No rational person should vote for a criminal president with immunity.  Trump is also the worst president in US history.

    @thirdperson

With that rationale shouldn't we also rule that no person who isn't rational should also not vote?

I mean that is essentially what you are saying....let's narrow down the field, right?

I've stated the following before, in part, a couple of times on this forum:

Joe Biden is a decent man (not great, per se, but a decent human being, completely unlike trump and his accomplices and supporters)

an_lightAnd the admin/party Joe heads has IN FACT accomplished MORE in his first 3 years than any previous post WW2 president in their first term - and probably more than 80% of the modern era presidents over TWO TERMS!
NOBODY can factually demonstrate any post WW2 era president who has achieved *MORE* in his entire first term than Biden has done in only 3 years!

Undoubtedly, that fact-based purview led a very large group of expert presidential historians & scholars in the Presidential Greatness Survey (2024) to rank Biden as high as he is.....and trump on the bottom.

THREE such massive surveys in fact!

That said, despite his historic and accomplished term in office, I have stated before that Joe Biden is NOT our path forward this election.
    Nope.
A Democrat admin IS however! an_clap
    ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But not Joe as their leader.
    Not any more.
Although, even if Joe was leading the same SOLID democrat admin again, he is far and away better for the country than a FASCIST/CONVICTED FELON bent on tearing down most institutions, consolidating more WH power, establishing FULL CONTROL over DOJ and IRS, etc.etc! In short, trump-FASCISM!

But age has caught up with our good'ole starting QB and it only gets worse from here.
Joe, you did your job to bring us back from the brink - inheriting the WORST DISASTER in modern American history (from the worst rated president in US history) - but fighting through that and a stubborn EXTREMIST GOP led House, and still achieved more than any other.
    Remarkable!!!
You absolutely earned a high ranking in the upper half of all US presidents!

But you scored your last touchdown, Joe....time to hang up the cleats and accept retirement. If you don't, you will likely lose.

Please don't make the exact same mistake of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Unlike the radical-MAGA-partisans (several here on the forum, but not all), I vote for a candidate and his/her views and vision -- NOT a gawdam phucking party!!!
Political partisanship is nothing more than Political BIGOTRY. angry

I hold no affiliations to any.
The actual candidate is my main focus.

I've stated here before that BERNIE was my choice in 2020, not Joe, although in retrospect I am not surprised Joe has done so well. And I've also stated before that my choice for 2024 is Gov. Gavin Newsom - who would win a LANDSLIDE.
But Gavin will not enter the race out of respect for Joe, if Joe stubbornly persists in running.
Neither will Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, same reason, who would win but in a much closer contest.

And Kamala Harris would be a coin-flipper. Inherent prejudices against black, asian, and female could be trouble.

HUGE BREAK for those who hope to push FASCISM into the WH.

Unless something changes - soon - I will continue my preparations loading up my new offshores in anticipation of betting heavily against Biden winning (even though I hope to hell, for the country's sake, that I LOSE that bet)

Biden is by far the better man and better president...but I don't believe that will make a difference this time like it did last time.
Far too many ignorant dumphucks who choose to overlook trump's part in nixing a bipartisan border bill and insist the border issue is ALL JOE'S FAULT!....or on pinning worldwide inflation on Biden, while choosing to ignore OPEC....or even more stupid, insisting he caused the current war in Europe. HAHAHA!

But there are enough idiots in America among independents who are going to be swayed by the monumental BIG BUCKS negative ad campaigns by the fascist-sympathizers....that will turn a close election.

    PART 3  (see above 1 and 2)

    As usual though,

I make no bets until I see the pregame lineup (in this case known as the infamous "October Surprise") There always seems to be something in late September or through October...... like foreign intereference encouraged by a fat-ass candidate, or wiki-leaks, or a republican head of the FBI violating the FBI rules and announcing re opening of an investigation he closed months before.
Those type of things DO swing elections when it's close.
    The October Surprise.
And I will wait until then to be sure. I may change my plans!
an_light But assuming nothing changes, I expect I will profit "bigly" off an avoidable Biden loss. (assuming it is Biden v the fascist)

Congress is a different story. This is a tougher call for me.
Winning the WH is one thing.....but unless the president has the trifecta from Congress he/she is hamstrung to do much. Joe Biden was a notable exception.

