Anything other than the actual topic.

It's funny how multiple posters have pointed out when the usual suspects are getting owned they revert to this sad schtick of  calling everyone liberals

This is another topic that I have been meaning to post about. Why has this become such a hot button issue? Are we really worried about transgenders? Aren't there bigger issues to worry about. Stats show, and it should come as no surprise to any of us, that transgender people are not the threats to children etc. 

For the most part it is older white males. I saw a stat the other day (I do not remember the numbers) about how much more common and how many acts of sexual nature on children there have been from white males affiliated with any church compared to transgender people.

This seems like a non-issue that has become one just to rile up some people

honestly, i've heard rightwingers talk about the pussification of america and i just thought that was another stupid generalization they like throw out there rather than discuss real issues.  but after seeing this transgender issue come up, i think it's a real thing.  which is to say, nothing illustrates the pussification of america more than rightwingers who are scared of transgender people.  even worse, "smal government conservatives" are supporting states that area actually making laws dealing with bathroom etiquette and creating a safe space for them from the scary transgender people.

but to answer your question, i imagine not one of these rightwingers can show us a post or a tweet or any communication indicating transgender people were a problem a couple of weeks ago.  but, after NC made that "i'm such a f*cking box" law and foxnews told these people to be scared of them, now they are.

ugh. That was immensely painful. I did not click on the other clips in the right side of the screen but one can only imagine.

You make a fantastic point. Here we are in 2016 and all the sudden we have a Transgender bathroom problem? Where have they been going for the last 75 years? 

Why do we need new laws regarding the issue? 

Pretty soon the homoseksulls and Transgenders will rule the world. Plastic surgeons that perform sex changes will outnumber heart surgeons.

Its gonna get worse because we have no shortage of overprotective single mothers.

Then if you look outside of the GOP you have the racists and sexists and bigots that have been waiting for a candidate that doesn't believe in PC and regardless of his ideas of lack there of, trump embodies their way of thinking and being as hateful angry racist bigots. 

So as you can see trump supporters are very diverse and to lump them all together and make an overgeneralization about them doesn't seem fair to me.

I think a more realistic view of trump supporters needs to be employed in an analysis like I had outlined. 

Matt, as a non-partisan independent that is critical of all sides including other non-partisan independents, I am wondering if you have a response to my wanting to be fair to trump supporters by saying that your initial statement is painting with too broad strokes

I never knew that Republicans were bothered that much by transgender people.  Honestly, there is something a little weird about it to me.  It's a full rejection of the gender you were born as because you firmly believe you're meant to be the other sex.  It has everything to do with a mindset and I'll probably never be convinced that it's a logical decision.  However, if that's how people want to live their lives, I suppose they should be able to do it. 

When a state government interferes and tells schools how individuals are to be defined, it gets in the way of personal choice.  For these kids the only thing many of them have known for their short lives is being a transgender and identifying with that choice.  Telling them to do something otherwise, such as using a bathroom that's labeled for a gender they believe is incongruous with the gender they see themselves as, goes against their principles.

Constructing bathrooms strictly for transgenders is expensive and it singles them out when in public.  I thought everything was working despite everyone having mixed feelings about the subject.

Exactly.  The left wants unisex bathrooms and that is where this is going.   Unfortunately, the fear mongers on both sides scream the loudest and dominate the conversation.   This is a privacy and govt overreach issue.  It  would seem that that there is a reasonable sensible approach that most could agree w but I have my doubts

I would say that is about 20% of his supporters....   the rest are made up of the 'anyone but Hilary' brigade, the He-Man Woman Haters Club, people who are caught up in the circus atmosphere and just want to be there to say they were there, republican lost souls who have no other choice, and SportsFan.  Not exactly society's finest.....

Relax_Dude -- a few things

1) I did not lie. I stated my opinion and was wrong. That is not a lie. No different than if I said team X was gonna win and they end up losing.

2) A lie would be making a statement along the lines of -- If I am wring then I will never post here again. i.e. Sports_Fan

3) I admit that this is minor but -- if you are going to use " " than it should be statements that I actually made.

4) I stand by my original comments in this thread. See the youtube clips that someone posted previously in this thread.
