This is a country of 10 mil people, that equates to 1.8 million US cases per day. Due to illegal and non-peaceful protests, Ottawa and Ontario have declared states of emergency.  Now federal government must declare a temporary emergency to help communities endangered by blockades.  Recently, police has cleared Ambassador bridge.  Peaceful protests remain protected by Charter of rights and freedoms.  

For weeks, Fox news has been promoting the unlawful and unpopular protests in Canada.  Fox has lied about the level of Canadian support.  Angus poll reveals 72% of Canadians are fed up and want protesters to go home.  Ottawa citizens are counter protesting against unlawful occupation of their city.  Canadian labor alliance denounces freedom convoy.  Most protesters have no connection to trucking industry.  Most funding comes from far right Americans.  According to University of Ottawa, protests are a cover for an authoritarian movement aimed at upending the rule of law and weakening government as in the US.  For months, Fox news have been championing anti-vaxers as freedom heroes rather than encouraging people to get vaccinated.

Ontario Premeir Doug Ford appeared to echo arguments from the Freedom Convoy protesters demanding coronavirus restrictions be lifted, saying Canadians need to respect "democracy and freedoms and liberties."
