Committed a party foul and posted this in the other thread:

THE TOTAL FOR THIS GAME IS BASED SIMPLY OFF OFLAST YEARS STATS. LAST YEAR BOTH TEAMS GAVE UP AN AVERAGE OF 16 PTS PER GAME.  THE RAVENS SCORED 24.4 AND THE JETS SCORED 21.8

24.4+16/2= 20.2 BALIMORE

21.8+16/2= 18.9 JETS

GRAND TOTAL OF 39.1

I think we can excpect the same defensive performances from both teams if not slightly worse.  However I think both teams are improved offensively. I like Flacco as a quarterback and I like the fact we will probably see a lot of passing and dead clocks. Rice is a solid and versatile back, and Sanchez should be able to penetrate the Ravens secondary with a couple deep passes.

Yea. No question gonna be great hard hitting game.
With ray Lewis pissed at the jets, might as well be the whole team.
Not to take away jets talent, but Ravens are no joke and i dont think they lose game 1. period.  I love Baltimore in this game. I only like the under. They are two good qb's.

Defensive for Ravens not what it once was. Defense for Jets in better shape personnel wise. Revis was apparently important enough to them, they cried for weeks about it. Dont think that Ravens will score much on that defense. Jets will struggle as well in red zone. close to call. 16-13. Jets and Und for the large

One of my primary Rules of Betting is don't bet any sport until at least the first three weeks of the season are in the books.  I should have listened, but it was a long summer with no football.  I have just gotten salmmed the last two weeks in CFB and NFL (luckily MLB and CFL have bailed me out).  So you may want to fade me...

My gut tells me that that the Baltmore O comes to play.  Remember what they did to the Pats in the playoffs.  Flacco has matured a lot as QB and Rice is the real deal.  Tempted to take the over also, but let's limit the loses...

I think the show Hard Knocks has created a lot of unjustified Jets love this season.  Now that everyone thinks they know the Jets players they will somehow play better.

I disagree, the Jets offense is pitiful.  Shonn Green has proved nothing yet. LT is over 30 years old and therefore a has been in the land of running backs.

Mark Sanchez has done nothing to impress me on an NFL field and if I have learned anything from Hard Knocks it's that Sanchez is immature and does not want to be coached.  They can't even get the kid off his cell phone.

Now look Baltimore.  Flacco played well at the end of the season and Ray Rice is a top 5 back in the league already.  Now you add real wide receivers in Boldin and Housh and the once lethargic B-more offense seems to look mediocre to good. 

Only thing the Jets got is home field advantage and that means so much less in a low scoring game.

I'll take the better team and get a point.

want to say good stuff y'all. gonna ride over the low total with a feeling that mistakes make it happen easily. sanchez is awful cocky and flacco has new weapons. let sanchez get hot and its over easy. ravens put up 20 jets atleast 17.

Possible sloppy games with good "D's" (and one horrible QB here- Jets) make me think more towards under. Too each thier own. Good Luck

I gave you the teaser on Washington +11 and under 47.5 last night and the SU parlay would have cashed easily. Tonight the Ravens +8 and OVER 29 is my call. The Ravens have a strong offense and their D will likely cause some turnovers leading to scores. The Jets will have to air it out and either throw INT's or score themselves. The Jets only need 13 in this game for the over to come in, but then again the Ravens might get 24 or 28 themselves. This is a good offensive squad.

   We all understand the theory but wind affects scoring more than a little sloppyness....unless it's a mosh pit. From the drainage they have on pro fields...a new one at that...no mosh pit tonight. How about turnovers on your own end? Offense benefits from the wet turf as they know where they are going and tackling is that much tougher. Under is certainly possible but I still like my teaser Ravens +8 and over 29.
