He specifically said he wanted some peace and quiet at night. You can certainly find rooms at the Wynn that offer that and some that do not due to pounding bass from nightclubs until 4 am.

Be aware that there can be quite a bit of noise from the nightclubs in certain rooms at the Wynn.

Rick, do yourself a favour and cancel that room at Sam's Town. You won't be sorry. Book a budget room on the strip or something downtown. That's where you're going to spend your time anyways. The Boulder Strip is straight up nasty.

I wouldn't bother with the superbook. I don't find it to be anything exciting and the Westgate is kind of isolated. If you do go and you're solo take the monorail. It'll be cheaper than a cab or uber. If you stay at the Trop the closest station is at MGM Grand.
As far as viewing parties I'd steer clear. Did 'hoops @ Harrah's' a couple years ago. It was a ballroom setup with betting stations, unlimited draft beer and buffet for about $100. The food and beer were bad and the atmosphere was pretty weak compared to being out and about on the strip. That was my experience anyway. I prefer to move around, hit the pits and check out different things with my limited time in town. If you want to hunker down in one place all day it might be a good option for you.

South Point sure is getting a lot of love here. Out of the places you listed I'd probably go with the Trop. Might as well save a few bucks. It's also in a decent location and has a quieter casino which might mean lower mins in the pits if that matters. No poker room though. MGM or Excalibur would be the closest.

I'm going to be there for the first week of MM for the 5th time in 6 years. Sure it's busy but I've always had an awesome time. It's not hard to get a bet down, including at halftime, as long as you steer clear of the huge books ie Caesars and Westgate. Setting up an account and betting through an app is another great option to avoiding any betting lineups. I've also never had a problem finding a place to watch. Whether it's in a bar, in the pits, at the pool or in one of the free ballroom set ups (ie Treasure Island, The D etc). Literally every single TV in town is tuned to the games. You mentioned all you really want is to be able to play some poker. Perfect! Think about how many more wannabe pro poker player fish will be in town! The games will be off the charts!

Hey dude. Gonna be in Vegas myself a week from now for 7 nights. Check out the forums @ jackcolton.com for club info. It's probably the best resource around for Vegas nightlife.

Looks like Vandy is going to be significantly short handed. Does that concern you?
