You are not understanding who fronts the cost for these corporate freebies. It is known and widely stated that these tax cuts are going to be debt funded and borne off the back of program cuts...that is a fact. These cuts were not budget positive at all, SO what programs will get cut? The corporate freebies in the face of millions of dollars of political contributions and insider intervention or the programs that the common guy who has no representation or campaign contributions IOU's to call on?
So hurrah that Apple was able to tax dodge and bring money back, that is a corporate freebie, those tax dollars were DUE...back owed. So do you think the IRS would allow you to not pay your taxes for a decade and then skip out of the obligation?
Trump serves the wealthy and then tries to say some pittance 2.2% blah blah Apple 1k bonus is the same payback ratio as what corps received?
So where will the gap money come from when receipts do not match government expenses and it will happen? Debt and cutting the faceless programs...for sure not the corporate handouts.
Its a joke...
Why do you think this is fact? If it is fact, why do you think it is a bad thing? It is the same as any budget. Get rid of waste and spend less on non-essentials. Why is this bad?

Weve discussed this before many times. To me taxation should be borne more by those who receive the most benefit relative to total outlays...notice the wording please.
We had a long discussion in the past of who benefits the greatest from government spending...and for sure it is the corporation and the elite. The little guy uses infrastructure of course but nothing to the degree that corporations do, the little guy does not really benefit from foreign spending, but corporations do. In fact even social spending is heavily tilted to corporations...so say food stamps and welfare, sure the little guy gets the stipend but where is it spent? It is spent to subsidize cheap corporate crap. If the government were serious about protecting the little guy with regards to food stuff there would be restrictions on what can be purchased. Like WIC has some strong restrictions on what can be bought, the same should go for food stamps but it does not...and why is that? Corps make better margins on garbage crap food and they advertise that heavily and they make a nice return on the junk garbage food. If the government were concerned about obesity and the health of the little guy then we would restrict what government freebies can be spent on.
Thats an example of the past discussion, but to me taxation should be borne by those who partake. If you are going to say that corps provide jobs and all that crap, well then lets put profit restrictions on corps and then see what happens. So a co-op food store gets pref treatment vs a Kroger or Walmart because of how profits are distributed and accumulated.

I still contend that is wrong. If it were up to me --- no taxes on corporations at all. What is the point? It is shifted to consumer absolutely.
Not sure how you mean who benefits the most from government spending? How are you meaning that exactly? So, you would cut spending based on this thinking?

It isnt that difficult, the government spends money on certain things...on foreign interests, on the military, on infrastructure, on social programs...you should know the list. Who gets the most and benefits the most from how the government spends money? So in the past we built all those freeways for inter-intra state travel...who benefits from that more? We spent money on an electrical grid, on power generation, on telecommunications on satellites etc etc...so many more things. Who gains the most financially from what the money is spent on? Who gains from food stamps, who gains from Medicare and Social Security? It isnt difficult...the little guy the average Joe does not gain remotely the same that Walmart or Exxon or Haliburton does, the most net gain relative to outlay. You should tax based on who uses the resources and gains the most from it.
If you fall back on the jobs schtick then I suggest you put a cap on the profits and how those profits are used, are profits used to help the average society and government or to enrich the elite? If the profits are used to benefit the majority then they should be taxed differently than what we have now.
Pretty simple stuff here..

The most? Ho is that determined? Based on what criteria? You don't think the folks benefit the most from the grid or infrastructure? Of course they do Even if it benefits corporations -- it still helps us out as well. It for sure doesn't benefit the folks that want to live in the wilderness of Wyoming the most; it benefits the folks that live in cities the most. So?
Why are you comparing Exxon to the average Joe and food stamps? I am not sure how apt a comparison that is? Can you think of a better one? Are you saying you would give out more food stamps than you would spend on highways? If so, exactly -- in detail -- why do you think this would be better?
It is not pretty simple at all. A lot of folks try to break it down to corporations versus/or average folk. It is nothing like that to me at all. Two completely separate issues.
Too many people just hate/jealous of big companies. Never understand this at all. Unless they own a small business and feel like they can't compete. But it is hardly ever this that complain. It is the folks that benefit the most from them that complain.
And the question is the same --- would you cut government spending based on this logic or no?

Trump is worthless in spiritual terms. As a materialistic narrascasist he’s a temporally champ. Hard to fix stupid when it thinks in such short terms as a reality. Span of a human life trapped in a frailty of the human condition is nothing more than a blink in reality of eternity ( where we are where will be and where we come from... old Donna is a maggot....

Sad that not one democrat voted in favor of the tax cuts that have obviously benefited the average American. They are out of touch. There is a reason Democrats don’t have any power in American politics.

This is just lunacy...no truth at all to what you guys are suggesting.
Here is how it works...corps earned revenues overseas or even domestically and parked the money offshore avoiding taxation on PROFITS earned...do you think the IRS would be super cool with you or I earning our salary here and then opening up a Swiss bank acct and holding the money there with no recourse? Then Trump with his grand logic lets companies bring it back at a severe reduction in taxes...so who wouldnt like that? It teaches these corps that avoiding taxation and holding out PAYS OFF..
This loss in tax revenue accompanied with the tax reductions to the elite and biz class are not budget positive, so that means someone will pay for this in the near and far future, until it is removed (as it will be).
So here is how this raises and bonuses due to the grand scheme works, in all seriousness.
Company holds out the piggy bank and gives employee a few bucks, I say a few bucks relative to the big picture so 1k 5k 10k whatever...the K is small relative to the cost of the decision. So employee gladly takes the cash and the impression is something great and hurrahhh for Trump....well at the same time these bucks are being given to the employee the government is adding 20k to the employees home mortgage, the government is deducting 200 bucks a month in future SS benefits, the government is upping the contribution required for Medicare insurance and also bumping the age requirements, the government is adding TRILLIONS in debt which means at higher interest rates (which we are seeing due in part to these decisions and the morons debt plan destroying the dollar) and less money to go around to programs that people require or for the infrastructure of the country.
This scheme is short term glory, medium and long term pain, there is nothing good from these decisions. So yippee that I get 5 bucks from my company, when the same company rakes in millions of tax savings and the government adds trillions in debt and will be cutting social programs to cope with the shortfall.
Did any of you cheerleaders take a finance or econ class or actually try to understand what budget negative means and how corps cheating on taxes is a TAX on YOU?

Under Obama... the 1% saw MASSIVE gains... the middle class was stagnant... tens of millions fell into poverty and started receiving government assistance.
Brilliant!

The funny thing is almost all of these corps donated far more money to Hillary than they did Trump. You must be much smarter than the top executives from the big corps. They’re so dumb their donating to the wrong person. Hillary and the Dems love the common man.
It would be nice if you were on the same planet I am...I have no idea what you are rambling about. This topic is about the bonuses and the implications of this tax policy now...not what corps donated to Clinton or how much the debt was under Obama...please are you just unable to stay on topic?
