@best_bets Couple that with more tighter wound baseballs, which MLB could easily incorporate, you have a recipe for mammoth bombs. |

@Unclebenelli Good point, Ub, but I believe they would inflate the distance number much like velo inflation on the speed gun. |

Capping the HR Derby is always a crapshoot due to all of the many variables involved - endurance being the main one. While Ohtani is clearly the public favorite, I'm thinking he comes out strong the first few rounds seeking to put on a show, then maybe fades at the end after blowing his wad early. Trevor Story is a trendy pick as the home town favorite, but I don't think he's built for this type of competition. Thus, I'm gonna think outside the box and roll with Joey Gallo (that's G-A-L-L-O) who's on a serious roll lately and possesses the strength and experience to go the distance. Gallo to win (+350) Gallo longest HR (+275) Finally, 519.5 ft is one helluva poke, but don't think for a second those balls tonight won't be juiced to the gills. MLB is suffering from some woeful attendance/viewership numbers and really needs a monster bomb tonight to spark fan interest. That, coupled with the notoriously helpful atmospheric conditions of Coors field, and I'll take a crack at....
Longest HR of the evening (o519- ft) GL everyone

Hit the White Sox RL yesterday and not much thought change today. Sox are now 6-0 on the RL against the Os this season and all signs point to 7-0 after today. Sox are 4th in the league in runs scored averaging 5+/game. Moreover, Sox are 3rd in the league in Run Differential (+115) while the Os are 31st (-136)...a very sizeable comparison. That said, I'll roll with the trend and take.... White Sox RL (-125) In addition, I like the over in this one for a number of reasons. Sox starter Dylan Cease has been underwhelming lately largely due to a marked decrease in spin rate. And, while Os' starter, Spencer Watkins, pitched relatively well in his MLB debut, the Jays most likely had zero film to study from - something the Sox will have the benefit of doing. While I typically tread lightly on Sunday afternoon overs for a few reasons, I can't overlook the fact that BOTH the Sox and Os are 11-4 L15 against this number. Thus, I'm also taking.... Sox/Os over 9.5 (-145) |

Sox are 5-0 on the RL versus the Orioles this season. Lucas Giolito on the mound today looking to follow up a May 30th victory over the Os pitching 7 strong innings striking out 12 batters and allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Sox offense top 5 in the majors averaging 5+ runs per game. All of that said, I'll take.....
