So if we are supposed to be up in arms about letting these groups have a night, then shouldn’t we also be up in arms about churches that have decades of sexual assault of children (aka grooming) also? Diversity, equity and inclusion education is about teaching people to be nice and respect each other. UCLA reports that acceptance of LGBTQ people has increased in 56 out of 175 countries since 1980. 5 most accepting countries are Iceland, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden and Canada. 5 most intolerant countries are Azerbaijan, Takistan, Zimbabwe, Somaliland and Ethiopia.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you sure sounds like equity and inclusion to me. Diversity is always good as well, it’s part of the definition of inclusion and as all of us capitalists/evolutionists know, diversity breeds competition, and competition makes us stronger.

I dont see it as an LGBT issue, so the fact their group gets acceptance really is not the topic. My reply was that the topic does not belong in K-6 especially in a public format, topics of sexuality and gender transformation is not appropriate for kids and especially done through a taxpayer funded school system. My comment was that instead of teaching about differences in sexuality and choices it would be better to teach kindness, tolerance, getting along with others in general not at all specific to a certain sexual topic or group.

To counter homophobia and anti-trans hate, solution is more education to defend values of diversity, equity and inclusion. Especially against false accusations of pedophilia and grooming of children.

Being LGBTQ is not a mental illness according to American psychiatry association and Mental health America. But many LGBTQ people experience higher risks of anxiety and depression. Not because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. But due to societal stigma, discrimination and denial of human rights. Discrimination against LGBTQ people has been associated with higher rates of substance abuse and suicide. LGBTQ community is one of the most targeted in the US when it comes to hate crimes.

Funny how you so regularly throw out rude comments and act as if the same exact thing does not go on for your side every single day. Acceptance isnt a horrible thing, in fact it is part of a good aspect of human nature. What I call promotional is conservative judgement and abuse to those who are not like them..especially religious promotion that we see and have seen since the Bible was first written. Promotional is also watching a tv show from the 60s and 70s that blasted the abuses of women, of minorities, abuse of children and acting like it is normal and part of a good ole conservative upbringing. Promotional is people from God fearing South still hating minorities and thinking that a white guy is genetically superior when in fact it is the reverse.
Grandstanding and promotion is not unique to the LGBT group, if you label and judge a large group by its fringe extremes then you are no better than the fringe and extremes of your conservative disgusting fringes that exist.
Liberalism is no more of a disease than conservativism or religious dogma which has a multi generational stain on society and the public education system or segregation, lack of rights for women. Human nature is consistent through all demographics, this is no different at all IMO.

And I believe those (vast majority) who are gay were born gay. Can point out several neighbors and friends in my childhood who ended up gay. Some I thought may be gay ended up straight, some I thought were straight ended up gay. I don't see it as a choice, rather an internal conflict they have to deal with. So let them find themselves when they're old enough.
Even take it one step further I believe you are born leaning conservative or liberial. Everybody's different.
Deciding a child is gay or trans is so damn dangerous. Let them develop their own brain for crying out loud. And stop denying children are being hit with this shit. It's like all those child actors and performers who are f'ked as adults. Let them have their childhood!!
