At the end of the day whether you take someone else's or your own there will be bad days where it all goes wrong. This guy had a really good record last year and its possible the same stuff he was using that worked before won't work now, you cant hit like 70% every year you would be the best ever.
Bunch of 18-21 year olds and randomness involved

Ohio state is overrated, but hey even if they lose this game they can just sweep thru purdue, indiana and up back in the playoff anyways.

This was a disappointment for sure, they should not lose to Jamaica at home but Jamaica has been better and has become a much more difficult team to play against under there new coach. He has them much more organized and is using there talent, speed and physicality to there advantage unlike in previous years where they were kind of all over the place and allowed lots of goals. The quality between the 2 teams is not very big at all. For this reason jamaica was a good bet in this game. Although USA had good support this is not a difficult country to play in just in terms of it being an overly hostile environment.
This is disappointing for USA but it has no effect on them going forward IMO they were a team that can get out of the group stage of a world cup and not go much further after that before this game kicked off, and they still are now. There are about 30-40 teams that can say they are either better or as good as USA and then another 30 or 40 that are competitive enough to get a result against USA fairly often.

In a football stadium? These teams play all season in basketball gym's and then when it comes time to play the most important games we play them in a stupid cavern. Is the NCAA that greedy that on top of a tournament they make billions of dollars off of they want to squeeze some people down the sidelines 350 yards from the court for an extra 50 bucks?
College hoops has a widespread scoring problem as is. Making these guys play games in these settings is only going to make it worse. It has a huge impact on the games and really puts a stain on the end of the tournament. It has so much of an effect on the game that if the same game were played in a suitable basketball arena you would have an entirely different score/result. Just seems dumb. Why not play the games outdoors in a 25 mph wind? |

God this guy is the worst, same crap every week sits there on his ass making 10 million dollars a year watching basketball and he feels the need to piss and moan about how few points there are or about every call a referree makes. Just stop calling the games if your expecting a Virginia or Louisville game to be a shoot out. And also your big play voice sucks chode.

Starting off with some of the early games have 3 so far that I like.
Denver U -1.5 Really confident in this one, think denver bounces back after a really poor game midweek. Providence -2 Georgetown's only true road game was a 17 point loss at Xavier, Providence is playing good ball and should be fully focused on a big win at home Indiana +1.5 Indiana is a really young team and can be hit or miss, Ohio state has been experiencing with the 2-3 zone this year with some mixed results and have had trouble rebounding. Will be interesting to see how much they use it today, But at home I see Indiana coming out with a big effort after getting crunched by MSU. Indiana wins a good one

You can feel free to draw all the conclusions you want from bowl games and use them to make broad statements, but it's better to judge over the course of a whole season. In most of these bowl games, either one or both of the teams are something totally different from what we saw in season. One team hears how they are so great and going to blow the other team out, the other team hears how they have no chance. Except unlike the regular season they hear that and see that for a month instead of a day or two so it becomes a bigger factor. If you take any one game at any point and make broad judgements you will be inaccurate, is the big ten better then the SEC? no, not even close. But the big ten will benefit from that because they can play a softish non conference schedule, have there usual crap big ten schedule, trip up once along the way and still get in.
When these debates are had nobody should be suggesting that one team cant beat the other, of course they can, and all the teams that were in the debate for the playoff are more then capable of beating each other, it's just if you get alabamas best game, and ohio st's best game, bama wins, but in bowl games the favorite dosen't play there best very often in fact they often lay eggs. Auburn lost to wisconsin what does that mean? that was probably auburn's 5th most important game of the season, and there coming off a game where there playoff hopes were ended in by far the biggest game they play, so they come in, they stink and they lose. Rinse repeat.

ya these earlier bowl games your flipping coints to a certain degree, most of these games suck and there is no way to handicap what you are going to get and who is going to lay an egg, at least the playoff games you would hope your getting both teams best effort. But all the other games you cant really draw conclusions because its largely a bunch of trash.
