you may be too far gone on the big government/safe space liberal spectrum, but in case you ever want to try and become a real conservative one day, here's a handy three step process to go through to determine whether more laws and bigger government is the answer to your fears and concerns:
1. is there a verified, proven problem that needs to be addressed by more laws and bigger government? in this scenario we'd be looking for some kind of consistent, significant pattern of transgender people committing crimes inside bathrooms.
2. if so, is the new law and bigger government likely to solve or improve the problem? here, we'd need proof that creating a safe space in bathrooms is likely to deter criminals from committing the crimes that were proven to often occur in part one. not just laws to try to appease rightwing bed wetting over the issue.
3. if the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, are there already laws in place to deal with the problem so that we don't need any more? for instance, if we are trying deter rape or child molestation, don't we already have such laws in place to do that? if so, we don't need even more laws, and bigger government as it becomes redundant.
so, i implore you to stop looking to big government to create a safe space for you. stop being such a liberal who wants big brother to solve your issues, whether real or perceived.
follow these steps to become a limited government conservative.
1.Yes
2.Yes
3.No, it’s not a federal crime for men to use the women’s restroom. A pattern of women being victims of men who claim to women has emerged. There needs to be a stiff penalty in order to try to deter men from pretending to be women in order to gain access to women’s facilities.
Republicanism is the belief in limited government, unless to do this threatens the republic as a whole, and prevents the government from becoming a guardian to its individuals. The role of government in a republic is to safeguard the collective republic.
Those steps don’t lead to limited government conservatism. The steps you espoused lead to a complete disregard for public safety and law and order. That’s not conservatism. That’s libertarian anarchy.
