It's been four years and both teams' rosters have changed significantly, but the fundamental philosophies of each organization remain unchanged.  The Giants balanced offense can hang with New England if by chance it becomes a shootout.  The more likely scenario is the Giants winning a low-scoring game led by their Defensive Line.  The NE passing game is all about protection and timing.  The Giants never-ending wave of QB-attacking defensive lineman will rattle Brady the entire game and Eli will do what needs to be done to get the win.  For what it's worth, I'm not a fan of either team.  Just callin' what I see.

I know it's easy to say four years after the fact, but I was all over the Giants ML and the under then, and I like both plays even better this year!

I agree with your points but you were bringing up regular season shortcomings for the Patriots but not bringing up regular season meltdowns for the Giants. The Patriots defense is atrocious yardage wise but actually is average points wise. They also make the best 2nd half adjustments in the game thanks to Belicheck. They are also playing for double revenge (Super Bowl 42 and their Home Loss Streak). Just saying it is going to be an extremely hungry Patriots team. This will not be a walk in the park for either team which is why I have yet to pick a side. I think the 3 point line is spot on. If Gronk is out I would lean GMen but it is a toss up.

You're on the wrong side.  If you originally placed the line at Giants laying 1 or 2 points and it actually opened at NE -3' that should tell you something.  And by something I mean don't bet harder on the Giants.

Everyone and their mothers was on the Patriots in that Super Bowl but somehow everyone took the Giants in Super Bowl 42 according to these posts. That makes no sense since the bookies made a killing on that game thanks to the GMen. So I am highly doubting every poster on here took the GMen in that game. Lets be real people.

      The Patriots ALWAYS find a way to win in games that mean something. After much painstaking analysis, I see no reason for that pattern not to continue here. Tom Terrific was quoted as saying his performance against the Ravens sucked. Brady is quite capable of backing up his mouth. But then most potential Hall of Famers can!  For years the Pats have shown they have more depth in their roster, to get the job done. I'm not going to be concerned if Rob Gronkowski can't make it to the "show". Brady can easily  throw up 30 or 40 points if needed, and the "bend don't break" defense should be able to sufficiently contain the G-Men from outscoring the Pats.

I agree  with your 100%.  And I have a few things to add.  In rematch games the team that won in the stats in the 1st game usually wins in the rematch game.  NE outgained the NYG in the 1st game.  NE was fortunate to win the AFC championship game.  But NYG was also forturnate to win the NFC championship game.  BAL outplayed NE and SF outplayed NYG.  NYG was fortunate to beat NE this year wk 9.  NE outgained NYG.  NYG scored the game winning TD after a controversial pass interference penalty against NE.  NE def is better than the stats.  NE give up a lot of yards but they do not give up a lot of points.  NE ran the ball 31 times vs BAL.  NE are working on their running game.  NE want to implement a ball control off vs NYG.  NE will have a more balanced off vs. NYG.  Belichick has never lost to the same team twice in the same yr.  Belichick will find a way to win this game.  I like NE to cover -3 and the under 55 1/2.

Pats will win and cover this game, the line starting at 3.5 should be a good indicator, it tells me that vegas is begging people to take the giants, that's just my opinion though, maybe im crazy but i dont think so this time......PATS..........as far as over or under i would go over

Why do you and so many others on this site feel the need to attack people instead of discussing the games logically and trying to help each other out?  I did in fact have the Giants ML, the under, and I parlayed them both, making for a quite a good day.  Frankly, I don't care whether or not you or anyone else believes me.  How about looking at the reasons I'm picking them this year and commenting on that instead of making assumptions and taking personal shots at people. 

One more thing, did you ever consider that the percentage of people on this site who picked NYG four years ago would be higher than the general population?  People who don't bet all year come out of the woodwork for Super Bowl action.  There are many sharp cappers who use this site daily, yet you find it impossible that any of the posters here outsmarted the public?

Good luck to all non-haters, and take the G-Men and the under, whether or not you believe I called it four years ago.

Pretty sure the poster was talking about Super Bowl wins, and Brady has 3 and Montana has 4.  You referenced "playoff" wins.  The current score on that is Montana 16, Brady 16.

If you are going to take shots at people, it might be good to have your facts in order.

patriots -3. i think this line should be closer to 7...this will be my largest play ever too....patriots 37-13 win by dd's....also playing 1st half for half the units im playing on game....hopefully i can get the trifecta, 1st half, 2nd half and game....bradys gonna light them up and set more records...gl all

i agree with you bro, i think this could be one of the best super bowls in history. i know it sucks when your team isnt there. but come on, if the 49ers were there, the pats wouldve smashed them, and i dont think it wouldve been that great of a game like this matchup. i remember the last super bowl between these 2 teams and it was a great game. the giants d showed up and upset the pats...this year u have 2 great offenses and 2 d's that can be exploited...gl with your play

I think the perception is that this game will mimic the superbowl and/or the recent regular season game, which would lean towards giants and under. I find it hard to believe that brady will play pedestrian two games in a row and Belichick is not one to take getting beat down lightly-see ravens this year playoffs and the jets twice this year after crushing the pats last year in the playoffs. Its possible we might see a new england blowout if manning makes a few mistakes. We forget that the pats had several early turnovers in their last superbowl that they couldnt capitalize on. If it had been 17 or 20-3 at halftime.....hmmmmmm

New england and over for the large!!!!!

My gut tells me that Giants will win. G-men defense will perform better than Ravens frustrating Brady. He will have no chance to go deep while Eli will run the ball, throw deep and short - racking up the score. Ravens should have won last week but self destructed.

G-men offense will be better. Brady will press and there will be mistakes. It's all good until game time.

after facing the 49ers defense this will seem like a scrimage for the giants and as for patriots they think they just saw a tuff defense well here comes another and from the performance they had vs ravens well you kinda get the picture.... giants held the best QB in the league to score 20 oh same amount of points brady scored the 1st meeting up in pats home stadium... giants easy win here if you ask me...

pats defense is terrible look at who they have played throughout the year.... nobody... and in the playoffs they played denver and ravens come on now compare that to falcons 49ers and packers who the giants held all to less then 20 points...

you are absolutely right it isnt 2008 and as for brady being injured in 08 and not being mobile has he been hurt his entire career brady isnt a mobile QB smh....

The line has gone down to NE -2.5.That means the books are begging people to take NE because all the is on the Giants.Giants win str8 up maybe by double digits.GLE

OK PATICAKE, been waiting for my favorite cappers play.

Two points I want to make before posting my pick.

First,let's all celebrate the fact that it's a Manning -Brady Super Bowl and not a Vick-Sanchez (It was supposed to be us Bowl).

Secondly, this is the Manning - Brady Super Bowl. Everything else about this match-up is irrelevant. If Manning wins this game who's the better QB?  TWO SU DOG SUPER BOWL WINS (over the Golden Boy) FOR MANNING will make a pretty good case for the Giant QB. Pressure is on Tommy. This game is all about the QB's. With that being said, I'll lose my money on the;

New York Giants - 31                          New England - 21

GEE-MEN +3                                   under 55

Congrats to the Mara's Tisch, and Manning family's for another Lombardi trophy on their mantle.

Hope I'm invited to pc party.........
