher,
is one of nearly 30,000 people who have seen their student debt
balance reduced to zero since the federal government announced
significant changes to a popular loan forgiveness program last month.
[original program started under GW Bush in 2007]

After borrowers make 10 years of qualifying monthly payments,
their remaining federal student debt is wiped away.
More than 550,000 people are expected to see their debt
wiped away sooner than expected due to the changes.

 To qualify for the loan forgiveness, I think each should perform some kind of community service for at least 6 months.

I'm all for the forgiveness but I was also taught to pay my bills for services I've used. 

The interest on the loans is the problem. People pay tens of thousands of dollars and owe more now than they did to begin with.

I think that should be addressed somehow.

 A degree, even a Masters, isn't worth the cost in so many cases resulting in people being under-employed & unable to pay back their loans.

IMO instead of driving a Beamer, you drive a Camry until you pay off your student loan.

I see no problem here in keep Trump's choice at Fed.

Biden reappointment of Powell as chief of federal reserve is praised by top republican and top democrat of Senate banking committee.  Probably one of the best decisions of Biden presidency.  Powell has done good jobs for Obama and Trump.  Only congress rivals federal reserve's power to determine the direction of US economy, but the fed is able to move much quicker than congress ever could.
