First of all, respect the work and time you put in. Been betting bb for a long time and it can be a real grind.
I like Fulmer a lot, but no concern first game with JD going out. I know you are an ROI guy, but not sure the line fully takes that into account. He was doing really well and may take the Tigers awhile to adjust to his absence. Not to mention, KC one of the best and Tigers one of the worst bullpens. Agree with Key, I think 1st 5 is a better play there. |

Feel your pain on the Reds pick. Had them as well. I seriously was surprised not to lose the bet the inning before when they put Simon in. When they only scored two runs in the top of the inning and the guy got thrown out at home, I knew the two runs wouldn't be enough.
The Reds certainly have a horrible bullpen (currently rated one of the worst of all time), but Simon is just god awful and has been for quite sometime. I was disappointed when they moved him to the bullpen because he was a definite FG bet against, 1st 5, 1st 5 over, and opposing TT, making a nice Superfecta. On Rangers as well. Books continue to undervalue the Rangers overall and a pitcher the quality of Lewis. |

Bubba's $$$$ Thread ~ SUNDAY ~ Post Your BEST Play (With Write-up) ~ 05/22/16

Good day yesterday except for Toronto TT over. Tailed the KC play, hit my 4th $$$$ this week, and road that Miami game with you guys and really had to sweat it out in the 9th.
Of course, I faded Shoemaker as well. Guy certainly seems to have a good splitter though when it is working. I think he will still have trouble with patient teams that don't swing at the splitter and wait for that less than average fastball, or better yet jump on that first pitch he kept grooving in and Baltimore kept taking. Agree on Seattle today. Got juiced since overnight came out, so can't qualify for a $$$$ play. Good comments about wind blowing out today. May back that up with a small over play. Not $$$$ plays, but a couple of real value plays. Hamel getting + money against Houston. Keuchel used to be $ money at home. Not so much anymore. I also like Baumgartner against Hendricks (NOT Lackey, if so, it may have been a $$$$ play). Small price on Baumgartner and SF (a number #1 starter versus a # 5) was red hot before they faced Jake and I think the Cubs offense AND defense suffers with Heyward out. |

Boger, I like the BJ. Always like them against hittable lefties. I made a small play earlier on TT over 5 runs.

Pimp, going to tail your Royals play. Gonzo has been on my WS play/fade list. Didn't know much about Duffy recently. Your information helped make it a play.

I personally think it is kind of a tough board today, so I will spend a little time the rest of the morning looking at others thoughts, but for my 4th $$$$ win and extra $,I am going with the one game that sticks out for me:
$$$$ - Seattle and Hernandez -140 -1R (180/+100) I don't think I need to tell the board how good Hernandez is. He historically has not gotten great run support (only twice this year in 8 starts) from a Seattle team, who is actually hitting the ball for once, and Seattle is only hitting .238 against lefties, but Cincy is hitting under .230 against righties, so Hernandez should be able to get me to at least the seventh to where if Seattle doesn't have the lead, they will be able to get to the bullpen, which actually may go down as the worst ever (heard it last night), and I have been saying most of the year (as well as others in the thread) gives you a chance in every game against them. Yanks/Reds shows how a good/bad closer affects the entire bullpen. A good closer allows you to use your other potential closers for 7th and 8th and when you lose a good closer you need to shift your bullpen and put people in spots they are not accustomed to. Btw, if you don't know it (I didn't until yesterday), the Diamondbacks aren't that far back from the Red in having the worst bullpen this year. Good to know in a hitters ballpark like Chase field and a division where you play a decent amount of road games in Coors field. |

