Not bashing here but I wouldn't describe Querrey as a 'bad player on clay'. Look at his results and you'll see he pushed Wawrinka and Thiem to 3 sets and beat renowned clay court players Struff and Zeballos. Should be a close match either way. Good luck. |

2016/17 : 2-6
Here goes...... Cairns Taipans/Melbourne United - total under 158.5 Cairns Taipans : +3.5 Missing Goulding has really taken its toll on United who really look to be struggling at the offensive end. Cairns are a decent defensive side who will keep this game close. Looking at a slow tempo dog fight here.

No mate. I simply haven't followed it closely enough to make any proper calls on these games. Will focus on the NBL and try and pick a few winners.

Melbourne Tigers : -3.0
Fading Perth away from home. They look very talented on paper but still need time to gel. Tigers will miss Goulding but have plenty of big names to fill the void.

Season to date : 2-4 Not a great start to the season but will go again, liking this weeks games. New Zealand Breakers/Sydney Kings under 163.5 This is a play on the defensive awesomeness of the Breakers. It has been a successful game plan that they've used over the past few seasons and new Coach Henare has embraced it again this season. The Breakers are a patient grinding kind of team who like to control a slower type of tempo, especially on their home court. The only doubt is whether Sydney can get on the break enough and hit their outside shots. I'm betting they wont get the chance too often against the Breakers. |

Brisbane : -4.5 Brisbane are probably the best performed team thus far. The sixers have shown, and will continue to show inconsistency for the rest of the season. The books are giving Adelaide a little too much respect in this game. |

Perth/New Zealand - Total under 155.5 Here are 2 teams with a history of low scoring matchups. While the Wildcats are keen to play a more up tempo game that will take time to fully implement. The Breakers, on the other hand, will do as Cairns did when they played in Perth and slow the game down at all costs. Defence will also be fierce as it always is when these 2 play each other. |

Adelaide : +1.5 Another game with value here. United have been very average while the Sixers have shown some good signs. This is a historical play as much as anything because Melbourne have only won once in Adelaide in their last 8 visits. |

Quote Originally Posted by AussieDownUnder: NBL: 0-0 WNBL: 1-1 Well I sat back and watched all the games from week #1 in the NBL to see how the new imports and team changes looked and I gotta say, out off all the teams, Melbourne was the worst. They lack leadership on the court, they lack any form of rebounding and Goulding for some reason has a chip on his shoulder and thinks he is MJ these days. Thats not going to get you wins. Their starting 5 for me is not impressive anymore. They are missing Holt. Blanchfield doesn't cut it, Majok for some reason has been very quiet, Anderson is playing well (best on the court) and then Jackson tries his best but had nothing on Randle in that Adelaide game. If I get a chance, i will take Randle for MVP this season because if he can get the 36ers to the playoffs, that would be amazing as they are a young, defenseless team but if one man can do it, its Randle. The Kings useless once again. Scored 10 points in the 1Q and then Bullets took the a decent lead in the 3Q and didn't look back. Bullets now 2-0 under their great coach. Adelaide horrible vs Hawks, bounced back in a big way vs Melbourne coming from an NZ game. When the 36ers play Hawks again, we may see a 200+ total on that game. Cairns played very well in the 2H, they looked flat in the 1H and bounced back, took the lead but then blew it and then didn't cover in the end in OT but I think they will be a lot better this season. The import for me in Week #1 was McKay, Perth's new man. Good on both ends but Perth like Melbourne, looked lost without Beal. Martin is Martin, but he can't do it all himself. Prather 50-50 for me. They miss Matt Knight in a big way. Their bench seems very weak as well. The surprise package for me was the Breakers. New coach, some new players but I like them a lot. Webster, Penney, Pledger, Abercrombie, Vukona, Woodside, Loe and the others. This team looks good IMHO. Travel is always an issue for them but I think they may surprise a few this weekend in Perth. They have had plenty of rest for this game and have some revenge on their minds.. Won't go into any details about the WNBL as I don't think many on here follow the league closely. BOL everyone this week.. Good summary there bud. For me the team to watch are the Bullets. Great coach and a quality line up which is strong in all positions. Really surprised at the Tigers. Still see them coming good eventually but I will likely steer clear of their games until they show a bit more consistency.

True mate but the result doesn't surprise me. This season is different to any other we've had with the extra import and return of Aussies abroad, the talent level in the league has gone through the roof.

Sydney Kings +5 Hard to cap this league so far but tonight I see some value in the Kings. Illawarra got off the chain last week against an Adelaide team that gave up in the last quarter. Don't expect the same this week, especially with the Kings new import Josh Powell suiting up. Too much talent on that roster and they will be a handful for the Hawks tonight.

McKay is a beast at both ends, Prather has returned from the Vegas League with a new and improved game and Johnson comes with big raps from the D-League. If all these guys get going then we could be in for some real entertaining ball. |

Perth Wildcats/Cairns Taipans -Total game score OVER 158.5 Based on the history of these 2 teams playing at Perth the trends are pretty favourable to an over in this one. One thing that did come out of Perth's first game loss was they have some potentially potent offensive weapons on their roster. Should things click for the Cats then they could very well run up a big score in this one. |

ADU, good to see you mate.
Really looking forward to this season. The extra import should make a real difference in quality for the league plus some big name Aussies coming back home. I do think we'll see high scores again with a lot of up tempo ball being played. As for my Wildcats, they have some very exciting imports on board including an improved Casey Prather. Letting Beal go was a risk but the coaching staff are pretty excited at the team they've assembled so I'm quietly confident of another good showing.

2015/16 record: 40-29
Melbourne Tigers -2.5 Tigers are loaded this season adding David Anderson and former Breaker Cedric Jackson to their line up. The Breakers losing Jackson to Melbourne was huge and although they've added Kirk Penney it will be hard for them to compete with the top teams this year unless their imports really fire. Think the Tigers make an early statement here.

Hell of a thread USC, this thing has really taken off.
Just thought I'd share another success story with the thread. Started with $20 about 5 and a half weeks ago. Since then I've tailed mostly plays from this thread with various spread and ML parlays. My balance now sits at $1170 and change. Eg. Today I hit with a parlay of Boston, Memphis, Kansas and Syracuse +13.5 . Fantastic range of knowledgable posters here who know their stuff. I'm aiming to save enough cash for a US holiday later this year so may the success here continue. Excellent work to all contributors, keep it up
