@pa2918 Agreed ^^. Althoughhh I think medvedev has looked relaxed and very very good this tournament. It’s almost like he’s playing with less pressure as he’s accepted the new young talent is better than him. If his serve is on, he could certainly beat alcaraz. |

@AverageAllstar I wish I listened to myself and stayed away from Alcaraz. I knew I had a funny feeling about him today. |

5/1 Alcaraz vs. Rublev Fritz vs. Cerundolo
5/2 Medvedev vs. Lehecka Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime
Tomorrow however I feel pretty confident in Medvedev & Sinner. Parlay them both for + odds. Yes we all know clay is not Med’s favorite surface but these courts in Madrid are playing a lot faster which plays in Med’s favor. Lehecka on the other hand has looked decent & may have some hype around him after beating Nadal inflating the line. I’ve loved Nadal’s competitiveness and how much fun he seems to be having out there, but it’s pretty obvious that he just doesn’t have what it takes to beat higher level competition anymore. (I was all over Lehecka ML yesterday after watching Nadal vs Cachin). His defense is there but you won’t see him slapping winners. He simply doesn’t have the power anymore. Not that over powering his opponents was ever his strongest weapon but now he just hits lollipops over the middle of the court. For his own sake it’s better he gets knocked out in these tournaments in a somewhat competitive match against tier 2-3 players as opposed to what would happen if he went up against the top guys. I’m a fan of all the goats (Federer, Nadal, Djoker). I root for all of them whenever they play. So I will admit that it hurts to accept the decline (likely because it means I’m getting older too), but ya gotta take it for what it is. When they toss you those favorable lines just because of the name, HAMMER IT. I hope we are not there yet with Djoker. It doesn’t seem possible that he could have went from being so dominant for the majority of last season to looking as bad as he has since that Sinner match at the AO. I’m going to chalk it up as a bit of mental fatigue and he’ll bounce back, but we shall see. Ok rant over — onto tomorrows matches! Sinner vs FAA Not much to say about Sinner. He’s been about as consistent as they come. As long as he’s healthy this should be pretty straight forward in my opinion. FAA beat a very in-form Ruud in straight sets which was impressive, however once again the faster playing conditions on these courts I believe played in FAA’s favor. I don’t see that being an issue for Sinner, as it actually probably plays in his own favor.

she’s been getting a bit lucky with the conditions and these big hitters smoking the ball and making errors. Townsend should have her way with her given she’s played a couple matches already. |
