Yeah, he did......& a lot of other stupid things. But no one had a monopoly on faux pas.
The school issues here are a mess as well......open & close, open & close. But it isn't really a partisan issue. Every area has struggled with it. Seattle & the surrounding three counties dominate the voting in this state, thus we've been democrat-run for close to five decades. Eastern WA takes it in the shorts for the decisions of the majority in the west. It hasn't ALL been bad. They don't run a deficit while addressing most major issues in a timely matter, but man, they do love taxes. It's all relative. Every state will get you in one way or another.
This pandemic & the riots have tested the character of the leaders & it hasn't been pretty........Mayor Durkin with her "summer of love" proclamation during the riots & CHOP occupation, Gov. Inslee, who claimed he knew nothing about CHOP when it was all over the news & blames everything on global warming, the Seattle CC, who wants to defund the police (& has) amidst the destruction of downtown EVEN THOUGH they only have the same size force as they did 30 years ago despite the population doubling. To Durkins' credit she has back-peddled a bit from her original stance. But over the last 10-15 years Seattle has turned into sewage, even though most of the surrounding areas are OK. It's easier to point a finger up here.