Viewing the platforms of most of the down ballot candidates - as long as they are NOT embracing the CONVICTED FELON or his election lies - I am looking closely at all candidates.

That said, hypothetically, just for president ONLY - not congress!!

    - if Nikki Haley (R) was opposing Joe in November, I would cast my vote for Nikki.
    - if former Lt.Gov Geoff Duncan (R-GA.) was opposing Joe in November, I would cast my vote for Duncan
    - former rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) was opposing Joe in November, I would cast my vote for Kinzinger
    - if former presidentail candidate John Kasich (R-Oh) was opposing Joe in November, I would cast my vote for Kasich
    - if former Gov. Larry Hogan (R-Md) was opposing Joe in November, I would cast my vote for Hogan.
    - HELL, even if convicted Democrat FELON, Bob Menendez, was opposing the FASCIST, I would still cast my vote against the FASCIST!

And if Newsom or Whittmer were running - I would cast my vote for either over any of those republicans because I view them as even better candidates for the WH and our country.

Assuming we are not in a FASCIST state where elections are abolished by the trump party, Newsom will likely be our President-elect in 2028, but I wish Joe would step aside and get Newsom in there now.
    Trump-FASCISM is no joke!

    @scooby-doos

they are losing it.... think about it really.  Put yourself in their shoes....

Just a few short months ago there was no doubt in the minds of these people that Trump was going to be defeated by Jeo come November.  So much conviction, so much emotional investment these past 4 years.  Blindly ignoring in some cases and just blind in other cases, these people lived their lives for the hatred of another man they've never met all while morally and mentally following whatever the regime told them to believe.  I mean, these people literally lived and breathed for the obsessional fanaticism of a political figure that they opposed.  In conjunction with this, they carried this hate with them to those who supported their obsession.  To these people, anyone who did not "agree with their politics" was automatically lumped in with "MAGA" or the right.  It was either "all in" with me or "all out with you".  No democratic middle ground.

This was the environment just less than a short 8 weeks ago.  Think about all that has transpired since that May debate, with the culmination of this past week's events.

These people are BREAKING DOWN.  Mental and physical anguish of everything they believed (or chose to ignore) these past 4 years coming to a crashing halt.  The Orange Fuhrer is at their front door, something they thought they would never again see in their lifetime.  Minds are blown, reality is not real, up is down and down is up....put yourself in these shoes right now, we should have some level of sympathy no?  Entertaining in some cases yes, sad in others....Some are taking it better than others, as I have said these past 3-4 years.....it will get worse before it gets better.  I was talking about "all of us" and yes, it is going to get worse still for some before it gets better for all.

It does help to talk about your problems, that's what is great about this forum.  Anyone can come in to the cess pool sub and feel welcome, its a place to share our feelings and in return, get that support you need.  We are here for you....Covers.com, healing brought to you by a loving group of degenerate gamblers peace_5

You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now...

Assuming we are not in a FASCIST state where elections are abolished by the trump party, Newsom will likely be our President-elect in 2028, but I wish Joe would step aside and get Newsom in there now.

an_lightAnd the admin/party Joe heads has IN FACT accomplished MORE in his first 3 years than any previous post WW2 president in their first term - and probably more than 80% of the modern era presidents over TWO TERMS!

    Nope.
A Democrat admin IS however! an_clap ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

*Please don't make the exact same mistake of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Those type of things DO swing elections when it's close.
    The October Surprise.
And I will wait until then to be sure. I may change my plans!

    Trump-FASCISM is no joke!

So Joe steps aside as I hoped....but HARRIS is the presumed nominee now and she is not the path forward this election either.  Gov. Newsom is, and would win in a landslide....but very unlikely to be involved.

Prejudices against WOMEN as president - and doubly against BLACK - will cause a loss in a close election (barring a remarkable October Surprise)

And unless something drastic changes I am still preparing to unload HUGE $$$ against the Dems winning the WH now that Newsom is a likely non-factor and with the expectation that the CONVICTED FELON will only get what amounts to a slap on the wrist...
