Thanks for your advice Covers forum. I was able to find 3:2 blackjack tables everywhere I played. I did notice that the CET properties don't display their payout odds, you have to ask the dealer. In some cases the dealer actually had to look under the placquered sign at the edge of the table that posts minimum bet amount. Crazy.
Single and double deck at El Cortez was by far the most lucrative session for me. But, I am not admitting to actually sitting in the El Cortez on a Wednesday night in Vegas, just sayin'. |

Bank of America ATM would not accept the foreign check, but I had no issues depositing it with teller. They will put a hold on it, so you will not have access to the funds for 7-10 business days.

Going to be in town for a business convention the week after Super Bowl. Want to hit Freemont one night, but going to be mid week. Does anyone know if they have stuff going on all the time, or are the street bands only around on weekends? Best night of the week to go besides Friday and Saturday? Last time I was downtown was about 6 years ago, so any new hot spot suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks in advance. |

Had to chime in on O'Sheas. The best 1/2 no limit hold 'em table in town right on the window along the strip. Drunkest donkeys sitting down with their money, while the midget would put his sack on girls he grabbed off the street. Great stuff, sad to see it go. Much like my grandfather was sad to see the Sands taken down.

I want to see if they introduce a game where a major backdoor pushes the game to victory or defeat.....Ohio State/Northwestern style fumble in the endzone with no time left sort of thing.
Great show for entertainment. Completely bogus and not targeting people who are regulars to this site or the handicapping world in general. I can see how Bob Jones from Wisconsin who bets on NFL games exclusively would watch this show and think it is reality. |

An SEC Defense with 3 weeks to prepare for an option team is a very sound play.

Oh, and if Broadway does play, over 49 is worth a look too.

Listed as doubtful on Don Best as of 12/17, and on the covers team page as of today. Also, line has moved Tulanes direction, so money being invested as though Broadway out. We will know for sure during warmups in an hour or so. I am guessing if Broadway suits up, he is a go and it would be wise to take the +3 as quick as possible. If he does not suit up, Tulane is the play, as ULL offensive approach is to go verticle, which has been near impossible in the last few games without Broadway. Also Tulane's D is pretty damn good, and will be jacked playing in their home stadium.

Mega - Check out some statistics on how double digit home favorites fair when coming off back to back losses as favorites. Miami fits the bill and may be worth a degen play. Do your homework as you always do though. Glad I hedged my win total play last week, made that loss to Duke a bit easier to swallow. Can still cash over 8 1/2 wins with win this week and at Pitt next week. At Pitt is tricky as Miami has a very poor historical record in cold weather.

@Mega - Houston on back to back road games versus top 25 opponent. 16 seems high, but not sure how a young team will handle this kind of adversity. Like the total to play over 58, as Ville will score and Houston likes to throw it which produces more plays over the course of the game.

Using your degen Duke play as a hedge against a preseason play I made on Miami to win OVER 8 1/2 games. Felt real good about this a few weeks ago, now I am going to try and buy some of my bet back by playing Duke and hope for a best case Miami win by 3 or less. If duke wins I halved my exposure with Miami having a home game vs UVA and a tough road game vs Pitt to cash the over win total.
Thanks for the idea Mega! |

Texas Tech passes the ball about 80% of the time. This means they are either moving down field or stopping the clock due to incompletions. If they don't move the ball and are stopping the clock, Baylor gets more plays. If you don't think Baylor can be up 49-14 at the half, you haven't been paying attention.
The only chance this game has at going under is if you get a redzone turnover or two that takes points off the board and causes a team to drive 90 plus yards. |

Mega - Tough back door last night. Put a note in the old Rolodex that NIU doesn't take knees. That little stunt caused all the favorite and over players to cash on a mid week almost stand alone game (which means the books probably lost some loot). Ahhh to have Lynch fumble that ball and give Ball State a chance to tie with over a minute left would have been a nice lesson to teach, but the point spread gods decided not to invoke their vengeance last night, perhaps saving it for Saturday.

The NCAA would never institute the death penalty again. Many involved in the SMU case of the 80's have come out and publicly stated it was a mistake to take the program away completely. I don't think you will ever see that again, no matter how egregious the violation. I think you are more likely to see the NCAA begin to relax some of their restrictions as it pertains to how student athletes conduct business off the field. I can see some kind of agreement as seen with Olympic athletes, where endorsements are allowed. This would create more transparency and perhaps remove some of the shady characters lurking around the programs. I am not advocating paying players, they are already paid with an education, room and board. I am saying if a company like Gatorade wants to endorse a student athlete, they should be allowed to contract them. It would be up to University Presidents, Athletic Directors and Head Coaches to determine to what extent they want players distracted by such things. In the end you would have a better system.

Can anyone help direct me to a good site that can run a simple query for me? Or if anyone here has access to a site, this is what I am looking for:
How do College Football Over-Time losers do in the following week? 1- Overall percentage vs the spread 2- Overall on Road 3- Overall at home 4- As road favs 5- As road dogs 6- As home favs 7- As home dogs I appreciate the help. At first glance, without any back checking, it appears OT losers are a solid go against in the week following the disappointing loss, but would like some statistical evidence to back this up. |
