replied to Opening game nerves tonight at the Rose Garden? in NBA Betting I have seen nearly every Rocket game this year and am a Rockets fan. I honestly think they will have a lot a trouble tonight. The Rockets have trouble scoring against long athletic teams. If the Blazers front Yao, Houston will bog down on the offensive end and they often let struggles on offense affect their defense (see Mavs game). Seeing Artest up close for the first season he is overrated as a defender. Yao is their most skilled offense player and he cannot create his own shot. Talk about pressure for Blazers, media down here is killing Rockets for not winning a series in 12 years. Older team that doesnt have a true go to guy, or deadly outside shooter. Just my 2 pennies. replied to texas a&m byu in College Basketball I am an Aggie fan. I have seen them play a lot this year. Here is my opinion, without looking up specific stats and just using my memory. Aggies are very balanced and fairly deep and have size. They have a number of guys who average b/t say 8-12 points a game. This is nice but also hurts them down the stretch in close games b/c they have no true go to guy. They are always going to have a 3-4 min stretch in every game where they wont score. Just hope its not longer than that, it has been that way since Gillespie. They can defend but sometime have mental lapses. FT shooting is always a question late if they are up. They played and beat BYU last year in the smae scenario and are getting 2.5. Remember they beat Mcnamara and Cuse as a #12 seed in 06' and lost to Final Four LSU at buzzer. Next year made it to Sweet 16 and last year choked in 2nd round but should of beaten Fianl 4 UCLA. All that said, probably a coin flip. Good Luck. created a topic The "state" of Duke in College Basketball I have been a Dukie for a while but I am also a realist. This program has been overrated for a couple of years now and is in trouble of falling down a tier. Coach K has got to recruit a dominant big man. This 4 guard lineup and three point shooting plan is failing. Duke repeatedly gets hammered on the glass and cannot defend against skilled big men. Not to mention they get absolutley nothing offensively from their big men. If Coach K will remember, when Duke was last dominat it was b/c they had great big men, i.e. Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer. He has done a better job of recruiting more athelticism recently but has to get more skilled and physical inside, in my opinion. Any thoughts?
