um... no, they won't...

the public is all juiced up on these phony blow out scores, and it has you so brain-washed you think it can happen against the best team in football... they play a real team this week, and there will be no blowout, no running up the score, and probably no victory... the best defense on the field is playing for the blue and white...

lots of deluded fans out there, that's for sure... and like i said, it is humorous... who the hell do you think you're playing???  this isn't the Dolphins!  just like the Colts have to stop Brady, the Pats have to stop Manning... and the Colts are more well equipped to do their part than the Pats... the Colts have given up the fewest big plays in the league this year... if you really think you are going to be lobbing up bombs to Moss for TDs all day, you have a very simple-minded understanding of the game of football...

i hope Marvin plays, because if he does, the Colts will be putting on a clinic this weekend...

enjoy the game!

This has nothing to do with gambling b/c i wont be betting on this contest, BUT:

Man I can't stand patriots fans, can any of you provide analysis on this game without picking your team to win by 3 TD's.  The colts are the second best team in the league right?  So the pats aren't going to play a single close game this whole season, since their schedule gets easier after the colts?  They are going to go undefeated SU AND ATS??????  Perhaps people would use your advice if your name wasn't IheartTomBrady and NowThatTheRedSoxWonICanRootForThatOtherTeamThat'sUpHere.

You people are the reason you can buy a sleeveless hooded sweatshirt for $80.

Its a real shame too, b/c im sure you guys are really knowledgable about your team, I just wish you didnt always look through rose colored glasses.  This is the NFL and I dont care who your wideouts are who your QB is or what Bellicheat's scheme does to defenses, anyone can win any week, and the sooner you guys realize that, the easier it will be for you when the pats dont go 19-0.

The worst decision I ever made was coming into this thread and reading all this slurping of the Pats.  Win by 50 for all i care, I just hope once they do lose, you guys come back and get your comeupance.  And I hope the next kid Tom Brady has actually is given the last name brady, what a douche.

Man I feel better, let the insults from you fair weather cocks rain down upon me.  I bet you guys loved the pats in 1995. Kill yourselves.

I've yet to see anyone explain the first half of Indy's game last week against Carolina.  I watched it and was seriously disappointed because I thought Indy was going to lose and ruin this weeks matchup.  Vinny looked circa 1996 out there and the Carolina pass rush was giving Indy's O-line lots of trouble.  It would have been a much different game if Vinny didn't throw that INT in the endzone in the second quarter, they would have at least kicked a field goal there.  Plus Vinny didn't play in the second half and Carolina was stuck with an already injured 3rd stringer David Carr.  Needless to say, Carolina couldn't do anything in the second half offensively and Manning was able to get rid of the ball quickly and pull way ahead.

I know it's easy to say that Vinny DID throw an INT and Manning DID get it figured out in the second half but please explain to me why they struggled so mightily in that first half

GoG, you seem to have all the answers for Indy and since Indy backers are the real "handicappers", explain that first half for us and why it doesn't worry you and maybe more of us would be convinced of at least an Indy cover.

Someone should research further Tom Brady's career record in dome stadiums. Yes, they're are but two remaining (moving roofs excluded). Yet, Brady is somewhere near as terrible as Brett Favre when playing in domes.

Yeah, you should have researched it further, Tom Brady is 10-1 in games played in domes, his first loss was last year against Indy.  He's only lost 2 games in his entire career that were played on artificial turf.  And now he actually has the weapons to take advantage of the fast surface.

The Colts are NOT the best team in football. The Patriots are.

The best CB on the field (Samuel) plays for NE.

The best LB on the filed (AD Thomas) plays for NE.

The best DE on the field (Seymour) plays for NE.

The best DT on the field (Wilfork) plays for NE.

Not to mention Colvin, Vrabel, Seau, Bruschi... four of the most cagey veteran LBs in the game. (Who even plays LB for the Colts?)

The only two players the Colts need be concerned with are Freeney (handled by Light and Kyle Brady), and Sanders (who will be forced to cheat up to the LOS when NE starts gaining big chunks of yardage with the draws and screen plays to Faulk and Maroney).

On those draw plays, Welker will be deployed as a blocker, and once the Dbs start to sell out on those blocks thinking "run", Welker will cut up field and Brady will kill them with the Play action.

I agree. However, I am not one of them.

The Pats have had plenty of success stopping Manning with THESE WRs in the past. The same can not be said for the Colts against THESE NE Wrs. The Colts struggled to stop Brady with a bunch of stiffs last season. There is NO WAY they will be able to contain the group on the field Sunday.

