It was not a put down. So do not take it that way. It has to be completely understood by now where I stand. If I had the opportunity to choose any Republican over any Democrat in the last several elections — that is what I would do.
I assume the same for you. I assume you would take Biden or Clinton or Obama over any Republican in the last several years.
So, it does not follow that because one of the guys/gal you voted for did something you disagreed with or lost, that is a complete reflection on them — or you for voting for them. Because I am sure, according to your standards, their good outweighed the bad. Or their potential had they won. So, whether I liked Romney as my guy or not, I supported him at the end. Just as Trump was not my guy at the start — but in the end I supported him.
The questions come where there is disagreement on policies and the direction that you want the country to go in and how effective the guys were.
I get that Trump does not win a lot of folks over with his attitude and demeanor. Whereas, maybe Romney could have. BUT Romney was never generating the interest and support from folks that Trump did, just from a charismatic standpoint. I also, never saw the potential in Romney, nor McCain to bring in some fence-sitters or any on the Left. You kind of knew what sort of political leaders and what type of policies they would be and support. Now even some of those people have to look at some of Trump’s policies and contrast them with Obama and Biden and, maybe, decide they were better — and might be going forward. The issue is still the never-Trumpers on the Right and the fence-sitters.

Pence underscored the gravity of the events that transpired on Jan. 6, 2021, when Pence was among the primary targets of the angry mob that stormed the Capitol. Outside the Capitol building, a gallows was constructed by MAGA fascists, and the mob chanted, “Hang Mike Pence!”
“I was there on January 6. I have no doubt in my mind that some people were caught up in the moment and … entered the Capitol, and they’re certainly entitled to due process of law for any nonviolent activities that day,” Pence told CBS moderator Margaret Brennan.
“BUT the assaults on police officers ultimately in an environment that claimed lives is something that I think was tragic that day, and I’ll NEVER diminish it.”

Kari Lake, a prominent dumbass election denier running for a Senate seat in Arizona, after the voters chose a Democrat over her for Governor, has decided not to contest her liability in a defamation suit brought by a Republican election official in Maricopa County.
Stephen Richer, who presided over the county’s 2022 election, filed a defamation claim against Lake in June alleging that she “repeatedly and falsely accused" him of causing her electoral defeat in the race for governor won by Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Lake’s legal team on Tuesday filed a default judgment motion that indicated she was not challenging her culpability.
