i only have 1 rule...when a team is swinging at every single pitch in the zone, they usually don't want to be there and lose...ie: a lot of 0-2 counts, 2-0 groundouts...i did have the twins today though

i can take the loss. i just can't take dusty baker as a manager, he's made more bad decisions in my opinion this year than i can count, but i am on the reds tonight, so my opinion is biased

he was clearly struggling in the 9th...losing velocity, yes castro beat one out. but i still think you should've pulled him after that.

8-1 with a 2.72/3.32/3.78 split. .256 babip and a 1.7 WAR.
this screams regression. and what better place than after a 10-0 win, against a shitty mets team with a phillies team that struggled against niese this year. Mets ML Over 8. thanks

key.
can i just say, with everything that's changing on these boards, and all these idiots coming in. I really appreciate your write ups and the math behind it especially, It's my first year capping baseball and i turned the corner in july, already making up my losses in the first 3 months. I took a week off though, as i have exams coming up. don't have anything to add to your games today, as i haven't looked at anything, but i wish you the BOL. Will try and contribute more to your posts starting this weekend, hopefully i can help!

Jonathan Sanchez works around the strike zone (throws only 60% of his pitches for strikes). This won't fly with home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez who will likely squeeze these pitchers early. Doesn't help that the Pirates have a lot of hitting right-handers, which could cause problems if men get on base (Sanchez has a 17.3% BB rate against Righties). Jeff Karstens won't have this problem with his 4.7% BB rate. Because of his low strikeout percentage and walk percentage, he'll definitely concede some hits today; but I'm counting on the inefficient Giants offense for mediocre run production off of these hits. I think they'll edge out 1 or 2 runs in the first 5 and then grind a few more off of the Pirates bullpen. I expect Sanchez to struggle early on giving up some runs to the Pirates before their bats cool off against the Giants bullpen. They should get at least 3 runs in the first 5 innings. I like the value on Pittsburgh to score and take an early lead at +333 on the parlay, and I also like going against the season-series trend with the over on the game at even money with this umpire/pitcher combo. can you explain to me why sanchez can't throw strikes??? like. holy shit. i really enjoy your write ups, i was on the other side with teh giants RL though. BOL