Bubba's $$$$ Thread ~ FRIDAY ~ Post Your BEST Play (With Write-up) ~ 05/20/16

Agree with all of the analysis. Cleveland/Over looks good, Quintanna is a beast, should always bet against Sanchez for Detroit, etc., but my $$$$ tonight is on Jake and the Cubs -1 @ -148.
Even with my normal juiced Cubs line, I got -180/-115, giving my -148 on the -1 RL. I know all about the road splits, home splits etc., but my continued play on Jake is real simple. Do you realize, the Cubs just don't lose for him. I hear you, he normally gives up less than 2 runs a game, which certainly helps, but ask guys like Hernandez on Seattle if your team getting a few runs doesn't help. You just have to be too fine in those scenarios. Here is the line if you don't know it. If you take away, the stinker against the Mets last year in the playoffs, the Cubs have only lost 1 of his starts in the last 29. That is literally crazy when you think about it. I feel sorry for all of the sad contrarians out there, who thought the Cubs are due to lose one of his starts. Of course, I get Peavy on the other side, which doesn't hurt. I don't think he is back just because he had a decent start last time out, and again, it doesn't matter. I actually have been taking the Jake ML at anything under -300 and I will ride this crazy streak until it ends. I do agree that Giants are hot right now, so I plan on being cautious with Lester tomorrow. |

Although I know zero about soccer, time for me to get on the bus and get a book that posts those games. Newmie, truly is on a serious roll.
I am on Sale and Cleveland also. Been on Tomlin at least three of his wins, and you always feel like you are in the game against that shitty Reds bullpen and Sale keeps sailing I guess you can say. Although, spread is high, I don't think you can go against Cavs right now. TT is always an option if there is a concern about covering. Pimp, no way I can argue Trout. Dude is a serious stud. Can you imagine those two on the same team going lefty/righty. Also agree with your Yanks analysis. They remind of the Royals too. |

Bubba, my $$$$ for Monday Zimmermann is missing from my totals. I also have the same issue of not bring able to bold from my smartphone.
My $$$$ play for today is also Washington and Strasburg, currently at -118 I agree with the reasoning above, but a little more simpler than that. The Nats are 19-2 in Strasburg's last 21 starts and 8-0 this year. They know how to get him off the hook the few times he pitches a bad game. Been saying it all year. Not worried that Harper is 0-20 against Harvey and his 3-5 with only 3 QS record this year. I also like the fact that Dusty FINALLY listened to me and started batting Murphy and his high 300's batting average behind Harper (who I personally think is the best all around player in baseball right now), offering him some protection. Compliments to the board last couple of days. Been too busy to post, but had a chance to scan and some good picks/analysis. Agreed with most, but wasn't even looking at under in SD/SF yesterday and tailed it and it was a nice way to wrap up a good day. |

Bubba,
Comments well taken. I personally enjoy the thread and have been guilty of cluttering it up with a lot of editorial. In respect for the thread, will reduce that. Only $$$$ plays for me going forward. Easy today because only one game stuck out at me. My play $$$$ today is Zimmermann and the Tigers -142. No secret Detroit has not been playing well although they burned me and won yesterday, but I was really surprised when I saw the line. I get Zimmermann with less than a 1.60 ERA at less than -150 against one of the worst teams/road teams, who have had just a brutal recent schedule. We all know Zimmerman is solid. Yes, he lost his last two games to Scherrzer and hamels who never seems to lose since he left Philly. He already beat MN 4-1 late last month in MN. I will admit he is facing a pitcher in Berrios, who has some pretty good stuff, but seems to be working through some control issues so far in the bigs. |

Didn't have much to add on earlier plays as I totally agree on Yanks (although not a big Tanaka fan and that is proving out early in the game) and Baltimore as well. Not to mention, I am tired of this site locking up all the time. I treat the WS like the Cubs. Sale, Quintana and Latos plays, and the other two guys potential fades.
Baltimore is white hot right now and Tigers are ice cold.
That being said, I am on Lester today, although, I am getting really juiced Cubs lines now. I didn't see anything on Toronto. I like Toronto at -1 today. Sanchez can pitch, has good road splits and Toronto notoriously hits LH pitching, although bats aren't totally heating up lately. Like the Mariners as well. Will also ride against Leake tonight if I have a good day. That being said, I have a little time for a write-up, so I will come back with a $$$$. I am on AZ -120 both pitchers listed. Cain has also been on my fade list like others here, but I also like the way Ruby is pitching right now. Starting to listen to his coaches, Pedro, etc. and really trusting his stuff. He has really only had one real stinker since that first game against the Cubs. Era is down under 4 right now, which is pretty impressive when it was up around 14. Shut out Cards at home in that hitter friendly park and only gave up one run in Coors. The team and he are both 4-1 last 5 games. Good board today, but I think this game offers the best value for a $$$$ play. PrimeTime, like your write-up and play on the Heat. Totally agree. I just hope Toronto isn't able to adjust to the small line-up with a day to prepare. Another NBA capper I respect likes them as well. I got Miami for the Series and was debating whether to hedge at all. GL Everyone! |

