Thanks a lot for feedback fellas. I still had Tampa to use but if I didn't save them for next week, I'd be relegated to tossups. One other factor: There are only 14 of us left(2 took Tampa today) and I am the only one that hasn't used Buffalo. Many of them will be choosing between Chi+Hou but 3 still have Ravens. The pot is $8,050 |

The ref who made that last call started under the Utah basket and went the length of the floor to call it while the ref standing right there had put his whistle away. That's the stuff that gets to me.I had Jazz+4.5 and 5.5 but it just feels like a loss.

Don't see how the points are likely to help here. You have to bet on the team you think is going to win this game outright.

Hope you're right, but this looks like a classic key player goes down, better team gets motivated, vegas offering almost the opening line at half(6.5).I'm waiting to see if it hits 4.5 and taking Denver.I have the Mavs +6.5 to close out a 500 dollar parlay win so I have to.GL

I'm not surprised the call was made the way it was.The real problem is how the rule is defined now.I hate the fact that "playing defense" in college is running to a spot and falling down-especially when the offensive player has already committed himself.

Looked to me like Memphis was ok after the butterflies went away.I like how they rotate on defense and I think they like being the underdog.I have them +5.5 so I'll just ride it out.Really close game to call IMO. GL

I understand not enjoying the play of the NBA-basically pick and roll or one on one-but at least the players are skilled.Watching teams like Cincinnati that just recruit athletes who can run fast and jump high but can't play the game turns me off.You see a lot of that in the Big East overall. But going back to the NBA,if you don't have a team you follow or have a bunch of young cocky guys that just play for the check in your city,it's probably not too appealing..I'm lucky.I live in Dallas(not so lucky this year, thanks Cuban)where we have a superstar and a great person to represent the team and city in Dirk.Once he's gone,it will definitely be a lot different though. |

I rarely post but I feel strongly about this topic. I agree with the OP that college basketball during the regular season is close to unwatchable.25 turnovers, teams that shoot 60 percent as a team from the FT line, scoring droughts of 8-10 minutes are too common these days.I grew up in Virginia in the 80s and spent my time trying to decide who I hated more-Carolina or Duke.Back then every conference game was so much more meaningful. The crowds were better just because of the genuine excitement of the rivalries, both between the schools and between the players themselves. But it's not anybodys' fault.High school players should always have the right to become a professional if somebody wants to pay them. It's really just a sad bi-product and I hate the fact that my interest has dissolved so much over the years because I feel like I've lost one of the sports I really was passionate about and always took some of the sting away after football season ends. That being said-I still love the tournament.Especially the first two days. You just can't generate the emotion that comes from games like the Harvard upset last night or even the crumbling of Davidson in pro sports or even college football because it happens so fast. It's such a longshot really for almost all the teams in the tournament to win it, but every one of them thinks they can do it.Love watching it unfold. |
