What's crazy, and this isn't directed at you, Sab, but I am a gun enthusiast. I have friends that are gun enthusiast. Acquaintances and coworkers who are gun enthusiast. To be from the "liberal" west coast, I know a lot of gun nuts. Several members of the NRA. Of all of, only a select few, who are a little nuts, ever mentions someone "coming to take their guns". Personally, it's not a worry of mine. I worry about Gun shows being shut down. I worry about the price of ammo that has been sky rocketing for years. Maybe that's how it starts...but I digress. For all I here people on the right talking about "civil war" and "defending themselves from the crazy leftist hordes" i've never heard anyone on the left talk like this. I've definitely never heard anyone on the left suggesting "kidnapping and killing children" as a battle tactic. Maybe i'm just naive though.

@sundance you could be quite correct in deeming this a false flag. Series of events three weeks ago Russian and the west expelled each other’s diplomats to get them out of harms way from The masses. Both Russia and American economies are bankrupt and using inflationary tactics to keep it afloat.

What if defense industry in both nations want to have more business. Russia commands Syrian government to use the gas West acts accordingly Russia acts according to a rehearsed script.... and we already approved 780 for defense for the next 6 months. Literally we bombed the crap out of three vacant properties. Hardly any loss of life Russia showed the capabilities of the sa 400 missles defense system we showed the capabilities of the tomahawk cruise missles. France showed its capabilities of the rantadi jets and missles. Britain showed its capabilities of the new fire shadow missles.
Now orders can be placed for the equipment in a grand show case of the hardware the four nations are producing. Israeli already bombed a target on Monday but little is mentioned of that....

If it is a false operation it is more likely without Russian involvement. Western intelligence fakes attack as precursor to regime change. I 've thought of this scenario but think it more likely that Assad used chemical weapons on his people...again.

The area were the chemical attack happened on April 4th 2017 (when Trump had his first big show in Syria) is controlled by a group called Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, better known as the Nusra-Front. They are hardcore terrorist. Al Qaeda's branch in Syria.
When the alleged chemical attack in Douma happened on April 7th 2018, the area was controlled by a group called Jaysh al-Islam. Arabic for the "Army of Islam". Also terrorists basically. But because they fight America's enemy Assad they are portrayed as some kind of freedom rebels.
My point is that none of these people are trustworthy and they are totally capable of staging such an incident. They are the kind of people that would poison their own people to blame it on the enemy. I mean, they commit attacks with suicide vests or drive suicide cars into enemy check points all the time. They are fanatics and liars.
The problem is that Assad using poison gas on April 7th 2018 doesn't really make any sense. The Syrian army was winning back one area after another from the rebels. Douma was probably a matter of days, maybe a few weeks tops. Then Assad's military suddenly uses poison gas against civilians to turn the whole world agaisnt him? Makes no sense.
The incident in Khan Sheikhoun on April 4th 2017 is also very dubious. Rex Tillerson officialy said that removing Assad was no longer a priority, just a few days before that happened. Why would Assad do that? The guy is a trained eye doctor, he is married to a cultured woman that used to be an investment banker in London. Syria is a secular society. 2 million Christians used to live there before the war. It's not like Assad is some idiot who'd think "The US has said that they want to let me off hook. Now I can do what I want. They want change their stance. Let's poison some civilians to show my power..."
It all just makes very little sense. It's not logical.
There is a video about Khan Sheikhoun where you can see that they use one guy for several roles in this. In one scene he is a victim, in another scene he is a helper. I'll try to find it.

There are really strange coincidences.
In 2017 Tillerson said "Removing Assad is no longer a priority of ours"
A few days later Khan Sheikhoun happens
A few weeks ago the big media story was that Trump wanted to get out of the Middle East very soon. "Let others take care of it" were his word. Then suddenly Douma happens.
Then the media explanation is basically always "He is a bad guy. Bad guys do bad things. What else do you need to know? Why are you asking questions? Are you a Russian troll? blah blah blah"
And about the Skripal thing in England:
Russia is hosting the FIFA World Cup this summer. So a few months before they host the biggest event in the world that is watched by billions for a whole month, Russia decided that they need to poison some rather irrelevant former spy who was released from a Russian prison 8 years ago. Weird, isn't it?
There was also the Russian election coming up when the Skripal poisoning incident happened. But our media says that this is actually a good reason for Putin because he can portray himself as the victim of the West and can then win by a bigger margin...
But yan, common sense isn't really a thing here in our Western media when it comes to "our" enemies. They are just bad. Bad guys do bad things. That's all we need to know.

I think it is different now. I think the chasm will be much larger. Well then you need to take off your partisan glasses and wake up because while you are right about this going on for decades you are wrong about how I said there are ways to handle it.
If NOTHING else this is a situation of taking time to be 100% sure of what these actions will accomplish and that the validity of your reasons are completely legitimate...not just some advisor telling you something, get concrete multiple sources of verification if NOTHING else. Also there is no need for swift action here nor a need for the US to spearhead this, none at all. If Trump and his war buddies really wanted to do what is best for the country and the region and the people then wait until you have a majority of your allies in support...not one or two, but the majority....and do this together only when all other avenues have been attempted first and full concrete proof exists.
This is just another Iraq/Desert Storm joke...
