I disagree...you are implying things were great prior to Obama and this "attempt", that for sure is not the case because the root problem was there before Assad and will be after. So I do not agree with your analysis. I also do not believe that our special opps could not pull this off even if it took a few tries if they really wanted to. 

Yeah the religious fighting just started a few yrs ago...thats some solid logic right there, they were as peaceful as Flagstaff Arizona before Obama came into office and screwed the whole thing up.

Yeah thanks for the stats...but that isnt the point at all. The country has a variety of religious groups there and many of them are ready to die to protect their religious beliefs, like EVERY OTHER country in that region...it doesnt matter if things have escallated in the last 10 years, the Assad's have been in power for 40 yrs and they side with one specific religious sect...and religion controls everything there, in every country. The only time it does not is when a non-religious military dictator is in control and forces all groups to stop or face the consequences...much like Saddam did in Iraq.

You need to learn the dynamics of religion in that area to comprehend what I am saying. The Assads were in power since the 70s there are several religious groups who hate each other habitating the area, the issues pre-date 2011.

But yeah had Bush stayed in power they would have started democratic elections in 2012, that is a fact.

Syrian war broke out do for the need for regime change. Israel and turkey want to have a pipe line between the two countries Lebanon at the time approved it Syria did not so Assad had to go... everything else is propaganda.

This isnt about Obama, Trump made this decision on his own and not because of Obama.

There is no good solution there so to me the solution that is the most secretive and covert and the less other countries know we are involved the better because we cannot win there as nobody wins.
