Biden on X; Hamas unleashed a terrorist attack because they fear nothing more than Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace. To continue down the path of terror, violence, killing, and war is to give Hamas what they seek. We can’t do that.

Nothing more than appeasement to gain more voters. The democrat voting base is obviously divided on support of Israel. Here is Joe again trying to play both sides. Going rubbery legged on support of Israel's attempt to defeat terrorist Hamas once and for all. And for what? Himself!

The result will be the same, an embolded enemy/terrorists who see Joe backing down. Worse than any "mean tweet" by far!

Funny how the general public are unaware that Israel pulled people out of Gaza months back and blocked access for goods and services to come in and out of the area. Gaza is similar to a gated community with one entry/exit but in this case Israel is the one controlling the access.

You wonder why extremists do absurd things? Try living in an area where your life and standard of living is lesser than your neighbors and they control what comes in and out, that area has no shot at ever being at peace because all the parties there are seeking ways of killing each other and removing the other completely.

I saw a ZH article that showed in one month the total civilian casualties from Israel are more than what Russia has been responsible for in 18 months with Ukraine.

The public has no idea why the extremists act as they do but I can tell you this, the longer that Israel cages and controls that zone the worse this will get for locals and for Israelis in the general area.

I think those extremists believe that their ideas on this life and this existence are the correct ones , and that anything else is blasphemy , and they are taught that murder and the eradication of people that go against the teachings that they have been educated on , and what they have dedicated their lives to , are evil , and that those people deserve to die in order to protect what is written and “ holy “ …

We must all do are part collectively to let it be known that this type of treatment will not be tolerated . We do not need to pass referendums and go through bureaucratic measures either . If you cock your head to the side and squint with one eye and use a little bit of whatever imagination that you might have you can see glimpses of those extremists’ behavior right here in the cozy confines of the covers.com political forum , albeit to a much lesser degree ….

 Extremists are in any social group but in certain areas the extremists rationalize horrible things because of the culture and what religion validates. I was having a discussion about this topic and it isnt just the middle east in generalizing the male dominated religious extreme norms, extremists exist in any social group and so the point isnt that we can generalize and portray one group due to their social customs. 

Ive got many friends from several areas in India and before being friends with them I knew like zero about India and their class system and culture, their history and the caste system. Even in a seemingly democratic India there are some awful extremist behaviors that anger me and the division inside that country based on the state you live in, the religious beliefs, the ancestral anchor that enables groups to treat other groups as lesser and zero, the division of upper class and below third world living, it is horrible and that is just good ole India.

My point about Gaza is we are viewing the fringes and siding with Israel because of one group, yet we do not really understand and investigate the history of that group. I was watching a multiple hour show about that area and how Hamas came into power and really they have morphed into what is current when initially it was the exact opposite they campaigned on to get the popular vote and since the region is a massive mess they have stayed in power but really it is still based on a common vote. Hamas we see now is not the Hamas which started out, part of the reason why extremists thrive is because of oppression of the general population. You wonder how a horrible person like Hitler rose to power, it was due to the oppression after WWI to the German population with war reparations and the destruction of their country, they were stomped on and were seeking a political voice to take them out of their social and economic depression. Then Hitler who was not the way he ended got in with promises and extreme views and morphed into what he was in the end. Hamas has done the same, the people would never have voted in that group if they  had known what Hamas would evolve into and yet like other areas in the world there is political turnover so often, people who are living in destitute conditions are desperate to escape their lot in life and that gives opportunity for groups to take advantage. The reason for the economic conditions and the hate which exists has plenty to do with Israel and yet most of what we see in Western media is about the plight of Israel and how all of Gaza are terrorists seeking to destroy Israel and that is far far far from the truth. 

So is it being reported or discussed in the general media, does even 5% of the population know that Israel has killed more innocent Gaza civilians using US weapons and aid than what has gone on in Ukraine and in less than a month?

How would any of us like to be living in economic conditions that are third world while just across the military walls live people who have a dramatically different standard of living and that the military of said country seek to remove you from your home and take that area for their own?

I think the US needs to stop blindly supporting Israel and demand that they seek a path of peace, but that will never happen.

The Palestinians and Hamas (is there really a difference) want all Jewwws dead.  Plan and simple.  It's not about territory; that is a farce.  

The old adage is true....  If Israel laid down their arms tomorrow, they would be massacred.  If Palestinians laid down their arms tomorrow, there would be peace.

 I think it depends on what you call extremists. I dont consider chatty groups who back slap and copy/paste DNC talking points as extremists, I consider it short sided, annoying, partisan and a lack of depth but not extremist. 

I consider extremists who take their partisan views and hate others who are not like them, who make the issues a direct, personal attack and who have a lack of boundaries for the hate and partisan lens they see society in. When people attack others directly for their differences then that is much more extreme than narrow minded yappy dogs who like to bump threads and seek attention of like minded partisan members.

Annoying does not mean extreme to me, it can be combined but it is not exclusive of the term.

 I do not see that conclusion at all, and history does not support your assertion. What you are missing is a third party took your land and gave it to others who do not like you and seek for your removal, the UN gave Israel land that was never theirs, even in the Bible it states that the promised land was not theirs, it was given from their prophets and their deity, that same deity is not followed or accepted from ANY other cultures and religions in the area..that is the truth.

So step back to the origin of the issue not just the current messed up scenario. Of course if all non-Israeli groups laid down their weapons then there would be peace, that equates to giving up your land and your belongings to the other group and then wondering if the group who got all they wanted would be happy. Of course if Israel got what they wanted how they wanted they would be less aggressive. 

I also say this, if Israel were not caged by the UN terms they would not stop until the entire area was under their control and I take that from verbage of the OT, the Bible is a great story about wars and bondage and regional conflict over and over and over. Israel thinks they are entitled to much more from their deity but they know the rest of the world will not allow them to expand past what was taken from others and given to them.

I do not agree . It all starts somewhere wall . It all starts somewhere . When people hold onto the argument that their beliefs are the “ correct ones “ and close off discussion with anything that might invite conversation or suggest a differing or opposing viewpoint or idea then the seed has already been planted .

Whether it blooms into something that can be considered dangerous I’m sure depends on a multitude of factors , but the basis for things to get out of hand is there .

A baby tiger to some is considered harmless or even cute but let that thing grow up and it will maul your eyes out and drink your cold blood like gazpacho soup ya heard ? Nothing is a threat till it gains enough stature and confidence in it’s nature to finally do something that will reward it’s desires .

That’s why I don’t teach the road blocking of conversations , and that’s why I keep communication open and free , because if you let someone sit there and be stagnant on their toxic views the chances of something catastrophic happening greatly increases .

I do my part to help situations because sometimes just saying something and getting it off your chest will stop it from mushrooming into something less debatable , and more severe .

There should be a level of expectation that the family that is being voted into office should be free from criminal actions...so much is said about Trump and his misfortunes and it is posted all over this forum...and when there has been questions of Biden Sr's knowledge of financial handlings for his son then everyone's ears should prick up with this action...I think the truth is that Biden Sr knows more than has been led on...what's good for the goose is good for the gander so if you are anti-trump and his dealings then you should be anti-biden and his deliberate miscues....