Based on what?? Which match-ups are you giving the edge to on defense over the NE offense? Please be specific. Do the CB's match up well against the WRs? Does their pass rush trump New England’s (ridiculous) pass protection? Do their LB's match up well with Ben Watson or Kevin Faulk? Do the Colts have a better pass rush than SD, or a better secondary than Washington? (Serious questions).

The Colts are a "execution based" defense. There is nothing real “exotic” about them. It will take more than just good execution to beat what could be the greatest offensive team that the league has ever seen. They are just too talented. It is going to take great game-planning, and in that dept. Belichick gets the check every time. He may not be winning any popularity contests over Dungy... but when it comes to X's and O's Belichick wins hands down.

Exactly what "Big Play" offenses have they played? Are you serious?? That stat means nothing going into this game.

First of all, there isn’t a CB in the league who can cover Randy Moss. He is a treat to go down field every single play. He has the size, speed, hands, and jumping ability advantage over any of the Colts DBs. So the probability of him catching a "Bomb" in this game is just as likely as it is any other week.

That said... the Patriots DONT NEED to lob bombs up to Moss all game to blow the doors off of Indy. They have a plethora of weapons. Moss can be just as effective as a decoy, dragging extra defenders with him to the sideline and opening up the middle of the field for Stallworth, or allowing Brady to exploit mismatches (like Ben Watson on a LB).

See now… I wish I would have read this sentence first. Obviously you are a Colts fan (or Patriot hater) and are thinking with your heart and not your head. I could have saved some time typing all of this!

 Anyway… Enjoy the game.

The last line of your post is the funniest Mogamedogz,

Anyone who mentions Kevin Faulk as a reason the patriots will win is most certainly a Pats fan.  and by the way:

um dwight freeney is the best DE
The best RB is Addai
The best S is Bob Sanders
The best TE is Dallas Clark

For whom do these EXCELLENT players play??????

Did you just list Seau and Kevin Faulk????  If Junior Seau has a dramatic effect on the outcome of this game I will walk to New England and shake his old ass hand.

Dude if NE had such success stopping Indy's pass offense how did indy come back from 20 points down in the second half of the playoffs last year???????????????  And how did they win the last 3 SU against NE????????????  All you guys do is point out what favors NE, look at the big picture here, the colts are not the dolphins, jets, skins, cowboys, or anyone else in the league, they are the DEFENDING SUPER BOWL, BEAT THE PATRIOTS TO GET THERE, UNDEFEATED INDIANAPOLIS COLTS.  If you homers are comfortable giving a touchdown to Peyton Manning at home, be my guest.

But to say that there is "no way" and "blow the doors off" and all of that ridiculous nonsense is unbelievable, when do the colts ever get blown out.  You guys are absurd, to dismiss the colts like this is pretty unbelievable guys, if you dont see that you're high.

The patriots are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I will never deny that, but to think that this game has already been won, why the fuck would any of you watch it then?  Why would it even be played?  Step back and realize we are in for a great game, and if the Pats cover it wont be by 3 TD's, get your life together and act like you know something about the NFL.

ts... the reason that first half doesn't worry me is 1) it wasn't a bad first half, it was a bad first quarter... weren't they up 10 at halftime?  2) i saw Cleveland march the ball up and down the field on NE all day (in their house)... a game that would have ALSO been much closer if not for an int in the endzone on their first drive, and a meaningless fumble return in the last minute of the game that bumped the score up to 17... a score that almost didn't hold up as Cleveland went right down the field and had a couple shots in the endzone to get a last second score...

once again, an example of bringing up one example while ignoring others... let's not forget the Bills were leading the Pats 7-3 well into the second quarter... you explain why that doesn't worry you...

Moga... didn't get very far through your post until i got to:

"The best DE on the field (Seymour) plays for NE."

great analysis... ironic that you end your post talking about ME thinking with my heart...

you also say Samuel is the best CB... but he's not the best DB... you talk about how Brady can exploit the mismatch of Watson on a LB, while ignoring the same on the other side with Clark on a LB... and how the Pats running game will force the safeties to cheat up, but ignore the fact that the Colts running game has been far more effective at doing this to their opponents so far this year... it is all one side of the coin with you... i'ts nonsense... empty talk!

like i said... you have built this team up in your mind to be something they are not...

try to enjoy the game...

Its funny that people believe that Indy will win.... Indy is great team and on of the best franchises in sports but they are not better than NE.

NE played Dallas and Washington which both are in the top 10 in defense, and they hammered them ALL game, unlike Indy that had trouble against the Panthers(first half) despite winning that game(thanks god cause I had them).

Indy is really good but they're not in the same caliber as the Pats.

You expect everyone to play 100% against the Pats, yet Marvin Harrison will not be able to(best reciever for Indy).

NE are out there to prove something and for revenge...whereas Indy are not.

NE 34

IND 17
