Zeus, Explain why you think women have the right to kill a baby in the 40th week of a pregnancy.
Polls show majority of Americans support abortion rights. Medical issues are best decided between doctors and patients. For 50 years, law protects women right to abortion for first 3 months of pregnancy. Problem is that new abortion laws by mostly republican states are too restrictive such as limiting abortion to first 6 weeks of pregnancy. A joke for GOP to call itself the party of freedom because restricting abortions would be the biggest loss of civil rights in decades.
Many women don't realize they are pregnant until after 3 months due to irregular menstrual periods. Women who are denied abortions are more likely to be unemployed, below poverty line and victims of domestic violence. Abortion reduces crimes and welfare costs to taxpayers. Access to legal abortion reduces risks of injury or death from illegal abortion. Besides, a baby shouldn't come into the world unwanted.

You don't want to anger tens of million of woman voters, 6-3 skewed Right Wing high court's decision appears to have done just like that.

Gonna be a Pyrrhic victory. GOP fulfilled something they've been wanting for decades, but the problem is that it's not as popular as it was 30 years ago and it's gonna cost them going forward.

Exactly correct! It is truly amazing. It's clear that democracy and freedom means little to the neo-fascist trump-toilet-worshippers all across America and in almost every state, despite their whining to the contrary when they feel aggrieved
I wish that was not true, but sadly, it is.

I know you are not very bright, but you may want to check your math?
40 weeks? Long a$$ super pregnancy?

Governors Wolf (PA), Whitmer (MI) & Newsome (CA) have all come out stating abortions will remain legal in their states.
As a father, I would hope my daughter or granddaughter would never want an abortion but I support their right to make that personal decision.
If you thought being told to wear a mask during a global pandemic was a violation of your rights, but forcing a woman to carry a baby to term is not a violation of hers, guess what… you’re an asshole.

This is from another page I'm connected to and it explains where our individual right on the use of our bodies is protected by law. I've never seen this explanation before and I find it profound.......
"Reasonable people can disagree about when a zygote becomes a "human life" - that's a philosophical question. However, regardless of whether or not one believes a fetus is ethically equivalent to an adult, it doesn't obligate a mother to sacrifice her body autonomy for another, innocent or not.
"'Body autonomy is a critical component of the right to privacy protected by the Constitution, as decided in Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), McFall v. Shimp (1978), and of course Roe v. Wade (1973). Consider a scenario where you are a perfect bone marrow match for a child with severe aplastic anemia; no other person on earth is a close enough match to save the child's life, and the child will certainly die without a bone marrow transplant from you. If you decided that you did not want to donate your marrow to save the child, for whatever reason, the state cannot demand the use of any part of your body for something to which you do not consent. It doesn't matter if the procedure required to complete the donation is trivial, or if the rationale for refusing is flimsy and arbitrary, or if the procedure is the only hope the child has to survive, or if the child is a genius or a saint or anything else - the decision to donate must be voluntary to be constitutional. This right is even extended to a person's body after they die. If they did not voluntarily commit to donate their organs while alive, their organs cannot be harvested after death, regardless of how useless those organs are to the deceased or many lives they would save. That's the law.
"'Use of a woman's uterus to save a life is no different from use of her bone marrow to save a life - it must be offered voluntarily. By all means, profess your belief that providing one's uterus to save the child is morally just, and refusing is morally wrong. That is a defensible philosophical position, regardless of who agrees and who disagrees. But legally, it must be the woman's choice to carry out the pregnancy. She may choose to carry the baby to term. She may choose not to. Either decision could be made for all the right reasons, all the wrong reasons, or anything in between. But it must be her choice, and protecting the right of body autonomy means the law is on her side. Supporting that precedent is what being pro-choice means.’”

Your ignorance shines once again. Virtually no woman has an abortion in the third trimester. Under 1% of all abortions come at this stage and they are due to medical emergencies (mother's life in danger, etc.). Once again so you are so uninformed and ignorant it's actually embarrassing.
A woman having an abortion at "40 weeks" just does not happen, basically never.

Bunch of ideological hypocrisy from the Republican party, it manifests nothing more than that. It just arouses the wrath of millions and millions of women across this country.

1 reason evil Lefties enjoy abortion is because they can sell the organs of the baby as they eat cheese and crackers and drink very cheap wine! You can not make this up on your best day! Another quote from the hero of the Left, Margaret Sanger.
"The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
