@Rush51
So, here in CA, there are 3 bills currently being proposed by the state legislature: AB 665, 957 and 223... I'll talk about just AB665 to keep it brief, but the trajectory is to have the government intervene/replace parental authority over their child. I will put comments from the article in italic.
AB 665 would change an existing law that allows minors 12 and older to receive mental health counseling or therapy without parental consent. This bill would align the existing laws by removing the additional requirement that the minor must present a danger of serious physical or mental harm to themselves or to others, or be the alleged victim of incest or child abuse.
So, the child has easier avenues to seek "mental health counseling or therapy,"... and I think we know where this leads to.. gender transitioning, etc. I find it remarkable that "current" law allows a 12 y/o to make these choices to begin with.
A group of advocates gathered last Tuesday near the California state Capitol in downtown Sacramento to rally against three proposed state laws that they say push a “transgender ideology” and limit the rights of parents. These advocates claim Assembly bills 665, 957 and 223, if passed into law, would adversely affect the rights of parents and guardians who believe “children’s natural bodies are perfect.” They also argue that these proposed bills will make non-affirming your child’s gender identity “child abuse” in California.
Erin Friday is a lawyer and a member of a group called Our Duty. She said she is the mother of a child who used to think she was transgender. “You as a parent can be deemed abusive if you refuse to medicalize your child,” Friday said at a news conference. “If you refuse to poison your child with cross-sex hormones. If you refuse to stop the natural body growth called puberty. If you refuse to remove your child’s healthy breasts or genitals.”

Adam Vena said he lost all custody of his 5-year-old son, whom he has not seen in more than two years, because the child’s mother has been socially transitioning their child. He said he has paid for his son’s medical insurance and, until recently, paid for his tuition. But he refuses to affirm his child’s gender as a girl.
Vena said he did not support this and communicated his concerns to the mother — he said in light of his views, the court considered him “abusive” and issued a restraining order against him. “This is crazy. The parent who wants to change the child’s perfect body is abusive,” Vena said at the Capitol. “My personal beliefs and my First Amendment rights were squashed, because I didn’t want my 3-year-old son to wear a dress.”
Abigail Martinez said she lost custody of her teen daughter, who was placed in foster care. She said she wanted her daughter to get the mental health treatment she needed instead of “poisoning her body with testosterone.”
“I cry for the parents who will be like me, helpless to help their children,” Martinez said at the news conference. “I lost custody of my daughter when she was just 16, because I refused to call her a male name. That was my crime, a name and not pronouns.” Martinez said a school counselor convinced the court that her child would be harmed because she did not believe her daughter was a boy. She said her child’s transition made their mental state of health worse, and her child took her life at the age of 19 in Pomona.
All of these bills are put forth by DEMS in the state legislature. So, let's put to rest this notion that this "gender transitioning" is not political. It "absolutely is" political, and always pushed by Democrats, as in our state legislature and NY, and pushed back by Governors like in FL. RAIDERS already disputed this silly notion earlier that this topic is not political, and I think most sensible folks would agree that it most certainly is...
If you disagree, your homework is to find a Republican that supports this nonsense.

You need to read a book in the field of political science.
You continuously post this, which makes it clear you have no idea what liberalism means or what the liberal ideology stands for.

@DeezyAZ81
Let's stop side-stepping the topic and answer his broader point. These bills are always being pushed by politicians with a "D" next to their name.
So, do you agree with this nonsense being pushed on our children ?

Rush,
Which bills are you referring to specifically? I am definitely more center right on the transgender issue. However, I do not necessarily buy that schools are pushing on children. Children now have access to Internet and social media outlets, which I fear much more than formal schools.

You obviously didn't read my posts from today,,.. in this very thread. Jeezus.
The California state legislature has a clear agenda on this... and , no, this isn't worse than the internet IMHO when you have formal books and teachers that are supposed to have your kid's best intentions.

I sure did not read your posts from earlier today. I just skimmed one about mental health services in school, so not really on the LGBTQ+ topic. What others are you referring to in terms of transgender issues? What about the books in schools? Are certain bills forcing transgender books to be taught in every California school?

it's the local school boards that are pushing this nonsense on kids. They are shoving their ideology into the school curriculum. Parents here in the area are angry about the "sexual perversion." ( their words, not mine)
It's at the state level where they are passing bills giving the state more power & control over kids' decision to change their sex.
The books in school should be focusing on math, reading, science, history, English.. test scores are way down. Are we really trying to "dum" down the next generation or what? The school boards and state legislators making these decisions should be given a swift kick in the a$$ !!

It's called "Deny it's happening", "Deflect to something else", and then answer a question with a question.
That's when you know they have no valid response.

Headlines like this.............
The United Nations is working to mainstream sex with minors, stating in a report that relations with underage individuals can be considered consensual despite worldwide prohibitions on such acts.
The U.N. report echoes the thinking of groups like the North American Man-Boy Love Association, which condones pedophilia and works to abolish age-of-consent laws. While the report stops short of calling for the legalization of sex with minors, it maintains that those under 18 years of age have the mental capacity to willingly have sex with older individuals. The report is raising red flags with experts who say the United Nations is trying to mainstream underage sex as it pushes a woke ideology that has long existed at the fringes of society.
.........MAKE SANE PEOPLE BELIEVE "liberalism is a mental disorder."
Many times I have to wonder.

Claims that the United nations call for decriminalizing sex between adults and children have been debunked by fact checkers Associated press, USA today, Annenberg and Reuters. Actually, UN report has been misrepresented on social media. Since age of consent varies worldwide, UN recognizes that criminal sanction isn't appropriate against adolescents of similar ages for non-exploitative sexual activity. UN remains committed to fighting abuse of children.
