Biden administration announces sale of one million barrels of gasoline to lower prices at pump before July 4.  Congress has mandated closure of Northeast gasoline reserve.  No nation has a emergency stockpile of gasoline except for the US.  If a emergency occurs in the future, US can just turn to its world's largest oil stockpile.

Yep.  Another idiotic move by the administration.

This is like taking a loan from your credit card at 29% interest. Sure you might get 0% interest for 30 days, but if you don't pay it back, you're in trouble in the long run. Anything to buy another week from the biden admin.

Question - "how many gallons of gas does the US average on a daily basis?"

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Americans use nearly 400 million gallons of gasoline a day. The huge consumption is an indication of the role of gas in the finances of many U.S. households. There are 126 million households in the United States. Obviously, not all have residents who drive cars.

So 1 million barrels, is what, maybe an hour? Biden thinks this is going to last until July 

Biden= "lookie here people, I'm releasing 1 MILLIOOOONNNN barrels of gas to help YOU (and not myself by lying to people). This is going to lower gas prices for 2 whole months so you can enjoy a cheap 4th of July!"

Gas is $3.18 in South Florida.

Economic policy institute reports average wage has surpassed inflation for 12 straight months.  Mortgage rates fell for third straight week.  Walmart, Target and other stores are reducing prices.

The number of job openings in the US shrank for the second month in a row, setting a new three-year low amid further signals of cooling in the labor market.

There were 8.06 million available jobs posted in April, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) report released Tuesday. That’s below the downwardly revised 8.36 million seen a month before.

Economists were expecting job openings to register 8.36 million, according to FactSet estimates.

As of April, there were an estimated 1.2 available jobs for every job seeker. That’s the lowest ratio since June 2021, BLS data shows.

The job market has been historically strong during the past couple of years, providing a firm foundation for hearty consumer spending that has propelled the economy forward despite dueling pressures of elevated inflation and high interest rates.

It's still early, just a week after a jury convicted Trump of falsifying business records to influence the 2016 election. But initial polls indicate the guilty verdict isn't changing many minds in Trump's conservative Republican base.

But we all know, in fact this is a classic "no-brainer," that if it were trump as president and one of his was caught commiting a crime, the criminal offspring wouldn't even see a courtroom - let alone a trial conviction. But if he/she was convicted, within ohh, maybe 5 minutes tops, trump would issue an immediate pardon for the criminal.

Donald Trump and Hunter Biden cases show no one is above the law.  No evidence that justice system is rigged.  But big differences between republicans and democrats.  GOP denies and attacks while democrats support law and order.  When a republican is convicted, GOP complains about weaponization.  Only when a democrat is convicted, GOP calls it justice.
