According to Bolton, Trump was right and Biden wrong. A quote from that article;
The possibility of a Bout-for-Whelan trade existed back then,” said Bolton, 74, “and it wasn’t made, for very good reasons having to deal with Viktor Bout.”

"There are occasions when you swap spies. Obviously, there are legitimate exchanges of prisoners of war,” he continued. “But this doesn’t even approximate that.

Help is on the way to Ukraine and Russian forces won't like it. U.S. close to providing Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine -officials https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/us-finalizing-plans-send-patriot-missile-defense-system-ukraine-officials-2022-12-13/
It's about time to assist Ukraine with sophisticate air defense from Russian missile attacks.
Should we be thanking Ron DeSantis or President Biden for this?

If Trump were still the president, Russia would be in Kyiv already, there is no doubt about that in my mind.*--John Bolton, former NSA of Trump administration.
I agree with Bolton's view on Iran's serious threat to the West and to defend Taiwan from China's invasion is a vital American interest.

I believe if Trump was still president he would have sat down with Zelensky and Putin and in the best interests of the entire world ironed out a solution. Zelensky never would have shutdown Russian speaking TV like the dictator he is. Europe would not be facing an energy crisis, thousands of lives saved. Millions of Ukrainians would not be displaced with the United States barely helping any of them. Weapons of war from the United States would not be reaching Africa and underground Finnish criminals (look it up) to name a few. Terrorists acts like blowing up Russian cars with young women in them, truck bombs on bridges, gas pipelines with tons of methane released, never would have happened. Spending in the United States wouldn't have included billions to a preventable war, inflation would have been less with less spending and energy availability.
All the while the media would paint Trump as in bed with Russia. Too bad it has to be this way, humans are for the most part, stupid.
As a leader you may believe Putin is a soulless murderer but you don't publically say it. When you do there is no chance of compromise.

MIDNIGHT... let's revisit the question you posed in your original thread..... what " is " the next step ?
Does the U.S. continue to spend billions of taxpayer money to stand up to Putin, with no clear military plan, other than to " outspend" Putin and wear him down
-or-
Do we stop spending U.S. taxpayer money, allowing Putin to gain newfound confidence, allowing him to win the war, seeking out his new ' victim' in future years.
In case you can't figure it out, there is no good alternative for U.S. taxpayers. We are still wishing Biden had grown a backbone when Russia was amassing troops on Ukraine border, but Biden gleefully told Russia we would not intervene.
Biden is a box.
Peace through strength could have avoided untold death, destruction, and an unwinnable outcome.

This is more like the way it would of went down.
If trump was still president he would of sat down with Zelensky and Putin, and trump would of started rubbing Putin's left nut until Putin told him to stop, and start rubbing his right one.

Officials in Moscow continue to assert that Russia bears no malice toward Ukraine, did not attack its neighbor, and is not occupying Ukrainian territories.
Last week, Russian opposition politician Ilya Yashin was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison on charges of spreading "false information" about the army - - for discussing evidence uncovered by Western journalists of Russian atrocities in Bucha, near Kyiv, which Putin said had been fabricated.
And last month the Kremlin's spokesman said there had been no attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets, despite wave after wave of bombardment of Ukrainian power facilities that have left millions without heat or light in the depths of winter.

Russian drones attack Kyiv, as Putin's campaign of terror takes another swipe at Ukraine’s power grid
Kyiv, Ukraine CNN —
At least two people were hurt and key infrastructure has been damaged in a Russian drone assault on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, the latest attempt by Moscow to ravage Ukraine’s power supplies. [while at the same time insisting publicly they are doing no such thing]
Explosions and air raid sirens were heard around the city early Monday, with alerts sounding from 2 a.m. until after 5 a.m. local time.
The Ukrainian Air Force claimed to have shot down 30 out of 35 drones, but those that got around air defenses damaged power systems and civilian targets.
The Iranian-made, self-detonating Shahed-136 and Shahed-131 drones were launched from the “eastern coast of the Sea of Azov”

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s terrorist forces have repeatedly hit Ukraine’s capital and other large cities around the country in recent weeks, seeking to wipe out the power grid and forcing millions of Ukrainians to go without electricity, heating and water during the freezing winter months.
A Russian missile barrage on Friday dealt a major blow to Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure, leaving millions without power. Repeated missile and drone attacks since October, which have targeted critical infrastructure, are part of a strategy by the Kremlin to terrorize Ukrainians and is in violation of the laws of war, according to experts.
Only one-third of people have water and heat, and about 40% of people have power, the Mayor said in a post on Telegram.
The outages are due to damaged power grids, Mayor Klitschko said.

US should send more money and then continue pushing harder for "green energy" so we can all save money and save the environment at the same time. That way, we won't have to buy natural resources from other counties that are rich with natural commodities and resources. That'll work.