Cleveland bet is probably going to take 1/3rd of my parlay winnings.
Agree with the board. I definitely plan on continuing to fade Peavy. I also agree with over in Baltimore both 1st 5 and game. Sanchez has not had ONE quality start all year and 10+ starts going back to last year and the 'bad' Wright is on the other side. I like the Mets small. Varrett hasn't given up a run in his other two spot starts and he does have a quality start at Coors Field which I always like to see. Regarding the Nats, I like Roark, but NP, Harper is sitting out tonight's game. |

Adding Cleveland at -1, -147. I hate laying that kind of juice on a pitcher like Kluber that is constantly overvalued, but MN is obviously cold as ice right now, finding out all kinds of ways to lose, especially on the road and have a brutal schedule. How can the scheduling gods only have them at home for one series and send them on the road again?
Have to fade them right now, but I agree with comments I think Pimp made a week or so ago. This team is not as bad as they are playing and will offer some really good value when they get it together. |

I never hate in anyone's thread and I rarely take the time to stick up for someone because they can do it on their own, but I don't agree with all the hate here. Even if you don't agree with the plays and want to dis the recent record, which it is way too early in the year to do, you can at least respect the insight in the posts. Baseball is a long season, and is not a sprint like NFL and CFB, so there are going to be ups and downs and if I read the record correctly, Key is still up for the year.

Sticking with Arrieta and going with my ,the teams never lose for these guys parlay and hooking him with Strassburg and the Nats,
Been wanting to comment on something. For the people that don't think the past matters because the players have changed have not been betting baseball very long. Think of Mussina against the Twins and Oswalt against the Reds and I can go on and on. |

Still sticking with my pretty profitable Cubs theory (got over 2-1 on
Wednesday night and was real close to betting against Hendricks also)
and started 1-0 today with Hammel with Jake and Lester on deck.
Didn't post yesterday because I felt the people in this forum were spot on and not a lot of time for write-ups lately. Baltimore and the Red Sox were automatic plays yesterday and the TT's were also, although that Baltimore one was closer than expected. I love betting on teams that can hit though. They always seem to be able to get to that bullpen. Anyway, I agree with some of the plays, White Sox, Cleveland, Boston mentioned in the thread. I admit I did not get on the Sale train until like game 4. I was afraid I was going to lose 2-1, but the Sox bats have surprised me. One play I like that I didn't see a lot of talk about is Baltimore over detroit at only about -137. I keep saying Mr. Upton is not the same pitcher he used to be. About 6-7 MPH off of his FB and where he used to put teams away, they are now fouling off his pitches causing him to go deep into counts. Detroit 1-9 last 10 (think someone else may have mentioned that as well). Baltimore won 5 or 6 in a row and I really like Tillman. I think the team is 6-1 in his starts. GL! |

Pirates ML and TT over for reasons mentioned yesterday. I also like Baltimore over MN - MN is obviously one of the worst teams in the ML right now, although doing slightly better at home. Baltimore is 4-0 against MN this year, Hughes is 1-5, etc.
I would even make this my top play, but seeing that Hughes is a flyball/HR pitcher (good fade in small parks, especially if wind is blowing out) pitching in a pitcher's park today and the wind appears to be blowing in (still confirming), he may get a little bit of a break. Happy enough with Wilson on the other side. Would like him even more if the conditions different as he doesn't have a huge amount of starts, but appears to stay away from the long ball.big innings. |
