O.K., O.K., I'm getting in early with this game because it's been bothering me for a couple of weeks now. This is an open letter to the Chicago Bears organization. First off, firing Lovie Smith (a defensive minded guy) was a HUGE mistake. Next, hiring Trestman, a West Coast style (and Canadian Football) offensive guru? Mistake #2..... Cuntler? Mistake #3, and "T.O." and "Ochocinco" style diva Brandon Marshall? Mistake #4.....

    Why, you ask?

Because the Bears are not a high powered offensive team. Never have been, never will be. It's always been ground-and-pound, "Monsters Of The Midway", let the defense manage the clock, take FG's if we have to, manage the game, and then, maybe, throw a couple of passes to mix it up a bit.

What the Bears need is a game manager - look, you made it all the way to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman for God's sake!!! Just take a look at what the Ravens are doing, because you're both set up kind of the same way. They have 2 Superbowl wins since moving here in 1996 - and who were the QB's? Trent Dilfer and Joe Flacco. Not exactly "gunslingers" now, are they.....

Now, having said all of this, is Josh McCown the answer? I don't know, but I'll tell you this - he won't be throwing 5 FRIGGIN' PICKS EVERY GAME!!!!

Lastly, let's say McCown is the "Game Manager" your team desperately needs, and he rattles off the next 4 games which might be tough because it's Packers, Lions, Ravens, and Rams. Or even if he goes 3-1. Now Cuntler's coming back from his "Vaginal Cramps" - do you pull McCown????

I guess only time will tell.....

Now, to this game - Bears rested, had time to get McCown "indoctrinated", Packers offense beat up, Monday Night Primetime division rival......

Bears M/L - - you heard it here first.........

    Good Luck All!!!

Easily the dumbest write up ever. Trestman and "Cuntler" are leading the number 2 scoring offense in the league. Shows how little you know. To be honest I stopped reading after the first part.

I'll give you that my post may be the SECOND dumbest write up ever - if you admit yours is the first!

Maybe you should have taken the extra 5 seconds and finished reading the rest of the post....

Here's the jist of it, and I'll answer your post. When you rank #8 in the league in picks and sacks taken, and tied for #3 in fumbles lost - it doesn't matter how many points you put up, your never going to be better than "average"....

And when you drop 3 of your last 4 - and your only win in that period is a "squeaker" against the hapless G'Aints AT HOME, maybe you should reevaluate what "worked" when you were "good".

    That's all I'm saying - - Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Look, I'm not going to keep defending this write-up. O.K. maybe M/L is a little wishful thinking, but, we'll see how the rest of the weekend goes. If a lot of the "favorites" come in, I'd really think long and hard about a Packers win & cover. Think I'm crazy? How'd that last Monday Night game play out......
Good Luck everybody, no matter who you bet on.....

I agree with you here TQY....Not saying the Bears win it for sure, but I think they have a great chance. So I was already thinking the same thing you were before I read your write up. Possibly Bears on the teaser would be a very safe bet.

I think this line is an overreaction to the Cutler being out. McCown came in last week under a baptism by fire situation and handled himself quite well. Given the Bears' familiarity with the Packers offense, I think they will be able to hold their own and do a much better job of containing Aaron Rodgers explosive passing attack than Minnesota did last week. Especially without the services of Jones, Finely, and Cobb.

I also think the Bears will not put the game on McCown's shoulders, play good defense, and emphasize turnover-free ground & pound football with Forte leading the charge. Speaking of ground and pound, the Packers will definitely try to exploit the missing Lance Briggs, so look for them to give a heavy dose to their workhorse Eddie Lacey.

With all that being said, I love the Bears and the UNDER. Pack total from last week was 75 points and the Bears total from the Washington game was a whopping 86 points!!! Now we have a total set at just 49.5. I think the previous high scoring games provide us with value, as we have 2 teams here that will be running the ball a lot!!

    My final:

    Bears 20
    Pack 24

    good luck

Until the Packers learn to not only keep their foot on the gas on offense but more importantly, do so while on defense, this team shouldn't lay double digits to anyone and I'm a die hard fan. They seem to enjoy nail biting a lot and the Bears always have me growing mine longer so I can bite till the end.

GB is 8-2 SU ( 9-1 ATS) between them last 10...including 4-0 (3-1 ATS) at home.  Green Bay has won last 6 meetings SU and last 5 ATS.  That's domination folks, especially on their homefield.

The line may be too rich with GB battling several injuries as well...yet the moneyline in a parlay is gold.

Bears will need to not only slow down or stop the Pack but, also stop Rogers from running wild Bears need to  find a way to stop em on 3rd downs and Rogers has a fkn eagle eye finding openings secondary or down field. My only concern is,will the Packers sit back again if they get a big lead? they had a 21pt leed on the Vikes, and they almost blew the 11pt cover.

If Bears can find a run game here n i think they can, they will milk the game clock n keep Rogers off the field.

takin a shot on the Bears here coming off a bye and a very important divisional tilt.

Briggs out is huge he's the captain on d. The Bears are no where near the same team without Briggs and Urlacher. Furthermore the Packers have a good run defense so if Forte is stopped how are they going to score points? This isn't the Skins D McCowan is facing. Rodgers will do what he always does beat the Bears. Packers easy. GL to all.

Definately the dumbest write up ive seen this week. youd think if you took the time to write so much you would have actually done a little research. Where to begin... why is the defense so bad? hmmm maybe injuries might have something to do with it? Lets not forget how you think McCown has to be "indoctrinated" in the system. He knows the system just as well as Cutler, if not better. He gets reps with the first string every practice, and gets to study the game on the sidelines and take notes. Everybody on the team says he knows the system very well.
5 picks a game by cuntler? he has 7 on the season in seven games. Ill do the math for you, its 1 pick a game. have you even watched them this year?

Once again, you people are missing the point......

So, think back to the, what was it, 2010 playoffs, when Cuntler left the game against the Packers with "Vaginal Soreness" (and thereby solidifying his "nickname")....... Not just any game, by the way, the game that decides WHO GOES TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!

Now, jump ahead one year - Steelers/Broncos - the "Tebow" playoff game - Roethlisberger's obviously limping around with a severe high ankle sprain, but he plays the whole game and goes 22/40 for 289 and if not for the O.T. "Tebow-Mania" prayer answered, they probably win the game......

Now, jump ahead to last year, RG III finally fully (and very graphically) breaks his leg in the flippin' WILDCARD game..... Should've been pulled long before that, but he wanted to be in there, and refused to be pulled........

I'm not going to keep giving you the thousands of other examples of "dedication" and "toughness", but, if you think the way overpriced, under-performing, problematic "Diva Twins" known as Cutler (currently ranked 19th in the league behind such "luminaries" as Tannehill, Carson Palmer, Geno Smith, and Sam Bradford):

    https://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/

and Marshall (currently ranked 21st behind Jordan Cameron? Cecil Shorts? and frickin' Alshon Jeffery - on his team who I'm sure makes waaaaaaaay less than he does)

    https://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving

are the answer to Bears Superbowl glory, I've got some oceanfront property to sell you in Arizona...........

But, hey, you know what, that's you're opinion, and you know what they say about opinions, and how everybody's got one.....

    Good Luck Everybody!!!!!!

9 of last ten in this match-up have been unders. With the banged-up GB receivers and no Cutler, and the number at 51, I'm thinking under.
