I guess that "herd mentality" doesn't work for Sweden, now that country needs to implement "drastically draconian" measures in copping with the Covid pandemic. U.S. AG Barr was applying the "draconian" as the word to describe lockdown few months ago.

    “Drastically draconian measures”

List the measures that Sweden is taking that you’re calling “drastically draconian”.

Is it the best shot you got? Your boy's "herd mentality" strategy to fight Covid-19 does NOT work in Sweden, plain and simple.

Sweden has banned gatherings of more than 8 people as a second wave of coronavirus continues to grow. "Don't go to gyms, don't go to libraries, don't host dinners. Cancel," Swedish Prime Minister Lofven said.--Scott Gottlieb, MD, Former FDA Commissioner , Twitter.

Pretty weak GOP hocus pocus trying to paint Sweden as a confirmation for the fake virus mantra. It reminds me of people living in states/cities which had not been hit thinking they are above such things due to demographics or health stats or that herd immunity nonsense. A virus does not stop because of blanket generalities or fabricated notions. Sweden had issues, it subsided and then it returns from laziness and a sense of false security.

People do not want to sacrifice or be put out of their comfort zones so instead they make up idiotic ideas like herd immunity. This concept is an insult to science and the complete lack of understanding we have of the mid to long term implications of this (or any) virus. What a massive mistake it was to herd immunity Chicken Pox..now we have multiple generations of shingles, brilliant idea. This virus does not have a history to study so suggesting that allowing people to get it is a smart idea is lunacy period. A virus can hibernate in your body for decades only to return and change the impact over and over. I have a family experience of this, a virus destroys DNA and we have no clue about this specific new virus...so yeah lets say screw it and let everyone get it.

Brilliant...no wonder Trump got the nomination, people want to be told not to think and that the institution is out to get them..is calming and soothing and the path of least resistance.

Oh that’s why it returned to Sweden.

Why did it return to France, Spain, Italy and the UK?

People do not want to sacrifice?

Name one thing government workers have sacrificed.

Meanwhile small business owners are being told that they can’t open their business.

When government workers (the decision makers) are going to make the decision to close businesses — they should be forced to give up 50% of their pay for the time their decision goes into effect.

Then their decision would be made with the correct weight applied to the decision.

Yes most swedes working in Sweden have great pride in paying 55% tax to the government to help those more unfortunate.

Taxes and the ability to pay them is a civic national pride symbol.

But for most Swedes paying high taxes is a benefit, not a problem. 'I am very happy to pay high taxes because I know I am getting value for the money later on,' says Valentina Valestany, a 39-year-old legal adviser. She is especially pleased with the school her daughters Westa, 15, and Anastasia, 13, attend. 'Lunches are free, it was no problem getting in. My daughters receive a very good education and they have great teachers.'

Yes most swedes working in Sweden have great pride in paying 55% tax to the government to help those more unfortunate.

I guess they are more at ease with the tax issue for they feel it is a worth while investment.

Show a Swedish person what we pay per student and then give them a tour of the public schools

I guarantee you that teachers in the US make more money. Our teachers and especially the administrators are extremely overpaid. No Democrat would ever take on that fight because it would be political suicide.

See your lost in a concept money.

Money is the cogureing of a central bank. Ruth Bader  Ginsburg. Don't throw the baby with the bath water ruling of the affordable care act.

Hence my analyst of said statement.

Where they get converts to agree in the principal of paper money us a more affluent easier state of transfer for hard material asset.

Hence with world reserve currency as value. We gave a tangible  ways and means to actual trade apples for oranges....

    Math it's a reality....

I agree with this. And for the record, I do not agree with the forced closures of small businesses.

Teachers are not overpaid but ut is the entire bureaucracy that is flawed and financially inefficient. This is the case with most things in our great country.

This is kind of silly really, the issue isnt the government vs the little guy, yet your political position feeds on such nonsense. You want to think that the government is mean, they will take your guns, THEY over tax you and they are the cause of all the problems in the world. What a farce really.

The reason small business or ANY business is being closed is about interaction with others period. Sorry to burt the GOP hurt butt bubble, there are government positions which are public facing that are impacted, there are LARGE corps impacted, mid size corps impacted. It has ZERO to do with the government vs Detox, and maybe if you were to figure out the real issue and get some context then you would stop feeling picked on from the nasty government. The only issue is businesses that are considered vital, government and not are exempt...but really does being exempt mean something good?

I take this virus seriously and have known several people who died directly from this and every single person matters, it isnt about this vs the common cold or the cost of this impact, its about the loss of human life and how flippant we are about sacrificing. I dont like wearing a mask and being limited but I do this and think nothing about it because in the scheme of things every life is important and any of us can be dead from any number of things so how about we value life and try to do all we can to preserve it.

I understand you’re a self-righteous liberal that thinks anyone on the other side is the devil but I don’t think it’s “the government vs Detox”. I haven’t been impacted at all.

    “Every single person matters”

    Do you support legalizing drugs?

Do you think alcohol should be banned?

What do you think should be done about obesity in America?

This conversation could go a million ways.

The bottom line is that there should be fierce debate in America about how much power the government has and in my opinion the government (mostly democrats) has overstepped during this fiasco.
