So how many of the allies signed on to this decision? How many again?
How long did Trump take considering this action? Not long because the fake "trigger" event did not happen that long ago. There was no need to make a snap action like this, none...there was no pressing issue, no immediate domestic threat that warranted this decision.
Trump made a dictatorial decision without consulting congress and without an immediate pressing need, it was right out of the playbook of Bush I and Bush II

I pray for the families on the USS DONALD COOK . It is a tin coffin next to migs...
The U.S. destroyer, the USS Donald Cook...never fired a shot...
It was a ruse.
Part of a plan to distract Russia and its Syrian ally from an assault Assad’s government.....It worked brilliantly....... Pentagon officials on Saturday said they faced little resistance to their targeted attack..

In that argument an action that can potentially destroy the world in an effort to engage with the largest holder of nuclear weapons (Russia) should be engaged in some dialogue with congressional republicans at least as to the exactly what we are doing if we’re going to blow 50 million on a lesson against Syrian government backed by Russia.
unless this was just a big show for a demonstration of what the capabilities of the sa400 in Russia media “ the defense system held and responded as it should until it was overwhelmed and then could not keep up with the incoming middle count.

Darkhorse, You "got this", You can do this! Just put your thoughts into words. Don't let your lack of knowledge re: constitutional matters hold you back. Maybe Khizr Kahn can help you out?

It is true that ..“The constitution is clear that congress declares war”.........except.
President Trump's intervention in Syria does not rise to the level of a war.......if there is protracted intervention a declaration from Congress would be needed..for funding..
In fact the United
States has not officially been to war since World War II, which is
the last time Congress declared war ..

Humorous to see people like Wallstreet claim that this is a Republican game plan. They’re completely blind to the truth. The truth is this game plan in Syria was enacted 7 years ago by Obama. He sent in the CIA, backed questionable opposition (ISIS/Al Qaeda) and tried to get rid of Assad. It was a complete disaster that was barely covered by the media. It also created the worst humanitarian crisis since WW2. When Obama did this it brought Russia into Syria instead of just supporting Assad from the sidelines.

President Donald Trump says the United States has "launched precision
strikes" on targets associated with Syrian chemical weapons program.
The President says a "combined operation" with France and the United Kingdom is underway. The U.S. Navy has moved additional Tomahawk missile-armed ship within striking range,,,,
Syrian President Bashar Assad must learn ,,that President Trump's Red Line ..is really a Red Line....unlike other so called red lines in the past..
How is ok for President Ronald Reagan support Iraqi Saddam Hussein’s ruthless invasion of Iran, ignoring his more vicious gassing his own people.
Yet we now jump at the chance without any investigation to punish Assad for basically the same infraction?
It's no wonder to me why Islam extremists have little trouble finding followers considering our failed interferences in there region dating back to the CIA's handy work in creating the popular Shah dynasty. Could you imagine what would happen if lets say a country like Russia interfered with are
politics how offended this country would be

Hockey Puck just needs to get his penny in .[image from unapproved source]
Speaking of pennies..donate your "two cents worth", in your own words....like nature did.
I know exactly why the strike is not in violation of the constitution. After you post your reasoning ill quote the article, section and clause supporting mine.
Now back to Slims' request....

There is no altruistic/ democratic/ Christian/ Conservative/ American solution for ANYTHING in this region, there is no soft way of dealing with the root issues there....which is religious based.
The crimes are awful, no question about it and have been for centuries irregardless of leader or which party had control of the POTUS and congress. There is no way we can resolve the issues there because they root deeper than politics.
So while Saddam was terrible at least he kept the root problems under control and now we see what happens when you remove a dictator who crushes the religious fighting, then the extremist get to start attacking their enemies and more people die, the country infrastructure crumbles and much worse damage taking much longer to repair ensues.
Given that it is a FACT we have never stopped the religious fighting in that part of the world, what else is there left to do? Do we remove a dicator like we did in Iraq and burn trillions of dollars and millions of lives so now the religious groups can form their own power bases and fight each other until the end of the world? Is that a solid solution? Is a solution that we try and occupy these places and force democracy on them and kill millions of US soldiers, many trillions of dollars and millions of civilians?
I'd take the approach which does the LEAST damage and gives the greatest chance at freedoms possible and scrap the altruistic democratic christian whatever approach which NEVER stands a chance and only does more harm. There is no way anyone can think that removing Assad will make things better...even if the guy is removed and the place is nuked, everyone dead all that does is give more real estate for the neighboring religious extremists to fight each other...because there is an endless flow of religious hate from country to country right there and it will never stop until the world is destroyed.
