This is a choice between the hot team and the team that's been better all season. But not only are the Saints better, the numbers show they're a lot better. A few key stats: In yards per play the Saints have a 1.1 yard advantage over their opponents. The Cards have a 0.3 yard advantage. Also, the Saints D is allowing opposing QBs a rating of only 67. 

While the Cards offense was brilliant last week, watching them give up 45 points at home wasn't exactly reassuring. Add to that Arizona is playing on short rest -- the Cards go from a Sunday night game to a Saturday afternoon game -- and I'll take the home team. Saints small play.

I think this game comes down to Arizona offense and Saints defense. The Saints defense was banged up towards the end of the regular season and now should be well rested. Kurt Warner should be good for 3 interceptions seeing how he didn't throw any last week. I am not bashing Arizona or Warner, as I had Warner in fantasy this year so it may not be a feeling, just expected. I am on Saints -7.....just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Tony Clifton was one of the funniest guys. The only character i didn't like that that guy played was Latka. Everything else he did was just hilarious. Can't remember the actors name.

ARI +7: two prolific offenses and two porous defenses.  I'll side with the hot Cardinals who have the better defensive hog index (10th ranked vs. 15th ranked)….I know it's not that big a difference, but with the TD spread, I'll take the points. Score: Cardinals 33-Saints 28 (4 units).

Ari/NO OVER 56.5: a tired Arizona team and rested Saint team at home, and remembering the barn burner last week, i'll bite... (1 unit).

Playoff totals such as the one presented are either a blight on playoff football or stuck in the regular season...Hornets have been stumbling badly leading into the play offs they have been turning over the ball far too easily and have failed to force turnovers themselves thus keeping scoring well below their average..However they still have a D that has been waiting for this occasion plus Brees oozes the quality required to get the Hornets further and has been waiting for a possible matchup with his former team .
This is an exact repeat of last season for the Cards.. Losing the last regular season game by your amount and went on to the superbowl as to everyones surprise..They are a stealth team that will no doubt be hindered by having a question mark over Boldin Fitzy is top notch and Breaston could be ready however a team needs all cylinders to be firing if they wish to move forward in this enviroment..When all is said and done I feel that the opinion of a high scorer has only aided in the line being driven higher..Full circle after reasoning has me back at going for a lower total...

The edge:  

Coming into this game, Arizona has the so called hot hand.  P'll give them that.  However, Arizona shot their load last week to win the game in overtime.  Arizona is on a short week.  It is very difficult to change plays on defense and offense in less than 6 days and execute to perfection.  I truly think an older quarterback, like Warner, can not sustain the high level of output as he did last week.  I don't think he has the legs for it.  His passes will not be as accurate because of it, resulting in picks.  Warner, himself, said he's retiring because his body is wearing down.  It brutal to play at a high level in the NFL.  Saint will be studying that game very closely.  People are creatures of habit.  Brees is a freak when it comes to watching films, dissecting teams, and practicing plays to perfection. People are concern that the Saints will be out of sync.  If any team other then the Colts and Saints, I would be concern of the extended rest.  But, the Saints are not sitting around drinking beer and placing bets like most of us.  That being said, I'm not a fan of any team.  But I like the Saints in the dome laying 7.

What Saints team have you been watching the SAINTS have a good defense?  Not the team i have watching giving up plenty of yards at a clip!!!  I dont about the spread can go either way, but it will definately be a shootout!

History repeats itself once again.  Wild card week always tends to lean towards the underdogs.  After that point though, go with favorites.  Especially opening line 7 point favorites.  i.e. New Orleans and Indy today.  About that total, well, the only way it goes over is if AZ covers, which they won't, in a high scoring repeat of last week.

I was on AZ last week.  Before it became fashionable.  The Saints (as it was against the Bears) will again fail to live up to the hype.  Also N.O. has had a cupcake schedule and have still struggled.

I'm suprised how many people lean on Arizona+7.

Here is the thing. The is no way for Warner to play the same kind of game he did last round. There is a slim chance of course, but it's not gonna happen. He played probably the best game of his life, and it's almost impossible to keep your performance even close to that, so what I expect is at least 2interceptions and a QB rating under 100.
On the other hand Brees will come out strong, and they has to rip the Cards! And the crowd is gonna be sensational and loud as hell, no chance for Arizona here.

I have Over 50 along with Arizona +14 in a tease with Baltimore +13.5.   Also have over 50 in a 2nd tease.  That's as far as I'm going with this game.  I expect the Saints to win but their defense will not shut down the Cardinals.   I would not be shocked by a Cardinal upset either.  Actually NOTHING would shock me this weekend.  I think all teams are vulnerable.  Even SD.

A defense that has a high scoring offense usually shows higher yards and points than it should.  this is because teams are behind and throw for alot of yards or the team doesnt care cuz they come down the field and just score again.  In the fantasy football rankings they were practically number 1 all year long by scoring and causing problems for other teams.  Also Sharper is back which is huge and the 12th man of the Superdome in the playoffs will show you a good defense today.

Wells will run the ball and so will Thomas and Bush.  57 is a large number for a playoff game.  It actually is MORE than 2 TDs a quarter.

FInal play.... took AZ for the first quarter at +1/2.... Saints have started slow in the first this year.... I have a feeling the score of the first quarter will be 7-7

took  Zona +4 for the first half... some logic.....


small play on Zona moneyline.... definitely worth the payout.... Warner is 6-1 on the road completing 69% of his passes.....


Green Bay defense is much better than the Saints defense, and look what happned.......
