Got lucky to beat the Redskins, struggled to put away the Rams and the Falcons.

I haven't made a final play but IMO its best to post both pros and cons for both teams and not just the cons for the team you're betting against and the pros for the team you're backing.

Home field advantage means everything in this game. 

Not only has the Superdome's vocal support meant so much to the Saints' success this year... the incredibly loud crowd noise will have an impact on the Vikings offense (hey... it's the same thing opposing QBs gotta deal with when visiting Minnesota).

And... consider this:  the home team is 9-0 ATS in L9 Viking games... which included five games at their home Metrodome and four games on the road.  The average margin of victory for the winning team in those nine contests was nearly 22 ppg. 

Add the facts that RB Peterson has not reached 100 rush yds in L8 games (averaging just over 3 ypc) and that QB Favre was sacked 10 times in L3 road games (at Chicago, Carolina, and Arizona), and my money says that Minnesota's difficulty on the road will continue today... against an opponent that possesses the NFL's most offensive fire-power... and I'm betting that points will fall just short of the games inflated total.

I looked at this game long and hard. IMO the Vikings either have the lead or will be trailing by a FG late in the game with a chance to win outright. I expect both teams to turn the ball over. I expect the final score to be with-in 3-4 points either way.

I'm going back to the basketball forums, because there is too many immature and incoherent posts here,  but I just wanted to throw my two cents in.  Saints by a bakers doz.  Most people tell you it's homefield advantage that means everything right now.  It helps but think about who WANTS this game more.  Saints hands down, as a tip of advice.  You won't be betting against the Week 14-16 Saints.  This is the Saints from the beginning of the season scoring 40+.  The Saints offense will be able to keep their defense on the bench and keep them rested (which will lead to better defense).

Saints and the over... Both teams will score, but the Vikings Defense will not get to Brees like they did Romo, which means a long day for their secondary!!

Going into the Jets/Colts game, I was of the thinking that a running game + great defense wins a Championship game. I took the Jets. That thinking would dictate taking the Vikings. But now -- having watched this Jets/Colts game, I'm thinking these games are won by great QB's picking defense apart + home field. Ergo, I might have to go with the Saints. Darn, this is a very tough decision for me. I am wavering and flip-flopping like never before!
